1. Barefaced Bass? http://barefacedbass.com/ (Alex Cobler here makes those.)
2. I had the Ibanez SR506, with Bart pickups and electronics, great woods, gorgeous full sound, bargain for the price.
3. They sure did have dodgy tastes back then. Anyway, hello everyone! I'd like to sell this Boss CE-2B bass chorus pedal. It's a very appreciated chorus, much sought after. Thing is it only applies the chorus effect to some part of the spectrum (they talk about harmonics, but it doesn't make sense to me as sound is all about harmonics), keeping the bottom end clean. You can dial a very discrete chorus which you'll barely hear but will make the tone much more beautiful or you can be more extreme and get a Jaco-sound very easily. It's in perfect working condition, physical condition is good but keep in mind it's 20 years old The bottom rubber pad is missing and has been replaced with 2 velcro strips by the former owner so I can't say if it's Japanese or Taiwanese. Pots work perfectly fine, overall just a few scratches and the Boss CE-2B inscription tends to fade away slightly. More details here : http://www.bossarea.com/loadpage.asp?file=boxes/ce2b.xml Reviews : http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...ass+Chorus/10/1 I'll post pictures very soon. I'd like to leave it for 49£ and postage is free! Cheers!
4. Suede strap! Also, you can try to play with the bass strapped a bit higher and play with your right forearm pushing on the body a bit. I used to do that (along with suede strap) on my Ibanez 6stringer and it was just fine.
5. You can still ask the seller to give you a refund, most probably they haven't dispatched the item yet. Keep me posted
6. Hello everyone, I've got this Tech 21 VT Bass that I'd like to sell, not because it's not good (it growls!) but because I just don't use it. I've just used it a bit at home, I got it new just a few weeks ago. Not a scratch, it's as new, really. It comes with the original metal box (classy!), instruction manual, warranty registration card and most importantly : a Tech 21 sticker. How cool is that, seriously? Usually £125 on the Internet and it's in the exact same condition I got it recently (=new), I'd like to sell it for 99£ - free postage in the UK. Cheers, F.
7.
Another vote for Claber's Compact then. Stupid light. And good with Kiwi's Shuttle too. Lightweight Wiki.
I'm seriously considering that, and Alex is very nice and takes the time to discuss his cab, that's really cool. And I happen to have a Shuttle. Really, I can't wait to try it (very sooooon!).
8.
Right, I understand you better now. The cab I'm referring to is this: http://www.barefacedbass.com/ It's my own design and I took the first production model along to the SE Bass Bash last Saturday: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=28436 I have a couple almost finished and another four in various stages of progress. Alex
I like it a lot. Really. Seems like great quality and not too pricey. PM'ed you
I use a couple of these and they put out a great sound for such a small box, although they aren't exactly light by todays standards. I found a pair on eBay quite recently actually - they do still seem to pop up from time to time, so worth a try if you can find one.
I'm constantly lurking on Ebay You don't happen to sell any of yours by any chance?
Aparently it's quite safe to go outside the M25, in daylight anyway
Thing is the brand of my car is TFL
9. I can't go to Bass Direct because it's a bit far away from London, but I'll try and go to the Bass Gallery. Hopefully they'll have some Aggies DB112 as their price sounds like music to my ear - I just hope they actually sound as good as the price tag is low. I read that Eden has some midrangey cabs too. I'm also looking for an Ampeg SVT-12HE but it looks like they're discontinued and impossible to find! Any idea where to grab one? Cheers!
10.
There is info on lots of 112 cabs on the basschat wiki. I like my Genz Benz Shuttle Neox112T rig but you might find it a bit hifi. Might be worth taking a trip up to Mark as Bassdirect to try the GB and Berg cabs.
These are very neutral and hifi sounding, right?
11. Well, if it cuts through the mix it doesn't to be tremendously loud But I know what you mean, it may sound confusing, deep, midrangey and bright at the same time What I mean is : not boomy and sterile but still able to provide good lows, with a grunty gritty growly midrange and overall clarity Which 15" are you talking about? What about the Aguilar DB112? Thanks for your replies, keep'em coming!
12.
I haven't got the money for a pedal, but I gotta say...I FREAKIN LOVE YOUR AVATAR!!
Muahaha thanks Stole it from somewhere else, of course
13. Hello there! I'm just looking for a nice lightweight 112 cab and read many subjects about this on the forum, but I thought I'd ask anyway, because it seems like most people want their 12" to be hifi sounding I'm after a sound with a personality. Midrangy, growly, but also deep, articulate and bright... a bit of a mix between modern and vintage sound. I thought a 112 would be a good compromise since I would like to use it as a standalone cab. I'd like it to cover most of a bass' usable spectrum, be deep enough and yet bright and growly (à la Geddy Lee). If it could be not too much on the heavy side, I'd appreciate it. My bass : P-Bass Special. The amp : Genz-Benz Shuttle 3.0. The GB could provide the modern clarity and bright punch, and the P-Bass and the cab account for thump and the growl, basically - does it make any sense at all? Which standalone 112 cab would you recommend me? I've been looking through pretty much every info on 12" cabinets on the web and a few of them drew my attention, but I'd like to get your opinion on the matter. Price is not a problem... well I just want to know your opinion first Cheers!
14. I'll see if it goes on Ebay and then I'll get back to you if it's not gone ok? Cheers!
