1. Sent a message, really interested
2. Out of interest what does the grease bucket circuit do?
3. Gwan which would would you opt for. I've been debating a p or pj bass to add to the stable, tried a yammy tbrx 305 didn't like the b, tried a cort/ibanez didn't like the b so ill stick to the four banger for the moment. I've seen two of these p/j basses s/h which is the one to go with?
4. Not quite a 80's look, more looking for a do all instrument. Quite like the idea of a Yamaha bb425 in white. That or I've seen a good deal on a Godin freeway 5
5. The reason I ask, is I've been kicking around the Idea of starting a covers band and scoping out the gear other people use. My own set up is really an atk400 and some headphones. Between seeing if many people find the benefit of a 5 string for pop covers and what sort of amps/di boxes are being used. Long story short....just picking brains
6. Debating between a yammy bb414/415 or a s/h Godin sd4 or new freeway 5
7. I know Yamaha, squier cv get a look in but anyone rocking any godin basses over the years?
8. Saw a good deal my way for a ibby sr405 for 100 euro, going to pick it up and go to the woodshed with the intention of working towards an almighty p bass
9. So besides the Yamaha, any p/j five strings to look out for?
10.
With the falling value of the Pound against the Euro, it'll soon be as cheap to attend the North-West bass bash as a packet of Cornflakes costs in Dublin
I was back and forward to Cambridge for college for a while during the good times and that was great, nearly one to one conversion, then Ireland lost the plot. They were the good times. Yep ill keep that plan on the back burner
11. Budget is on the cheaper end of the scale 300/400 ish so I watching the s/h market like a hawk. As for attending a bash id love to but I'm based in Dublin so not a trek I could make lol
12. I would add, I love rob wright of nomeansno, some post punk and timmy c of ratm. A P for me might be the way to go
13. Hey folks, long time lurker, first time poster. To try and cut this short, I've picked up a bass a few years ago in a trade. Played guitar for years....bass to me is far more satisfying. The bass in question is a Ibanez atk400, its a beauty, I can get a lot of tones out of it feels great. Looking to add to the collection, which would you consider first. Simple p bass, a short scale, five string or fretless. I would add I do have smaller hands and I'm only playing with friends nothing major, although id love a cover band. What's in your collection?
14. Cheeky question, is that 75 posted to ireland?
