  1. does this ruin the bass? Pulling the string vertically so it lands and gives a real clanky sound? cheers Taran

    Feedback for Aero71

great guy. Bought a custom JB5 Vander Bass from him at a great price, was very informative and swift with his replies and delivered very quickly from the Netherlands to the UK! Wholly recommend dealing with him
  3. Saw The Who in July, incredible considering their engine room has passed away!
  4. Thanks Meddle! Very interesting indeed yeah I have seen him use a pick in the Isle of Wight festival, especially when he performs 'I Don't Even Know Myself' which has a cool bassline Well it seems Cataldo is the best shout then!
  5. well that's confirmed Cataldo for me then! Only problem is there's a price hike in Jan, and I don't think I can quite afford it just yet! How does the low action feel on them? What strings are on there too? Also Wolverinebass, whats that Status Graphite like?
  6. corrrrr wish I had the cash for this! I've started playing percentages again (nicer term for betting/gambling) to help raise spare money for either this alembic or a cataldo can you pay in installments?
  7. is there much difference between this bass and the starfire II?
  8. this growl would be perfect, does it growl like John Entwistle's in the Won't Get Fooled Again isolated bass video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hoa1kmO9Y-E
  9. cheers Ben! I saw a DI on sale at a reduced price so was still contempalting the two. Good to see the leeds offers versatility! that shiftline is interesting however
  10. Hi Tony, may I ask how this compares to the Leeds pre amp by Tech 21? I take it the amps in mint condition too? thanks! Taran
  11. thanks! Great tone I must admit, I saw a few reviews criticizing the cataldo's but I like what I see so far how much did yours cost (including shipping)? I'm torn between the explorerbird or the jaebird, your thoughts? I appreciate your input
  12. wow never heard of that Jaebird, will give it a try thanks! Cosmo Valdemar, which era does the tone replciate the most for you? I'd imagine the 70s, but pre or post Quadrophenia? He played a P bass on Quad didn't he?
  13. Hi guys In your humble opinins, which is the best 'Entwistle' guitar out there The Hybrid bass by Dean Guitars: http://www.deanguitars.com/query?upc=819998175542 The Spider bass by Dean Guitars: http://www.gak.co.uk/en/dean-john-entwistle-spider-bass-classic-black/98416?gclid=CjwKEAiApYGyBRC-g_jIstuduV8SJABCEzhZ71Zc_t5a5jFim-YujE6S02IzPOgvROSRmc3qCMmACBoCPIPw_wcB The Frankenstein bass by the Bass Centre: http://www.basscentre.com/british-bass-masters/the-bass-centre-frankenstein-bass.html Thanks! Taran
  14. how does this compare to a sansamp or a VT?
  15. cheers Danny nice one! I guess this would go nicely with the frankenstein bass they do over at the basscentre
  16. Entwistle's tone had changed by the time he got to Quadrophenia, can it replicate the growly tone of tracks such as The Real Me? that manual does say it can get a cruncy tone like in Won't Get Fooled Again I suppose
  17. how does the VT compare with a sansamp for growl? also Pow_22, how does your Casady Epiphone compare to your Fender?
  18. Thank you very much guys! All 3 guitars are available at tin pan alley, will try them all. I can get the epiphone and the Danelectro for the p4ice of the guild, interesting
  19. Ok guys, if i were to chuck a Jack Casady epiphone into the mix What would you say?
  20. Cheers essentialtension! Jack Casady rocked the guild! I'm gonna go to wunjo see if they have single coil, would suit my preference. Although would you say his tone in white rabbit was humbucker?
  21. 2010 reissues are single coils? Interesting indeed
  22. Cheers Billy, i think it may be worth looking into my p bass first. I forgot to mention its a squier haha You're right when i played the dano it was fun and at around £300 quid its not too bad an investment. Wunjo bass centre in london has both so I'll give them both a try
  23. Cheers mate fair enough I guess the fender model is good for a reason, mine just happens to be a cheap 2nd hand one. And with everyone's second bass, they look to try and pick one that goes with their own tone The action on mine is a bit too high for my liking too, although that might be a configuration problem as opposed to the fender itself.
  24. Thank you everyone for your replies! I guess it is a case of trying them both out. I tried the dano and loved its tone, i prefer a trebly dry tone that it offers, although i haven't tried a guild. This sounds like a repeates question, and i do realise its dependant on the individual, but what would the general consensus be when it comes to these two?
  25. Hey guys Thinking about changing up from my P bass to one of these, can anyone give me a good comparison between the two? Price doesn't matter Thanks!
