  1. 2011 G&L Tribute SB-2. The main thing about these that people have an issue with are the Vol-Vol controls and no Tone, although you could twiddle about with them to have an impact on tone..... apparently. I was bored one day so decided to change the controls to concentric stacked controls for each pickup so each one has Vol-Tone (like what you'd get on a Flea Jazz or a 61 Jazz, copy, reissue or original). The MFD pickups are both very high output as you'd expect and given the neck p-pickup is a four-wire, more tinkering can be done with it ๐Ÿ™‚ Weighs in at 9.2lb. No hard case but might be able to find a basic gig-bag for it. It's seen better days cosmetically as it was a working bass and the body needed buff up to get it glossy again. Having said that, you can still see the very fine lines and wear on the lacquer surface. Has a few dinks here and there too, but given it was used well, as it should be, and not sat in a room it has the marks you'd expect to see. I also didn't scratch off the 'Tribute' part of the decal, by the way. Despite any cosmetic issues that some people may have it plays great and is all set up with 100-45 rounds and good to go. Frets levelled... not that they needed much work on them, Monty's waxed fretboard and as seems to be the case with Tributes, a bass shim is in the neck pocket to offer more play at the bridge rather than the saddles being almost sat flat down. Can post if need be.
  2. 2019 Yamaha BB-734a in dark coffee sunburst in great condition, all fully set up with 105-45 rounds on so good to go and oiled fretboard. Comes in a Thomann non-original but surprisingly very good hard case. A fantastic playing and capable bass, but I played it more as passive.... I have a 2024X to do that though. Happy to post at buyers cost with a courier of their choosing if need be.

  3. I've popped it on my Watch List.... purely out of curiosity to see how high it ends up at. Four days to go with 17 bids and at ยฃ1200. I might even watch the last minute live just to see all the late bids fly in ๐Ÿ™‚
  4. Not everyday you see a Jaydee MK Supernatural in a charity shop ๐Ÿ™‚ A very generous donation from someone. https://tinyurl.com/2pn7mwza
  5. Rob sold me his Trace Elf cab this week. Great comms and superfast delivery.... Top man.
  6. Sire Marcus Miller Z7 in Burgundy and in excellent 'as new' condition. I bought this as my need to fill my StingRay type requirements with an added extra of what an extra pickup might contribute of needed, but seeing as I managed to get hold of a MM that does the b, this is sadly now surplus to requirements. The single coil does a decent P-Bass impression too when used on its own. I've also attached a pic of what the controls do. Home use only, never left the house (other than for the photos) and all set up with rounds on it and good to go. No case came with it but I may be able to find a gig-bag. Priced to sell as I think they're about ยฃ480-ish when 'proper new'. All info is online, but before I'm asked... it weighs in at 9.3lb (4.2kg). Happy to sort out postage if need and can go as cheap or expensive as any prospective buyer might want. It'll be well packaged as I have access to the other half's business packaging room along with cardboard guitar transit boxes.

  7. A nice Squier CV Bass VI bargain down near Salisbury way..... Pick up only, or I'd have had it already ๐Ÿ™‚ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/277051537690?_skw=bass+guitar&itmmeta=01JSA6NGFPGMSETTZ49629KMRT&hash=item40818ef91a:g:dysAAeSwH89oBSRd&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA0FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1d56Nu%2BViP8HV8aJiHcT2u%2BDyUVUUtTRI0U%2BJBf1%2FnHf%2FdjzM7JqKuOTbagTR%2BBXrcDIdzHy%2BD6i2OrWC9Jg6KhCbSLBktFY9wp3%2FPZiA86puVET0tZmFdlIx4v4qpoZwqq4umrGqknI8lLY4BJuirEAMjJy5C7aZ6tCSjo0cUxjj%2FIvY%2FKFKPR1t62ddkzislXqp%2FyCQkM65ANeDRoLzpLFKAejZugvpHzVDh6UjUFOuKyMEFDp0lRy%2Fx1RTpw6XI%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4yI1sbKZQ
  8. Bought a Micro-Thumpinator from Joel. Great comms and super-fast delivery..... Top man.
  9. Most days I'm available (not long retired soldier, so do as little as possible ๐Ÿ™‚), certainly from now until mid-April I'm about or can make myself available.
  10. Squier Precision 40th Anniversary Vintage Edition in excellent condition in a nice satin Dakota Red with a tinted satin maple neck and fretboard. I was bored one day so changed the loom to a push/pull-series/parallel set up.... It's still Vol & Tone but has the pull feature now to pop the humbucker into parallel, although to my ears the difference in tone is subtle and the output obviously drops a bit. It's never left the house since I bought it as it was the 'house bass' for a while so can't find a mark on it. Great basses with a nice subtle aging job from Squier on the chrome bits. All set up with 105-45 rounds on so all good to go. Weighs in at 9.5lb. Postage included, although I'll knock a few quid off if collected. Weighs in at 9.5lb.
  11. Late 2016 Yamaha BB1024X in good condition with a few light marks on the lacquer from normal use (what looks like a white scrape on the back is a reflection.... a very glossy body), and the chrome pickup surrounds are showing some tarnish. No case but I'll throw in a padded gig-bag. Having got fed up with the pickup toggle switch (in my view a weak part of these basses), I've had it wired up like a Jazz with Vol, Vol, Tone. I may have the original wiring loom somewhere and will include if I can find it. Tuners have been changed as it had an odd one when I got it which played havoc with my OCD, so had to do something about it. Postage included in the price, or I can take a smidge off if collected. A great bass and only selling because I have a BB2024X, so I can move this on to someone who'll make more use of it than I currently do.

  12. Schecter Raiden Special-4 in great condition (still got the plastic on the cavity cover). I bought this about ten years ago purely out of curiosity but now is the time to thin the herd. For a Schecter, other than the striking red quilted maple top, it's surprisingly 'un-metal'. It's a bit glossy so quite hard to get any non-reflective pics. The controls are Vol-Vol-Tone with the Tone having a Pull/Push split function on both pickups simultaneously, although each can have the volume separately controlled. The fairly high-output humbuckers give a nice tone, but can be split into single coils and it does a decent impression of a Jazz on both PUPs, a 'barky' Jazz bridge on the back PUP or a nice single coil P-Bass on the front PUP. The rosewood fretboard is oiled up and currently fully set-up with rounds. No case, but I'm sure I can find some kind of basic gig-bag. Weighs in at 8.5lb (3.8kg) and can look into posting if need be. Here are some specs that I could find.... Body: Solid basswood body with quilted maple top finished in Black Cherry Neck: Maple Fingerboard: Rosewood Neck Profile: Thin D Neck Thickness: 1st - 0.77" (19.5mm), 12th - 0.86" (21.8mm) Fingerboard Radius: 12.00" Nut Width: 1-5/8" (41.5mm) Scale Length: 34" Neck Details: Maple neck with unbound rosewood fingerboard and white dot inlays

  13. Harley Benton MV-MSB short-scale bass in a fetching shell pink with roasted maple neck and laurel fretboard. The headstock is plain without any decals as the thick pink finish had a chip so required a sand down and resprayed in a vintage tint nitro to fit in with the neck. This isn't the Gotoh version of their bass, but other than the tuners not being Gotoh, it's the same bass. The fretboard has had the Monty's Wax finish, the frets have been levelled and nut grooves filed down where needed. Currently set-up and good to go with rounds fitted. Weighs in at a fairly light 8lb (3.6kg) and can look at posting if required. Here's the info on it..... https://www.thomann.co.uk/harley_benton_mv_4msb_shell_pink.htm

  14. As above.... looks a bit wrong. Wrong string-tree, the late 70s decal looks a bit out of place, 21 frets and the angle of the top straight edge by the E tuner where it slopes down to the neck and nut looks too 'pointy'. Truss rod adjustment should be at the heel and even if that was just the truss rod 'plug' at the headstock end that had been gouged a bit, it wouldn't have one on a rosewood fretboard neck. Not too far from me so may drop him a line and go and have a look anyway..... even if it's just to break some bad news.
  15. Morning, I checked my DB599. When the comp is maxed out I can't reach unity gain. Similarly, with the gain up full I reach unity gain with the comp at three o'clock.
  16. Picked up a nice strap from Si this week. Great comms and fast delivery.
  17. TC Electronic SpectraComp in excellent condition c/w box and the paperwork they come with (they didn't come with a power adapter)..... Ideal for people like me as they only have one knob, but you can use the TonePrints available on the app or desktop to choose your preferred type of compressor. Price includes postage.
  18. Shin's Music Bass Master Preamp..... original box and paper stuff it came with (no power adapter though as it didn't come with one). Comes in its 'Grey Hammertone' finish, which is know to us all as Hammerite ๐Ÿ™‚ Used to live on my small pedalboard, which is no longer used so time to move it on. The finish on the base came off when I removed the velcro unfortunately (see pic), so it can be left as it is or touched up with some fresh Hammerite ๐Ÿ™‚ Oddly, the Drive Tone knob is located on the right hand side by where the instrument input is.... No idea why they did that. Price includes postage.
  19. MXR Custom Shop Timmy Min i Overdrive in excellent condition c/w original box and paper gubbins (no adapter though as it didn't come with one). Just one of my overdrive experiments before I decided I didn't need one. A great little pedal though which has both bass & treble controls which are both cut with the bass being pre-OD signal and the treble being post-OD signal..... no loss of bottom end on the OD and the treble can take some edge off. Quite a lot it can do for a little pedal that works as well on bass as it does guitar. Price includes postage.
  20. Bought a Plethora X1 from Dan this week..... good comms and fast delivery ๐Ÿ™‚
  21. Jim bought a pedal from me recently. Great comms, fast payment and very patient while we waited to see if someone before him who wanted it actually paid, which obviously didn't happen ๐Ÿ™‚ Highly recommended.
  22. The JHS NOTAKLON pedal kit all still boxed up. Only in this group as I know Klon-type pedals are sometimes used by some. I bought it as a good idea at the time but by the time it finally arrived I'd lost interest ๐Ÿ™‚ Price includes postage.
  23. MXR M288 Bass Deluxe Octave. Unboxed as I seem to have lost that, but in good condition. Has two tiny chips on a top edge.... one near the word 'Output' and the other on the same edge in-line with the footswitch (you'll need to zoom in a lot). Used to live on my pedalboard at one time. No power adapter as it didn't come with one. Price includes postage and here's the info.... https://www.jimdunlop.com/mxr-bass-octave-deluxe/
  24. TC Electronic Sub 'n' Up Mini Octave Pedal c/w original box and gubbins. Great little pedal but no longer needed as I use the one in the Plethora X1. No adpater as they don't come with one. Postage included and here's the info.... https://www.tcelectronic.com/product?modelCode=0709-AIC
  25. One Control Blue Hooker's Green Bass Machine complete with original box and gubbins.... Plus, the bag of little rubber feet. Apparently for the 'wide dynamic range of bass tube amps'. It's in 'as new' condition and hardly used as I prefer something a bit more 'toppy'. No power adapter as they don't come with one. Price includes postage. Here's the info..... https://one-control.com/products/hookers-green-bass-machine-4k
