1. own a 82 l2000e, tribby 2000, us sb2. owned various fenders, emg equiped whatevers. i think the usa models superior to tribby. however the tribby has the same attributes never dissapointed with it.
2. Saw Bernie in Brighton a couple of weeks back. hoping to get "GB'd" early next year.
3. [ overwater.... Sean Connery Fender.... Roger Moore Gibson... George Lazenby
4.
During the dark ages (well, the mid 1980's), when I started playing, Orange were generally regarded as something you bought if you couldn't afford a second hand Marshall. How times have changed eh????
A guy I knew in the 80's bought one for 80 quid... he promptly painted it black.
5. Hi, which valve is the driver?... I run a 400+ and would be interested in trying this.
6. Have owned a 400+ for17 years not 1 problem. There were problems with British spec Triaxis guitar pre-amps, and some times a bad reputation arises and sticks to companies in general. The guitarist I play with has used a wide variety of high end gear and has found Mesa to be eminently reliable. +1 to Alex Clabers comment.
7. Yupp.... had my Tulipwood Evolution for 6+ years.... most versatile Bass I.... have had.... am never disappointed with it in any way. They put out what you put in.....the neutrality of the tone puts some people off admittedly, but this that the sound is completely processable at your amp..... further electronic adjustment is via trim-pots inside the cavity, If you need a bit more "Sturm and Drang" or "slice and dice".... this helps to personalise the instrument output etc... to your needs.
‘In music…pure tone, true pitch, exact intonation, perfect harmony, rigid rhythm, even touch and precise time play a relatively small role. They are mainly points of orientation for art… The unlimited resources for vocal and instrumental expression lie in artistic deviation from the pure, the true, the exact, the perfect, the rigid, the even and the precise. This deviation from the exact is, on the whole, the medium for the creation of the beautiful – for the conveying of emotion’ – Carl E. Seashore. It’s a good point: is that why players like Alain Caron, Jeff Berlin etc aren’t as successful as their astonishing techniques would lead you expect? Their playing is too perfect, too clinical. Or is this an argument against excessive attention to technique at the expense of musicality? For those who are interested, Carl Emil Seashore (1866-1949) was a prominent American psychologist who was particularly interested in audiology, the psychology of music, the psychology of speech and stuttering, the psychology of the graphic arts and measuring motivation and scholastic aptitude. He devised the Seashore Tests of Musical Ability in 1919, a version of which is still used in schools in the United States. Any thoughts anyone?
The pursuit of perfection is often at the expense of progress . I like Jeff Berlins playing , but don't much like his music .
9.
Hiya, few things are gonna match the Boogie 400 for output..... If you fancy GK and what that sort of muscle it's gonna have to be the RB2001 but you'll need 2 x 4 ohm cabs to get the best out of it I've been around the planet with Bass amps...... for me in a live setting the GK tone works.... the tone shaping is very simple but effective at the frequencies that matter.... ATB Mark
Thanks for your comments ... do you use GK presently ? . if so what model and cabs ? .
