A lovely '73 Mustang refinished tastefully in a Gold Sparkle. Original pots, pick ups, hardware etc. The obvious changes being the refin, and there has been some rewiring at some stage. The lacquer finish on back of the neck is partially worn, new owner may choose to sand it down but I like it as it is personally. A rock n' roll machine, the real deal. I take your point entirely, and do not want to seem evasive by any means...I always will try and give the benefit of the doubt to these people and companies who are working very hard. Perhaps I might send you a message to discuss?

Thanks Ash, that's good advice for sure. I will remain hopeful...but box was also fully labelled, so postcode alone would be enough to track it you would have thought. Even the manager of said company said it's a lost cause because if wrong sticker had been applied, then something awry would have happened with another package. This one was collected and vanished before reaching the local depot.

Thanks for the messages. I have to count my blessings at this time, worse things happen. But just wanted to put the word out in case members of the forum are offered it. And a cautionary tale...I had a good relationship or so I thought, and had sent things without issues for a long time.

It went through 3rd party carrier. All complicated but not looking good at present. It was an ebay sale, and not on here. I had to refund buyer and fully liable. A lesson learned...the hard way.

Been fully searched by company who I shall not name, but I shall never again send a Parcel through them, it has been a Farce and they have confirmed it is "lost." Was collected in Oxfordshire on way to Norwich. Never made it as far as Oxford depot. This was 4th August. There is more to this than I can really say, due to legal sensitivies, but just be careful when shipping is what I would say. And if you see a bass like it please let me know. Cheers

Heartbreaking scenario, but this bass was stolen from me, almost certainly by courier company. It was collected and scanned in...then vanished. Didn't even make it as far as local depot. A 120cm 9 kg item! So just replying in case you get offered a 2007 Duesenberg Starplayer that looks like this. Cheers

Fender were on top of their game at this point. The blonde finish on the body is beautiful: nicely translucent showing the grain as you can see in the pics, that looks very good with the rosewood fingerboard & 20 mid-jumbo frets. Bridge is string-through-body & pickup arrangement is a single P-style with volume & tone controls. This thing is so comfortable to play, the neck feels just great. As you can see in the pics, this is in mint condition - an as new USA P-bass in a cool colour at this price is as good as it gets! Only thing to note is a small chip in the paint near the horn strap button, otherwise cosmetically it is perfect. Comes with a hard case as seen in pics...

It was the last production bass designed by Leo Fender before he left the company. Probably the finest playing, and best looking basses I have had the pleasure of owning, and a very reluctant sale due to financial reasons. As the pictures indicate, the bass is in fine condition, with just the occasional ding and scrape as you would expect from a 50 year old instrument. The matching headstock is rare, and to purchase this bass would be a sound investment, as value will only increase over time. A truly stunning red Hofner '63 verythin bass. This has lived a fruitful, but by no means traumatic existence. It had only one previous owner prior to myself - a bassist in 60's military jazz band. It was sold to me by his daughter in law, in the original Selmer case it came It had literally under the bed for a long time prior to that. It was in superb condition upon me receiving it, although I noticed that the neck pickup did not have the same level of output as the neck. So my tech installed a "like for like" replacement genuine Hofner staple pickup in the bridge and put in a new volume pot. It now plays like an absolute dream, and the tech has been begging me not to sell it, but sadly I have some unavoidable financial commitments coming up. I have since been informed by a Hofner specialist that rewiring the pickup could have sorted the level problem. An all original Hofner 500/1 violin bass. This is definitely a 1970s model, I think late '70s because of the metal tuning pegs, 70s pickups, black control knobs, darker sunburst colour, "Hofner" logo on the scratch plate. As you may know, in those times, Hofner made no effort at all with serial numbers and the only way of dating an old Hofner is by educated guess of the sum of its parts. Previous owner looked after it well, not gigged heavily. Structurally, the bass is sound, see photo for one small dent on the back neck and a slightly unglued nut, none of which is structural and none of which affects playability. All the electronics are working well. There are no body cracks. Being a 40-year old bass, there are plenty little marks but again that's character. It has new Pyramids gold strings on it, the standard for Hofner basses. Sounds: FANTASTIC! Powerful thumpy Hofner and plays effortlessly. I really love the 70s pickups. It has its own original case which is good in terms of retaining the basses value, but not practical for transportation as they were notoriously thin. So, I will include in the price a brand new Hofner gig bag. Price also includes shipping within the UK. I can also post within the EU at cost. The price of all original Hofners with OHSC are often MUCH higher than this, but need funds to put towards a guitar asap, so priced for quick sale.
