best advice is to test it without the other band members, turn the volume up gradually, listening to the cabs for farting. I doubt you'll have any problems.

I paid $600 for a Takamine acoustic bass. Sold it and bought a edrum kit.
They are only good for noodling on the couch, and uncomfortable at that. I get a better vibe from my fretless Jazz with rounds, just turn your amp volume down to 1 at acoustic gigs.

As promised, here is one of the tracks from my tape transfer. I've listened back to it a couple of times and it's cringeworthy for several reasons, but I was only a teenager when we wrote this stuff, so it is what it is.
I'm going to have a go at re-recording this one with a few of my current band members and see what we can do with it.
it's aged well. Nice song, surprised how noiseless it is after all this time on tape. Good restoration.

by 'pokies' are you referring to nipples being clearly and prominently visible through clothing, or slot machines?

The guitars are the property of the shop. They've got money tied up in them and will now have to go through the cost and inconvenience of dealing with the theft, so this is far from a victimless crime. It must be hard enough to run a guitar shop at the best of times, never mind with this sort of thing happening.
if you read my post, you'd see that I was saying that as it wasn't in someone's hands as THEIR guitar, it wasn't as bad . I stand by that statement. Not arguing, just restating my point.

I bought the Mono dual bag.
1) it only JUST fit in the taxi, took up the whole back seat.
2) two basses are REALLY heavy when you are old and have a bad back lol
3) I NEVER needed a backup bass before, and still don't

Quoting Empress, While we are confident the fix will work, we’ll still need to test them extensively to be sure.
I would hope you do test them, something you obviously didn't do the first time around. It's not like your prices are at the budget end......

here in South Oz,the only venues that have original bands don't have pokies and most won't survive. Totally killed off the industry. No rescue plan for them, coz they don't hand over millions from pokies.

while I hate all crims, at least they were insured, the guitars didn't belong to anybody yet, up for sale.
Not as bad as a musician getting his gear stolen.

Yes they are great, but they would have had to be installed at an angle on my board, which I didn’t want.
ahah I see your dilemma. Good solution,I've never seen those short plugs before

Because for me personally, I can just use the combo on its own and just plug in a kettle lead. It’s all personal taste an opinion so if you’re happy with using the head and cabs then that’s great. I’m happy with my combo and cabs. Happy Christmas mate!
well if plugging ONE speaker cable is such a hassle, then yeah get the combo.
I'd rather they worked on a 500w Elf still.....
Merry Xmas

if you are that concerned, don't play just yet.

I put S Locks on all nine basses. Not a problem with any of them. Best locks on the market. ymmv

if you are looking to save board space, EBS flat patch cables are the way to go. the new gold ones

email jason at fretnation, he knows everything about bass strings.

your first option is to buy a cheap pedal? Try adjusting your amp's EQ section, that is what it is there for.
You rolled off your tone knob for no apparent reason, then complain you can't hear yourself. Put all your tone back and try again.....

What can the combo do that amp and cab cannot? Confused...
I agree, I have the Elf and two 10" cabs. The Elf sits in it's recessed space, why the heck would you want the combo?
I'd rather they work on a 500w Elf head......

if you are under 40, buy an old heavy rig for cheap.
otherwise, go small and light.
Brands don't matter much.
Smallest is an Elf 200w head into their 10" cab that weighs 8kg. Add a second cab. Small, light, LOUD. has a seriously good DI out as well.
Markbass Vintage 500w head is killer, has a working tube in the preamp.Gets that old school tube warmth.
GK, Ampeg, make heads at many price levels as do Peavey and Hartke. All are good working amps.

Not wishing to stray off topic (apologies!) but ive found that with practice, the right pick and proper technique, its possible to significantly lessen the attack and get a tone pretty close to that which I would with fingers.
I bought wooden picks from treepicks , a Canadian company. Awesome sound, less click on the attack, very smooth mellow tone. It has transformed my playing,as arthritis has limited my finger speed.

I bought a Tascam 2488 portastudio, sick of every windows update screwing up my pc. Sick of glitches. We are gonna start recording our new album next week, need to learn the manual, all 90 pages yikes. Gigging is not much fun when you play all originals so no real loss there.

Help choosing Head / Cab
in Amps and Cabs
Posted
that is a killer rig that will last you many years
You could experiment with a second cab as a 4x10 depending on your needs
then you'd have three different setups, 115, 410 and 115 and 410.
