  1. Hopefully the title is not misleading again! I'm hoping to get a 410 cab one day and have been looking online for something that looks tasty and reasonable priced.
Currently I use 100w 115 Fender Rumble and I find the sound and performance satisfying.
Now, I like both barefaced and ampeg 410 but barefaced is nearly twice as expensive as the ampeg but ampeg has been around donkeys years. How do you guys choose your cab?I don't gig but from aesthetical point of view I GAS for a 410.

On the serious note. Thanks everyone who voted for me and voted at all.I really enjoyed this despite my music taste being different.Tbh my song was unfinished and originally planned to record wah guitar riffs to beef it up. The bass was recorded several times p bass and jazz bass but eventually I decided to keep the jazz bass sound as it sounded growly. Can't wait for the next challenge.

  3. I was always impressed with Orange guitar amps especially the Orange terror range. I like the look of it too. Unfortunately, the bass range never appealed to me.
After reading this thread and having received comments to my posts I did a bit of You Tube research and I sort of want the stroke 4 300w range. It seems to sound great and looks great.
I can see it being paired up with barefaced 410 cab with cloth cover. So I take back the early conclusion I have made.

+1 for the Steve Harris it just sounds huge with loads of presence. I use the sig strings too, they take some getting used to but the sound cuts like nothing else.

I use Matt Freeman with manufacturer fitted pick ups and Steve Harris sig strings. It sounds great to fit my punk rock style I play.

However I also play Steve Harris royal blue sig model with spb4 sig puck ups and sig strings. The sound is massive and beefy.

Robbins Timber will do you 50 x 200mm ash for £23.06 a metre; I guess you could make a three piece body from 1.5m or so? But if it was me, I'd want to see the boards before buying, to make sure you got a nice straight-grained bit, preferably quarter-sawn. So I'd be more inclined to find a local furniture-maker or woodyard where you can pick the right board from a stack.

Cheers. There's one nearby in Kent but a bit pricey.

  6. I've got the Olympic white version. I loaded it with spb4 pick ups then spb1.Eventually I put back the original pick up and kept everything else as it came, apart from the strings which are Steve Harris sig flatwounds. They gone dead for a while but seem to get better with age.I'd like another one of these for a project. These basses are definitely a keeper.
