  1. Super rare and sought after 1969 Les Paul bass, made at the Kalamazoo plant, MI, USA. This model of bass is often termed the Les Paul Recording, or the Les Paul Professional, however these were names of guitars; Gibson literature of the time only ever describes this model as a Les Paul Bass. It was a companion model to the Les Paul Personal and Les Paul Professional guitars. The production run of these basses was short, so not many of these about - everything on it is stock to the best of my knowledge, so a real investment piece. Famous users include Suzie Quatro. The pics tell you everything you need to know about the condition. This thing has been well loved, and the back of the body has had a bit of a scrape. Looking closely at the front of the body in the light, you will notice the lacquer has started to crack as befits an instrument approaching it's 50th year. It is not what you would describe as showroom condtion, but it has mojo in spades and looks incredible. Be aware that because of the high quality wood used in construction (including Brazillian rosewood), this is one heavy bass - not for the faint hearted. Here is the description and specification as appeared in the Gibson catalogue at the time: "The frequency response, range of harmonics and crips clear tones of the LP bass will exceed that of any electric bass on the market to date. This instrument is the only bass equipped with two low-impedance, humbucking pickups, and the slim single cutaway design is especially popular with todays groups. FEATURES: low impedance electronics and pickups. Clear grain British Honduras mahogany with center crossband body construction. Three piece laminated British Honduras mahogany neck construction. Buffed and polished clear walnut finish reveals all the fine grain-lined features of the basic wood. Brazillian rosewood fingerboard. Chrome-plated Schaller machine heads with sealed gears. Nickel-plated Tune-O-Matic bridge. 18¼" long, 14" wide, 2" deep; 30 1/2" scale, 24 frets" Comes with a modern Stag hard case. UK mainland shipping would cost approximately £25, and would be willing to ship abroad at buyer's expense. 3. Beautiful example of a Fullerton plant CBS era USA Mustang, stipped back to a natural wood finish. Serial number dates the bass to 1977-78. All stock parts. Clearly signs of being roadworn and well loved as seen in the pics, but why would you have it any other way? This thing has serious mojo. Plays great and in good shape, having been recently set up and restrung by a top guitar tech. 4. BUMP! I'm knocking a huge 130 quid off this weekend only for my basschat brothers and sisters. So that's 520 quid for this 60's hollow body beauty. What say you?
  5. Dudes...this is still only £120 for this quirky and beautiful thing. Come on!
  6. Crazy price drop! Yours for just £120. Am I mad? I think so.
  7. Right then. Vintage Ibanez Roadster. PRICE DROP! Yours for £130 collected (can meet in a variety of locations). Doesn't have a case, but could source a cheap 2nd hand one and post at your expense.
  8. Near Abingdon Oxforshire, mate. Would be willing to source a hard case and post for the original price of £175 if interested.
  9. Sorry for the spam Project C. I haven't experienced that with photobucket. Anways, decided to drop the price to £150 which is a steal! Anyone?
  10. Ibanez Roadster, made in Japan in 1979. In good condition, sounds great. Appears to have been refinished, but a lovely colour. Currently has flat wound strings, but I will change to regular Ernie Balls for no extra cost. I think the previous ownner mentioned an upgraded pick up but cannot be certain. Priced for a quick sale. 11. Stunning vintage Baldwin (Burns) hollow body bass, which is a great looker and a fantastic player. Matching colour double bass style headstock. In remarkable condition for an instrument that is approaching its 50th birthday. All original parts and OHSC. The Baldwin 704 bass was made between in the late 60's by Burns. The 704 had an Italian made ES-335 style body, with the new style Baldwin neck made in the USA. The double trapeze tailpiece has a Baldwin "B" on it. Pickups are 2 double polepiece units. The basses were assembled in the UK. A couple of small dings as seen in pics. Previous owner had fixed a decorative cross to the neck as seen in pics (which I personally like) but this could be removed according to taste. Would be willing to ship at buyers expense. 15. Looks like it is sold now - thanks for reply though.
  16. OK. Saturday bargain offer. A vintage CBS Fullerton era bass. Olympic white, showroom condition w/ OHSC. £600. Yowza!
  17. This seemed to vanish from the listings, or at least I cannot see it. So bump!
  18. Immaculate example of a late 70's musicmaster in olympic white. Very nearly showroom condition. A shortscale bass as you probably all know. You'd struggle to find one in this condition. Very reluctant sale. Any questions just let me know. 22. Hi All, New to this forum and a bit of a luddite when it comes to understanding what amp head could be matched with a cab without blowing it out. About to do some shows, and want a portable-ish set up. I have an Ampeg 1x15 cab, and I love the sound of the new Orange OB1 rackmountable heads - they do a 300w and a 500w version. However I note that the 1x15 cab only has 200w putput. Would either (or neither) of the OB1's described above perform OK with my cab? I have read conflicting reports about mismatch between head and cab output. We tend to keep stage volume fairly low, so we won't be hammering the cab. Kinda got my heart set on either the 300/500w version of the OB1, but open to suggestion if you can think of a more suitable (and portable) alternative. Thanks for reading, any advice greatly appreciated! Nick Cobretti
