No one has mentioned the great Girls Against Boys, also a 2 bassist band 👍👍

Up for sale is this passive Sterling by Music Man Pete Wentz signature StingRay bass in a very eye catching Fiesta Red finish. I had a change of heart and withdrew my 40th anniversary Squier Jazz ad recently, so have put this up for sale as although I love it, it's the bass getting used least with my band and I've recently bought another bass. This is a very cool, passive StingRay in fantastic condition (small scratch on the back of the headstock pictured in the only sign of wear), with one of my favourite necks I've ever had on any bass. Roasted maple, stays straight throughout all seasons and feels great in the hand for those who like a chunkier bass neck. This also comes fitted with Dunlop Straploks and crucially; high quality Schaller BM tuners to replace the stock tuners which were to be blunt, utter garbage. As a passive bass with a single humbucker with just volume and tone controls it's less versatile than a regular StingRay, but it sounds great and it's a snarling rock beast that you can also get a lot of mellower tones out of. You will get most tonal variety from how and where in relation to the pickup you play it, rather than the tone control to bring out the dynamics of the fat sounding pickup. Also comes with a good quality Ritter gig bag; has a broken handle (as pictured) but all other straps and handles are in good working order. I would much prefer collection in person or half-way meet if you're reasonably close to Brighton in the South East. However, I do have a sturdy cardboard box to send this in so could look into sending at an additional cost to the buyer, and at their own risk (as it's not in a hard case so can't be insured by courier services). Please see my feedback for assurance of past honest dealings on the forum: Any questions, send me a message. Thanks.

Agreed. He is also partly the reason that I bought a Warwick Streamer 😜

Classic era Scorpions bassist Francis Buchholz has sadly passed away after a battle with cancer: https://blabbermouth.net/news/original-scorpions-bassist-francis-buchholz-dead-at-75 😞😞 Cool guy, cool basslines. Scorpions were never as good once Francis and drummer Herman Rarebell left the band in my view.

Up for sale is this lovely 40th Anniversary Jazz Bass in Seafoam Satin Green, I don't want to sell this but I've just bought a Warwick Streamer so sadly this beauty has to go. These basses are truly astounding for the cost, and play and sound better than Mexican Fenders. The neck is amazing and the bass been fitted with high quality hardware and pickups: a Gotoh 201B-4 bridge, Gotoh FB30 tuners and DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups and a set of Dunlop Straploks. I also fitted a Tortoiseshell pickguard; the original Gold Anodized pickguard is also included with the bass. This bass has been gigged by me and use for many rehearsals and comes up with the goods looking, feeling and sounding like a far more expensive instrument in both settings. It has been well looked after so is in very good condition. Collection or half-way meet up in the South East is preferred as this only has a soft case and subsequently I couldn't insure it to send. Any questions, let me know. Here is my feedback from previous sales:

I'm not grading anything. I'm talking about players whose playing connects to me most on a personal level, related to topic of the thread. As with any form of art and music, everyone has their favourites and it can make for an interesting discussion. -

His playing on Jimmy Smith's Root Down live album is pretty damn great too. I would say for me Joseph 'Lucky' Scott from Curtis Mayfield's band and George Murray from Bowie's classic 70s era would just edge Wilton for two of my picks for greatest bassists of the 70s. That is if we're talking less well known, less acclaimed players of that decade. So, not the guys who would regularly top Bass Player magazine polls for best bassists - Geddy, Jaco, Anthony Jackson, John Paul Jones and the like. -

For sale are a set of Fender PJ pickups with mounting screws in very good condition taken from my Japanese Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass. We have a Fender Standard Split Single Coil Precision Bass set along with a Fender Standard Single Coil Jazz Bass Bridge Pickup. These are good sounding, quality pickups, I only changed them because I have a clear idea of what sound I want for this configuration based on having used DiMarzio Model Ps in the past. The set is going for £75 including postage in the UK only. Here's my feedback thread:
