3. Gig at The Clay Pipe, Leighton Buzzard on Saturday 13th February. 9.00pm. 60's covers band.
4. I'm not particularly well up on bass pedals so wonder if anyone has tried the new version Digitech Bass Whammy pedal. I currently have a TC Electronic 250 combo and have downloaded a drop octave tone print which i'm using on 3 or 4 songs with my band in practise, but I need to duplicate for gigs. The current set up plays both the normal note plus the dropped octave blended together on Come Together for example, which sounds brilliant. Will the Bass Whammy duplicate that dual note effect I want or just do a single note one octave up or down on the foot bar or will it retain the original note and blend the two as i want? If not can anyone suggest a good octave drop pedal instead which will blend the tow notes. I just fancy the idea of the Whammy as the new version has a load of other options as well but all the You Tube demos insist on banging the foot pedal up and down as quickly as possible to sound like a wha. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
5. I have a boxed set (used) of EMG-PJX active pick-ups going spare in black. I had these from new (cost £130 at the time) and had them in an old Bass Collection bass (original 80's Jap version) for a while and since then they they have sat in the box unused. A local shop fitted them and then removed them later for me and as far as I can tell, all the wiring and bits are there except for the push fit solder free connectors which caused some imbalance of output on the bridge pick-up and EMG tech support suggested they would be better hard wired and soldered, which sorted it. I put the old pick-ups back in before I sold the Bass Collection. I see they are currently for sale new on the web for between £111 to £136 so thought about £40 would be fair as they've had very little use. Open to offers though to a good home. Call me on 01908 66369901908 663699 or 07971 05206507971 052065 if you need more info and see this link to EMG's relevant info on these. 6. Hi, How old is the amp and does it have any cracks or damage to the notorious buttons which seem to cause trouble with these. Where are you based as I'm looking for one of these and prefer to collect if possible. if too far away, have you an idea of the shipping cost. Cheers, Nick 017971 052065 (NickMK1)
7. Can't understand why I'm not getting much interest for this as they cost well over £500 new and are great cabs, so a Price Reduction - Hartke HyDrive HX 410 bass cab for sale £250 ono. Hartke HyDrive HX410 cab in good order for sale as it is not used now and has been in the spare bedroom taking up space. Due to a bad back problem I’ve switched to a lighter Barefaced BB2. Purchased new just over 4 years ago and only very lightly gigged in my 60's covers band. New ones are costing from £500 Thomman to £567 at GAK. All in good condition except for three or four very light scuff marks on the Tolex covering (hardly noticeable) and a replacement retaining nut on one of the rear jack sockets, and all in good working order and with Roqsolid cover included. 1000 watt max output at 4ohms (wired to 8 ohms standard so doubled up with a second cab would give maximum output) from 4 x10” 250 watt neodymium lightweight drivers with half and half aluminium / paper cones and a 1” titanium compression driver with three way switch adjustment. All as per the Samsontech website for this item (but can provide some photos if you want them). http://www.samsontec...-cabinets/hx410 I am reducing the asking price to £250 or near offer for a quick sale straight sale. Pick up in Milton Keynes preferred (courier or packaging would be costly I think) or may be able to meet half way. Message me or call 07971 052065 if you need more info. NickMK1
8. In our contemporary covers band, my daughter and her drummer both use the LD MEI 100G2s with expensive moulded in ear triple driver earpieces for Claire (lead singer) but the standard out of the box earpieces for Jamie. They rate this unit very highly. It costs about £156.00 for the standard transmitter unit and standard set of earpieces. It will take up to 8 recievers (bought separately). Not tried the other two but the MEI 100G2s are the latest version and £100.00 cheaper than the MEI 1000 unit you are looking at. In truth most of it is in the actual quality of the earpieces - single drivers are OK but twin or triple drivers give better results. Hope that helps. NickMK1
9. Hi, I have a Hydrive 410 cab coupled with an HA3500. Used extensively over the last 3 years and very pleased with the sound. I've had the cab rewired to 4 ohms to take advantage of the full 350 watt output and louder than I have ever needed. Tend not to use the tweeter as very bright in use. (3 way switch). I'm playing in three very different style bands and between the amp and cab can get a very nice sound for toppy contemporary covers stuff, warm mellow sound 60's covers and large variety for 80's and 90's covers with my functions band stuff. I'm also using a Hartke boost / drive pedal (very good and under rated). One driver blew quickly and was replaced under warranty. No problems since. Pretty bullet proof I think. NickMK1
10. Just bought a GB Streamliner 600 from Paul S this morning. Met half way at Mick's in Hatfield as Paul was buying a bass guitar from him. Two nice guys. Mick let me try out the amp with his gear (thanks Mick), everything as described and in good working order, and the deal was very straightforward. Its great when a plan comes together. Thanks guys. Nick

12. Hi, my pal Ray contacted you earlier on my behalf. Could you let me know how old the amp is and confirm it's all in good working order. I've heard Rays 900 version and am impressed. Ray suggested I Ring you in the morning so will do that but thought I'd make contact. Cheers. Nick
