1. Bass has been sold. Cheers for the interest
 2. Hello , is this the ceramic pickup version or the alnico? 1992 - 2007 is ceramic. Cheers
 3. Big up, mad respect! to the SS1 6 string! Amazing sound bass! Necks so wide on these you could use them as a Kayak
 4. Dear BassChatters Having owned over 4 different Musicman Stingrays 4's all 3eq models! I've always had a few questions that I've never found the answer too. This has stopped me buying 'limited edition' and variants of the stingray as most seller don't seem to know the answer. So i'm in the market for a new bass and you know.....I'd real appreciate some answers to my here questions 1. Does the Musicman Stingray 4 (3EQ) and Stingray 5 (3EQ) share the same pre-amp? 2. Does the Musicman Stingray 4 (2EQ) and Stingray 4 Classic (2EQ) share the same pre-amp? 3. Does the Musicman Stingray Classic 4 (2EQ) and Stingray Classic 5 (2EQ) share the same pre-amp? P.s. PMT based in the UK had a Musicman 5 string Sub, Sterling and a Stingray in stock. Weirdly enough the Stingray priced at £2000, the most expensive of the 3 had a really floppy B string, bass was set up perfectly. The Sub 5 priced at £350 had a really tight B string out of the 3. Strange!! Cheers guys
 5. Hello there wiggybass. I Never had the chance the weight it. Its complete packaged up, bubble wrapped and boxed at the moment. Officially specs from ernie ball: 9 lbs - 10 lbs , (4.22 kg) - (4.50kg) varies slightly based off of 4 String Stingray owners. its in that ball park for sure
 6.
any trades? Got a lovely Limelight P Bass.
Cheers for the great offer codhead. Unfortunately only looking for a straight sale for this one.
 7. .
 8. I recently bought a Nate Mendel Signature P bass. Going to stick some Lindy Fralin Pickups in it However im looking at the control cavity and I'm wondering are these Stock Fender CTS pots? Do Fender Passive Precision both MIM and USA share the same internals wiring and electronics? Thanks
 9. Had the opportunity to play the Flea 60's stacked pot jazz tribute, it was in stock and priced at £919 from PMT Manchester.

its light weight, great relic'ing! really fantastic down to dent and bends in the tone nob. Small details that you dont see from 'tribute' mim models.

its a quiet bass when plugged in, well when compared to some of the mim p basses i played through the same amp.

Its very sensitive to attack, you can really dig in and the tone of the bass will really change to the level of attack without distorting or losing any tone.

Fit and finish on the bass is perfect, frets edges are perfect, neck is straight and the rosewood quality is really nice!, low action and no fret buzz. very light!

The staff and some passers by really loved that bass! only had great things to say about it.
The staff all commented that its a smart investment that you can actually use as its already relic'd.
Well why didnt I buy it? I tried out a Nate Mendel mim P bass, nitro finish, modified bridge and quater pounder pick ups. £805 wow! FAT sounding! destroyed the flea jazz in terms of growl and punch but then again its a p bass : ) The flea bass neck played 'better' than the Nate Mendel P bass and a Elite £1560 P bass I tried. If i wasnt after a P bass tone I would have bought the flea jazz right there and then! Got my 3eq stingray with bright roundwounds and a P bass with flatwounds, not sure if ill ever need a jazz my 2 cents
 10. Are CIJ p bass' 3 piece or 5 piece construction like the made in Mexico line? FinnDave What wood is used for the body? Cheers
 11. I ordered the matte black pickguard from WD music its pretty darn close expect its missing the white middle layers between the plastics. Unfortunately WD music don't do custom orders for black/white with a matte black top. Here is a pick for reference: I considered getting some matte black spray paint on that glossy pickguard. Anyone on basschat looking to sell their 90's pickguard?

 14. Hello everyone! Hows everyone this fine day! I have a beautiful 2 beautiful Musician Stingray 3 eq's One with a maple neck & one with rosewood neck, the exact same spec 3eq, single H, same year also (2015) Funnily enough having played both, both set at the same eq, fresh batteries......they sound very different from each other! i was always skeptical of the sound differences between rosewood and maple but this has changed my opinion My observations: The Maple neck 3eq stingray has a lot of natural high end attack (leaving out fret buzz or stingray clank) but natural bite to its sound, less emphasis on having a rounded fuller tone, less mids, its definitely got bass and treble, call it naturally scooped The Rosewood neck 3eq stingray is much more mellow, like seriously more mellow, its warmer, buttery and laid back even when eq'ed the same, its got that stingray clank but its missing a lot of bite and attack. reminds of a Warwick bass with a wenge neck. crazy eh! I'm shocked, lol cannot get them to sound the same, using a pick or slap or fingers. The 3 eq rosewood Stingray bass almost sounds like a classic 2eq Maple Stingray being more mellow and fuller. Whats your take on this
 15. Thank you drTStingray! Much Appreciated. To get the 2016 Stingray to match that era apart from the nut being different and bridge mutes, ill get a hold of a matt black scratch plate and some black pick guard screws/ black pickup screws.
 16. Hello everyone! Hope y'all doing good! I just bought a new Musician Stingray 3eq black with rosewood 2'nd stingray 4 in 6 months! sold a 6 string Warwick Streamer Stage 1 NT for it. However my black pick guard doesn't match the ones produced under "black" from 1992/1998 isa era. They seem to look more matt black?, Bakelite? looks grey under light, black in the dark. I've attached some pictures, do you happen to know where I can find this colour or what the name of this colour is. the first pick is of a late 2015/2016 stingray.
