1. Yes, Grover tuners. Not sure why they aren't stamped "Grover" Just had a look at the 2014 Gibson Special ad page and it says: COUNT ON THE TUNING GROVER “SHAMROCK“ TUNERS WITH THREE-POINT ADJUSTABLE BRIDGE GIVE ROCK-STEADY PITCH
2. Thanks Mark! I agree, I like the faded finish better then the gloss cherry.
3. This has been a tough bass to part with, but really my P Bass is doing it all for me right now and is my go to bass for studio work so let's find a good home for my Gibson SG. This 2014 has been my gigging bass for awhile now, hence it show's some mojo, which is easy to achieve with these basses because of the thin nitro finish. It's certainly not abused, it's just that it's seen some action on stage. I've upgraded the bridge to the Hipshot which is such a fantastic upgrade. Also installed a Dimarzio Model One in the neck position which makes these SG's have so much more clarity and punch. It's strung with d'Addario Chrome flat wounds which are about a month old. The pictures should show the imperfections in the bass, but again, nothing major and all cosmetic. Sale includes the hard case, original paperwork, original bridge and neck pick up as well as original strap buttons. You can see I moved the original neck strap pin to the upper horn which is rock solid and eliminates any neck dive. Happy to ship mainland UK, or certainly come by if local for a go thru my Markbass amp and have a cup of tea. 4. Price Drop! £395.00 Great deal on a great bass. Recently bought this great P Bass (Parts Bass) off "the Brig" and you may have seen some of his other great parts basses for sale recently. Well, this is one of them and I'm sad to see it go, but it was a tie between this and my Gibson USA SG short scale. The short scale narrowly won out, so off to a good home the P bass goes. I purchased this bass to replace my Classic Series P Bass that was a real great bass. With the jazz width neck and custom wound P pickups it makes for a great replacement for the Classic series P Basses....for a fraction of the cost. Feel free to email me at [email protected] for more pictures, or you're certainly welcome to come on by and give it a test through my Markbass amp in West London. I have no problem shipping the bass (at owners expense) and I'm pretty good at boxing and shipping basses. Includes the nicely padded gig bag in the photos. Oh and Paypal preferred. friends and family.... 5. Studio GC

SOLD

Thanks! Yes, I did see his post. Thanks for your reply too. I'm travelling for three more days. Hoping it might still be around next week!
6. Studio GC

SOLD

Nice bass, I presume the body is string thru? (Even through the current bridge isn't....) Also what year is this? .....hoping it's one with graphite rods in the neck.... Many thanks!
7. I had one of these. Gigged it often. Went short scale and sold it. If you like plenty of options AND P bass with Jazz neck, this is your bass! So tempting to go back the the Am. Jag....
8. Nice bass, just sold my 50's classic P because the neck was too wide....Where are you located?
9. Wow, a jazz and P for sale. I hope you're saving at least one bass? I presume the nut width is standard P width (1.65")? Congrats on the baby! I have a six year old and can tell you it's a blast!
10. Hi had a Lakeland Jazz with the ChiSonics. Great bass....never should have sold it. Someone needs to get this bass rockin'!
11. I purchased this bass because it had plenty of bumps and bruises on it and wanted a nitro P bass. When I purchased the bass it had the urethane fiesta red finish...which I don't like the feel of. What I do love are the 50's classic road worn P basses...but they are way too much money for me. So I made my own nitro Classic 50's P bass and knew if I refinished with two light coats of nitro it would soon enough get to mojo city with my own playing. It's not there yet, but hopefully the next owner of the bass will get it there. So, I stripped off the urethane finish and refinished the bass with two light coats of Fiesta Red Nitro. There are certainly imperfections in the body from removing the old finish, but since I was going for a road worn look I didn't really care as this was meant as a players bass (as you can see from the chunk taken out of the headstock). The great thing about this bass is the fact it now "rings" so much more acoustically which I believe contributes to it's great tone. That and the fact the neck fits in the neck pocket very snugly. Love that in a bass. I also aged the hardware which I think looks pretty darn good. The control cavity has been shielded with copper foil and it has the original pickups and electronics. Comes with original gig bag that has one broken zipper on the smallest pocket. Comes strung with .105 d'Addario Chromes which by law should be the only strings allowed on a bass like this. Sounds so fantastic.
12. Beauty. Do you have the original tuners and bridge? And, where are you located?
13. Ready to pop in your P Bass to give it an upgraded classic tone the Fralin's are known for. Had these in a P bass that I no longer have. So they're just gathering dust and deserve to go into P Bass and be played. The Fralin's are standard wind. Harness detail:

Matched* CTS USA Custom Audio Taper 250K Split Shaft Volume & Tone Potentiometers - smooth linear volume and tone change (no bunching or on/off effect)
0.022uF Sprague "Orange Drop" Tone Capacitor** - removes the thinness and harshness inherent with budget capacitors
Quality Jack Socket
Bridge earth wire supplied with heatshrink tube to twist join with exiting earth, solder and insulate
Please note one of the tabs on the split shaft is broken.
