1.
Could you tell me what the internal height from the bottom of the bag to the underside of the larger tray support wedge is Jenny.
Just measured it. Approximately 37 cm. The tray above that is approx 16 cm.
 2.
Is the lid on this solid?
Nope. The base of the inner removable tray is solid.
 3.
More importantly is it big enough to hold MY makeup bag??
Depends how much work you need done. Every girl needs emergency lippy and a can of Impulse.
 4. Now Sold. For sale. My Gator GX20 gig wheelie case. You probably know Gator cases well. This is one of these: http://www.gatorcase...16146-695/gx-20 I used it to take all my other "stuff" into a gig. Cables, effects pedals, power leads - a change of top and my make up bag! It's really deep, so you can get loads of things in it. There's a separate pull out top case where you can keep the quick to get at things - like plectrums and batteries etc. It makes packing into the car nice and easy. It was my go to little cupboard at a gig and it is a place to store it all neatly at home. Nice wheels and a pull up handle. Makes carrying heavy things easier. I'd rather it was picked up from Southampton or I can deliver it along the south coast from Bournemouth the Worthing (and up a bit). Can post at cost (which would be about £8.50 inc VAT). 5. All of the below have now been sold! I have four heavy duty PA speaker stands for sale. Looking for £10 for each of them or £30 for all of them. I'll include a heavy duty speaker bag per couple. I also have a lighting T-Bar adapter which could turn one of those into a lighting T-bar for two or four par cans (also looking for £10 for that). 6. It's not usually my kinda music. I'm more 70s punk and new wave ........ but! This album is breathtaking! I've had it on repeat in the car for a few days. Makes me shiver listening to it. Some of it has had me in tears. The production is amazing, the songs are varied and powerful. This chick can do it - BIG TIME! There is a song on there called "When We Were Young" which could be the best song evaaar! Better than 21 if you ask me - and that is the 20th best selling album of all time (bet sales of that will increase on the back of this too). Fastest selling first week in the UK ever. Fastest selling first week in the US ever. A lot of people complain that you can't make it in the music industry nowadays - or that there's no music industry to make it in! Pah! I say. If you are this good - you can make it.
 7.
There's a bit of the story about the end of Trace Elliot here. Interesting article to boot.
It's kinda contradicted by some of the info on this page though. Curiously, he doesn't mention Clive Button anywhere.
 8. First impressions? Reminds me of that time I went to a corporate event and had a go at driving a monster truck in a field. I can drive a car just fine, but the monster truck? Oh, it was a bit big and scary, with funny controls - and I couldn't really get it moving. But after a while, some patience and a few tips from the instructor I got all the way 'round the field. Slowly, but I managed it in the end. I think this will be more or less the same.
 9.
£365? where did you get that from Jenny? Uprite is something i intend to be looking into when funds allow
I found it in stock here for £365 - but asked Andertons if they would price match and they did. 10.
Welcome to the wonderful world of upright bass. You'll have a blast.
Thank you. I have spotted that music is a bit more eclectic here are uni - so thought I'd hang with the cool dudettes. I sort of plan to have a proper full-on acoustic bass at one point - as I think they look the coolest thing when people play them. But that'll be way down the line, as I don't really have the space and I thought I'd dip my toe in the water first. For £365 (sort of decent Squier P bass money) - couldn't resist. I have to say, looking at it initially - it looks very well-made for the money. It's also very cool looking. I mean uber cool. I intend to catch a couple of lessons from one of the lecturers here (he's an upright Jedi master) - in return for some assistance with his study computer network (at that, it's me who's the ninja).
 11. Why not, thought I. Scored a new Stagg EUB. It's a bit of a thing. Had a quick twiddle. Oh, it's gonna take a bit of time. I love it! https://www.cincopa....OL&skin=restumb
 12.
I have a set of quite nice DB strings that the previous owner cut to fit an EUB (a fact he neglected to mention when he sold them to me). I forget the brand but they are decent quality and flexible in a TI Jazz flats way. Anyway, you're welcome to them if it helps ease the transition to DB. C
13.
I meant the one titled 'Stagg!!!' - there's about 18 pages so happy reading... David.
14.
EUB strings - there are loads of choices. I replaced a string on my EUB with an 'Innovation Honey' - and was pleased with the result as it sounded reasonably like an acoustic bass. A set will cost around 90 quid. (Unless you want to play Rockabilly/slap style, in which case there are specialist strings for this.) Again, the Stagg thread will probably come to your aid here. think there are issues about some manufacturers strings not fitting the Stagg, see the thread for details.
Which one is "The Stagg thread" - there are quite a few.
 15.
I know, that was my point! In my experience, the output (and likely impedance if your EUB has a piezo pickup) can be wildly different between the upright and a normal passive bass, so you may need to get used to dialling in totally different settings on your amp. I play gigs where I play both EUB and bass guitar, and have been experimenting with various A/B switchers with gain and EQ to try and match them up a bit better. EDIT: Not sure if different basses is relevant in your case, but thought it worth mentioning....
I tend to play via a Line 6 X3 Live multi fx board - so, I'll just dedicate a bank or two to the eub. I can tweak the gain and volume per patch and everything - so should be okay.
 16. I hear the stock strings on the Stagg ain't great. Which site(s) can I look at for replacements ...... which don't break the budget?
 17.
I love the sound of my NXT through my Retro 210's
Well I have a Retro210 and a Compact - but one of my lecturers (who plays jazz) is looking to offload one of his AER bass amps which I'm going to look at later this week.
 18. OK. I scored a Stagg EUB from Andertons (who matched the lowest in stock price I could find) - cool. A black one which seems to be de rigueur fo the type. The head scratching and umms and aahs start tomorrow when it is due to arrive. I might even have found a suitable bass combo for it too.
 19.
Cellos can be tuned to other than their 'standard' tuning, if required. Not very classical, but then, what's 'classical' in rock..?
What's rock in barber shop?
 20.
".........It may be that the EUB you first played wasn't particularly well set up. Or it was set to its' owners preferences.... "
I have never played an EUB. I was referring to a proper double bass that a guy in a jazz band at the university has. He let me have a quick play. Although I could do a mean Walk Like and Egyptian on it - walking stuff like Heartbreak Hotel was a bit of a challenge. The action was mega high - he thought it was normal, but has never played anything other than that actual double bass. I figure I might have a go at an EUB as me and a couple of girls on my course at uni fancy doing a weird girly barber shop thing. The other two have weird and cool instruments - so I figured it would be best to mothball the Precisions and get with the programme.
 21.
They can usually be adjusted that way but they don't all come with low action, especially at the cheaper end of the market. Are there particular models you're looking at?
I haven't got that far yet. I was thinking of going budget to dip my toe in the water - just in case it's a fad of mine (again).
 22. Hi - I'm thinking about getting one of these electric upright basses. I have a question. I've played a 3/4 size upright before - and found the action a bit high and it was a bit difficult to play. I mean I could play it a bit - but it was a bit of a chore. I know that's a bit of a naive comment - and that I shouldn't expect to compare it to my precisions and jazzes. But hey, I'd like to make things as easy as I can. Do these eub things have strings closer to the fretboard than the average acoustic upright?
 23.
So this guy sent you a picture of his knob...
Name and shame time. Here's yet another man who thinks it is okay to make penis jokes on a teenage girl's thread. It's tiresome mate. A form of bullying. Please stop.
 24. I mentioned before that the control knobs on my RH750 kept falling off. Now two of them have snapped. I contacted TC Electronic through their online portal and despite the amp being 6 months out of warranty, I got the following amazingly good reply:
Thank you for contacting TC Electronic Support and for using TC Electronic.

I am sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with your RH750. This issue is normal. We have had some problems with the first knob generation. Since summer 2014, we changed previous knob for a completely new designed knob. The plastic material is better and the fastening system improved. It is more reliable. Of course, all amplifiers released from this date do not have this knob issues anymore while the previous copies as yours get this issue because they did not receive the newest knob model.

I attached a picture with my Email in order to compare the old knob (down) and the new one (up). You can appreciate the difference between both knobs.

If you give me your address, I would be glad to send you a complete set of new knobs.

In the meantime, I wish you a good day.
It's great to see a manufacturer take responsibility for a problem and agree to rectify the problem without a fuss. 25.
Yep - shame about the peeling tolex!!!
The peeling tolex is just bad design. There's basically a rectangle of tolex glued to the back of the cabinet. The edges lift as the tolex will react to the atmosphere in a different manner to the wood it is stuck to. I've taken mine back to the workshop for resticking. They claimed they were using better glue - but the resticking only lasted a couple of weeks. Then there was a letter that went out to all owners offering a kit to fix the issue. Basically, a pot of glue with a plastic spreader tool. I followed the instructions to the letter. It only lasted a couple of weeks - then the tolex started peeling again. It's just lack of thought in the design. Most other manufacturers with a bit of experience wrap it 'round corners and staple it. Glueing a big rectangular piece of tolex on a piece of wood is never going to work. Good sounding cab, looks pretty, tolex peels off. Live with it.
