  3. i just want to add how trustworthy victor is, victor needed the bass i had for sale next day it cost extra money to send the bass straight away, victor very kindly paid me the extra cost involved after receiving the bass from me , you just could not deal with anyone more honest , incredible honesty in this day and age. thanks again victor. george

  5. hi again, i have the bridge and the pick up cover , dont have the pickups as the tech from guitar guitar kept them as part of the upgrade, the scratch plate was not altered at all, it is the genuine tortoise shell, the backplate was upgraded to the fender f also. all in all the upgrades were £300 and the vintage case on top of that also. there is a huge range of tone from the bass before any amps etc are involved , it really shows up the frequency range when i play my 70,s jazz bass, this thing has a much wider range in particular the bottom end it has huge sound at the bottom thats just missing on the jazz, i guess thats why bass players have both. if i can help you further just let me know. cheers george
  6. hi, nope those are upgrades fitted by guitar guitar. its been done properly and sounds awesome , it blows my jazz bass away in the bottom end, this bass is so easy to play, i will be sad to see it go. hope that helps . i have just restrung the bass today with rotosound swing 66 , 45-105 cheers george

  8. you know i never thought i would say this, but i had blinkers on i always purchased rickenbackers and at £1700 a pop not cheap, i then questioned myself for the first time are these basses worth this amount of money, as the bass i recently purchased 4003 was not satisfying me in the sound dept!!! so i started looking at the fender jazz basses, i was amazed at how good they felt, played and sounded compared to the rickenbacker. i have sold the ric, purchased a 70s fender jazz installed a badas II bridge. what a sound honestly it just blows the rick away, might not be as pretty but if it is pure sound you want the fender wins, and i could almost buy three of those basses for one rickenbacker. i am glad i took the path i did. the most important thing is this bass i have feels right and sounds right thats all that really matters.
  9. been playing the bass for a few hours now and i can confirm , its night and day, before the bass did sound nice but now it is just awesome, i really thought hard before i did this i had a decent sounding bass before the change, and had a fear that i would muck it up!!! but i am so glad i had the balls to go through with it as the bass is now a monster tone , it really is a huge difference, it took a bit of adjustment in the height of both pickups (lowering in fact) tuning is spot on , everything just sounds so much more musical , and to me thats what counts, the reason i changed was it made sense to upgrade something i could do myself , the bridge that came with the bass was ok but there is not much to it !!! with the difference in weight of the badass i was sure it would make an impact on the sound of the bass, i am pleased to report it makes a huge difference, money well spent. cheers guys george
  10. thanks guys job successfully completed , and it was really easy to do , i can hear a difference in the clarity of the notes and i think a bit more bottom end and sustain does go on forever , and it does look cool also, cheers and thanks for the input. george

  14. hi guys, has anyone fitted the badass 2 bridge to a fender 70s bass, as the bridge pick up has been moved nearer the bridge on these models, and it does not look like much room to spare, be good to know it has been done as i purchased both the bass and the bridge, i had to take it as it was the last bridge available to buy . cheers george
