I did actually (and I occasionally do so) but I seem to recall members being encouraged to host their images elsewhere. I understood there was a fairly low limit on how much each member could upload - every so often a member would complain of being unable to upload, and it was usually because they’d reached their personal limit. Also I want some of the photos to be visible on other sites e.g. in for-sale threads. I could just directly upload here and then link from other sites, but it didn’t seem quite right to me.

Maybe I’ve massively overthought it and I should just crack on!

That's fair enough, maybe the limits have increased, seems quite high at the moment!
I've personally not had any issues with uploading straight from file :)
Best of luck with the sales

  2. *SOLD*

Bought recently from the lovely Singular Audio in Netherlands. Really great, responsive tube (valve!) overdrive pedal. Triode and Pentode modes allow for different levels of drive. Line switch allows for either line or instrument level signals to be used.

Only selling as I'm drowning in pedals right now and would like to free up some cash.

To buy one new, these are approx £250 + customs (an additional £70 approx) so I've tried to price this listing so someone can get hold of this without the faff.

No issues or defects, price includes special delivery postage.

Message me if you have any questions!

  3. 2U wooden angled rack/case, ideal for desktop/studio use, or sat on a speaker cabinet.

Bought early 2023. Only been used at home, some small scuffs/dinks from moving home etc.

Looks a little bit dusty in the pics here, not to worry, I will give it a full wipe down before it leaves here.

Comes with screws and sockets for attaching equipment.

Collection preferred due to size/weight but I'm sure we could arrange something.

Although with Gardiner Houlgate, the buyer's fee and seller's fee total around 50% so the seller gets about 50% of what the seller pays (about 75% of the hammer price).

Yeah I'm not entirely sure that's the route we would go down, it might be worth a grand or two but probably not enough to warrant auction. Appreciate the info 👍

Not sure tbh . However if it was someone who is deceased or very rarely signs anything , then the value would be a lot higher . Maybe check the bands fan clubs and see what gives 🤔

One of the members is actually deceased, it's signed by all of Avenged Sevenfold before drummer 'the Rev' died. I think my friend looked into similar items and got a rough price in mind, but wants to be a bit more sure.

Signed items are notoriously hard to value and sell. Better leave the market to decide.

Unless it’s the Rolf Harris signed Stylophone I saw for sale on Facebook. That’s not worth much at all.

That's fair enough, and thanks for the rec. 👍

  6. I have a friend who is looking to part ways with a signed guitar, but isn't too sure how to accurately value/authenticate the signatures.
Guitar is in great condition, never played seriously. Doesn't come with a certificate, but it was won in a competition at the band's own gig and comes with other merch including a 7" vinyl.

Any suggestions? Anything is appreciated at this stage. :)

    Can give more info privately.

Would a wall wart like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/356130082559 and a polarity reversing 5.5/2.5mm female to 5.5/2.1mm adaptor do, or must it be a module that takes an IEC lead? If it has to take an IEC lead then a laptop power supply like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/277262161493 with a polarity reversing adapter? I'm assuming that the orange connector is centre negative, if not then you don't need the polarity reversal.

I'm not dead set on a specific set-up really, just something that will work. I currently have to connect the wall wart type supply to the power block under the board. Some kind of module on the side of the board would be more convenient.

And yes, the orange connector is centre negative.

  11. Hi all,

I'm looking for some kind of power module like in the photo further below, but one that I can connect to my power supply's 18v 'Boss style' input (orange input seen here)

    image.thumb.png.fb8b3cc4a0a56db1629899f53dd67e04.png

I've been using a Palmer PWT12 supply for a few years, fairly inexpensive compared to the likes of Cioks and Strymon but still good quality, no noise etc.  Unfortunately the mains cord is dying. I've had it repaired a few times but it just gets worse with time and I'd rather not risk blowing my pedals. It doesn't seem possible to buy the mains cord by itself.

Rather than replace the whole supply, I wondered if I could get something like in the picture below. A power module that I can position on the edge of my board and connect to the supply itself. Does anyone know of anything that might be suitable? I can only seem to see IEC-to-EC cables like this one.

     Cheers

Apologies, but what's ducking? I'm not entirely sure what a sidechain is either.

    Trying to learn 🙂

No need to apologise at all, happy to explain!

Sidechain compression first. Trigger input goes in to compressor, and when that trigger crosses a set threshhold, the volume on another track is affected (usually reduced momentarily). A common application of this in production situations is to feed a signal from the kick drum to a compressor's sidechain on a bass track. This means when the kick happens, the volume of the bass reduces by a desired amount so the kick is clear and not fighting the bass frequencies as much.

And then 'ducking' is just a more extreme version of that, I suppose. Rather than a subtle effect for getting things out the way for a moment, it can be used to create more dramatic volume swells, pulsing etc. It's very commonly used on synths in electronic music, especially house.

The Pill allows you to dial in the depth of the volume drop, and how quickly it recovers again. It's a simple effect in essence but a fairly unique one for pedals, from what I know.
