  1. I have a EHX Bass Blogger which doesn't like being on my pedal board, it makes a sound like an earth hum when I switch on the effect. I have a Tech 21 Double Drive which I have out on loan at the moment and just wanted some feedback about the suitability of using this for bass or should I buy something `bass dedicated'?

  2. I did 2 deals in quick succession with Jack; bought his Barefaced Compact, then traded for his Barefaced Midget. Very straightforward transaction and honest person to deal with. I would have no hesitation to buy or trade with Jack again.

I've wired the new balance pot as per the previous replacement and the bridge pickup isn't working. To be honest it looks as if the original red wire from the front PU is missing. Wondered is the wiring for the non original replacement that was in the bass was different?

  4. Hello Folks

I need to replace the pan on my BBNE1. I bought the bass second hand and the pot isn't an original and need help with how to wire the new (yamaha) pot. My mate who is an electrical engineer has done the work, but he seems to think one of the wires from the bridge pickup is missing? So if anyone has a schematic or a photo of the inside of a BBNE1 I'd be very appreciative of a copy?

  6. Did a Dep for a Band back in the 90's at a local Fair Day. Finished our set and deposited my Wal bass on my guitar stand. While I was getting my case the bassist from the next band tried to move my amp and up turned the Wal face down into the stage. Managed to be gracious, although on later inspection the lacquer had cracked on the back of the headstock and my bridge pickup stopped working. Whilst on Holiday I visited Wal in High Wickham, they repaired my bass the same day and did a set up and restring ........... all for £60. Legends.

  7. Just bought Kenny's Squire VM Jazz Fretless, very open and honest communication and very well packed for posting. Transaction was easy and friendly, he comes highly recommended.

  8. Hello

i have the aforementioned EUB and I'm looking for a more traditional sound without having to buy the `real deal'. What strings are the best way to go? I was thinking of Gut a Like as they look good value. I must point out that I'm not working at the moment and cost is an issue!

  9. Just bought Sam's Breedlove Solo BJ350/CMe4; Straight forward transaction, prompt delivery, well packed and everything as it should be. A new arrival to Basschat and I would have no hesitation in dealing with Sam again, kept me informed of the delivery and a man of his word. He got it to me in time for my Birthday, so an added bonus for me, although I don't think there will be much work done today!

  10. Tony

I'll give it a go, but there doesn't seem to be much out there. I'm still in the same Bands, but interest in playing seems to be waning what with the difficulties in getting Gigs these days and Band members retiring; it’s obviously an age thing!

We are all well, and you?

  11. As you will gather, I'm looking for a Band as I'm at a `loose end' at the moment. My musical taste is eclectic, and my recent playing history covers the Blues, Soul and Funk area, but I'll have a go at anything.

Not that age is important, but I'm 54, therefore no spring chicken. I have my own transport and a nice selection of basses and amps etc.

I live 10 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne, but travelling isn't a problem, as long as it's not too far!

    Thanks for looking.

  12. Contacted John on Sunday, some emails regarding my requirements, and here we are on Tuesday with a Precision Loom fitted and sounding sweet.

I'm sure I'll be back next time I need some electrics sorted?

    Thanks again John
