  1. Hi all,

I know several on here use the Behringer XR18 so I thought I'd open this up to see if anyone can advise on an issue I encountered:

4 piece band rehearsing this weekend with 3 mics, guitar DI and Roland electronic drums going into the XR18.  First day, no problems at all.  Next day in the same room, same setup (aside from additional pedalboard), there was frequently some horrendous white noise that seemed to come from the drum kit.  I tried changing channels, cables, gain staging on the drum brain and in the mixer but to no avail.  Sometimes there would be several minutes with no issues, then it would become constant or almost constant with occasional flickering.  We also restarted both the drum kit and mixer.
I thought there could be some sort of RF interference or problem with the mains supply but I don't think the rehearsal room had anything else running differently within the building. The only difference in setup, as mentioned, was an extra pedalboard supply plugged into a different socket within the room on the second day. I also tried plugging the drum kit into another power socket but that made no difference.
Has anyone else encountered this problem at all? I'm a bit stumped as I tried everything I could think of to solve it. I'm no expert but I have had at least some practice with the mixer so I know enough to get by.

    Thanks

  2. No sound on or off means that the problem will be to do with the 'off board' wiring rather than the pedal circuitry itself, so probably not too tricky to solve.

I'd open it up and check if any wiring to the jacks or footswitch look unusual with loose connections.

Very liberal, a couple of sprays per fret?! I know someone on here has done it (@kevin_lindsay?) and their's looked much darker in the photos. I'm going to leave it overnight and see how it goes (gf won't be happy the table is out of action!).

I used rosewood coloured furniture oil with a sponge and then a light application of lemon oil once that had dried.  Came up a treat. Worth thinking about if the lemon oil alone doesn't work.

Ref later point about the tuners - if this is a Vintera then the tuners are Hipshot, yes.

  4. Hi all,

Selling my second Stomp as I have recently been making some pedals and I don't really need two of these for guitar and bass rigs.

This is in mint condition (velcro on base), with original packaging and includes a Mosky switch plus stereo cable (~£24 new).

Software is up-to-date and there are a load of IRs loaded on.

Happy to do a demo via video call and can discuss postage at buyer's risk within the UK / Ireland.

I'm not after anything in particular for trades but it doesn't hurt to ask!

  5. Is this an advice request or 'item wanted'?

I may be looking to move on my spare HX Stomp seeing as I've been doing a lot of DIY builds recently, so having an extra Stomp for guitar noodling is a bit excessive!

    That's very encouraging to hear!

Out of interest, what are you planning on replacing your S500 with?

I've a Bassman 100T which is simply excellent.  The GK comes close, albeit with its own character so holding onto both for variety and ease of moving will be no hassle if it doesn't sell.

  7. SOLD

'veve umm'd and ahh'd about this but I have a wee power amp to use for home practice when my valve head is too much.

Bought in 2020 and includes footswitch plus original packaging. Polar seem to be the only UK stockists and this is £832 including delivery, so this is a chance to get one at a decent discount.

It's in excellent condition, with only light home use and one band rehearsal.

4 band EQ with voicing and contour controls make this a really versatile piece of kit. The tube overdrive is pretty special too.

Not really after trades, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Trials in Bristol most welcome and can discuss shipping.

  8. Regarding the original post, I've read the guidelines online which clearly state no visas are needed for less than 90 days touring in the EU (and likewise for those visiting the UK).  Quotes from various agents support this.  Not sure this is really a story or just a paper trying to stir up trouble.

Anyway, back to looking at pedals and stuff...

Wow! Quick reply. Many thanks! I found a Vintera Mustang here in the States for cheap, but the fretboard doesn't do it for me. Needs to be darker to have that vintage vibe.

Haven't had the chance to A/B it with my American Performer Mustang, but it also cost half of the American model....maybe I'll learn to love the Vintera?

No problem. I would be interested to hear the difference!

  10. Had one very briefly but sent it back as it was advertised as new but with shop damage.  Fit and finish was very good, comfortable neck (although I 'd be tempted to sand it a bit) and sounded...like a jazz bass should.  I preferred it to the Fender Pro I tried out but that was from a couple of years ago so not a scientific comparison.  I see they are available online for £999; I'd say give one a go!

  11. Hi all,

I'm after a decent sized padded bag / case with separators for storage of cables, leads, strings , IEM box etc.  The only one I've seen vaguely suitable online with 6 compartments is just not high or wide enough (only 8").

Had a look at fishing tackle bags and DJ carry cases but nothing has caught my eye.  Any ideas welcome.  It would need to be at least 60cm long, maybe 25x25cm wide and deep with equal sized compartments.

  12. SOLD

    HiHi all, my consolidation continues....

I do rather like this but I can easily manage with my long-scale instruments.

This is about 7 months old and in excellent condition, fitted with La Bella flats (RRP £40) and comes with a Fender deluxe gigbag.  The original roundwounds are included.  Cheapest I've seen online new is £750.
I've lightly sanded and polished the gloss neck to make it easier to traverse.  Also, I've darkened the pau ferro fretboard to a rather more aesthetically pleasing rosewood colour.    It's a proper Motown machine and very easy to play!

I'm happy to send more photos or do a video walkthrough should you wish.  Drop-off at a sensible distance from Bristol is fine or I can post at buyer's cost and risk.  I have a couple of other items for sale I can bundle in if desired.

I suppose I can sell the strings separately if anyone is interested; they're the ones made especially for the Mustang.
