  1. He never stood a chance really.. It was so chaotic it didn't really matter, I never saw them live, I was 14 at the time. I'm building my own bass and it has issues. I have a high fret so its action is mentally high to clear it.. Once its sorted I'll demo something, right now its horrible to play :/
  2. I use a sixpence with my guitar, but can I hell get away with it or a pick on my bass, it early days for me but fingers just seem more natural
  3. I'm doing it the other way a guitar amp with a bass and nothing bad has happened, but its only a Fender Mustang 1 its not the most powerful thing in the world, but loud enough to pee people off I dunno life's a gamble in my case most people said don't do it, it'll blow up, wreck the speaker etc but up to now its fine, its even survived the granddaughters adjustments.. that is bloody loud lol
  4. The earth is a cool idea.. I'm still deciding how to finish the body, its nowhere near as nice yours so its dark stain, paint or go nuts and carve it.. I like the latter lol I'm going to do a 3D model of the carved option so I'll start a thread if its going that way and whether the kit was worth the money
  5. That is really cool, and what a way to overcome a problem... puts my slightly out of place bridge into prospective that's for sure lol
  6. Really nice I just bought a Jazz in kit form, the cheapest one I could find so it has no holes drilled at all.. my point is my friend made a drill for the earth hole under the bridge if you want to use it

    Hi All

Hi Dandelion; I working on a remix on long play beta max, sounds so much better with a snapped G String I think Dave has the edge on me, my strat is just regular wood so maybe that's why? And the Jazz bass I'm building sounds like a normal ish bass jokin aside, thanks for the welcome
  8. nothing exciting, its a Classic Vib 60's Stat with phase switching, I'm also building a Jazz rep bass but that's no were near picture ready, I'm trying to decide on the finish I use a Fender Mustang Mk 1 Amp
  9. the pin strip around the edge would be my worry.. I'd leave it, I'm no expert on guitars but if it was a car or motorcycle you'd be killing its value as its only an improvement for yourself
  10. Like what somebody has already said, your way better than Sid I can't really give advice as I'm a newbie on bass, I'm having a ball with Boris the Spider.. give it a try

    Hi All

Hi everyone About 4 years ago I took up the guitar again.. when I say again I wasn't very good in my teens and now I'm about on par with Dave Lister from Red Dwarf just a lot more denial I have a 70's Classic Vib Strat, with Brian May style phase switching, my daughters also bought me various other stringed instruments, ie a Uke, Mandolin and a cigar box guitar, which was in kit form and I kind of got a DIY bug so I bought a Jazz bass in kit form Currently its together to see if there's any issues, there is lol, but nothing that can't be fixed That's about all really.. my pc is running really slow, I need to swear at it, I mean sort it lol
