  1. I still enjoy Dave’s World of fun Stuff. He is a bass player and much of his repair work is on basses. How many times can you watch the neck being sorted and the action improved. In my case, quite a lot and I still can’t remember which way to turn the truss rod to reduce the neck relief.

  2. Don’t I remember that not so long ago you were going all 6 string Ibanez, then you reverted back to 4 string Jazz basses and now you’re going short scale! What’s with the big changes @FinnDave?

  3. Having sold my Rebop and traded my Spectorcore I have been without a Spector for a while. But now my very generous brother has offered to give me his Coda so when he brings down in July I’ll be a Spector player again 😆

I’m hoping the Jazz bass with add better definition with more high mids played finger style

    Fingers crossed hey !!

You’ll probably get better definition if you don’t play with your fingers crossed 🤣🤞

  5. There is a correct height, the following is from the Fender Support page online:

Setting pickups too high can cause a number of unusual occurrences. Depress strings at last fret. Using a 6" (150 mm) ruler, measure the distance from the bottom of the first and fourth strings to top of the pole piece. A good rule of thumb is that the distance should be greatest at the fourth-string neck pickup position and closest at the first-string bridge pickup position. Follow the measurement guidelines from the chart below as starting points. The distance will vary according to the amount of magnetic pull from the pickup.

Note: Larger string gauges need wider vibrational allowances. If you have a five-string bass or are using heavier-gauge strings, your measurements must be increased accordingly.
