1. I've just bought an Ashdown DH30 flip top thingy from Rabbie. The exposed valve one. I like it. It sounds great and looks cool. Exactly what I need for in the house. I like the red speaker cloth thing. I guess, if I add another 8 Ohm cab to it, then I'll get a bit more spread and a bit more oomph with the resultant 4 Ohms going on. So ..... is there a cab which matches the dimensions of the DH30 cab - particularly the width. With red cloth?
 2. Roland KCW1 sub woofer for sale. In great condition. I've had this for a couple of years and have used it to give extra feel to my AER Amp One amp and have also used it as an addition to my small PA - where the keys go through the desk but need some extra lows. I need the space as I'm mainly playing 6-string guitar nowadays and have filled my allotted space up with such gear. If you're interested in one of these, you'll know the score. Very good cosmetically. Hit me up. £175 - I can deliver sort of along the South Coast - Worthing to Bournemouth. Talk to me if you need a courier as it is a bit heavy.
 3. Working ornaments Lozz. I wanna play music anywhere in the house without getting gear out and making a mess. The Gibson amp is a total marvel. It's 30 watts class A all valve with stereo reverb. THE best clean sound out there IMO. When you have the stereo reverb on, and with the hard oak flooring, the sound fills the room in a way that you can't easily tell which direction the sound is coming from..
 4. I should clarify. I have lots of gear to gig with including a few Barefaced cabs. This Ampeg one would be for "indoors". I bought myself a house and I'm having it decorated right now. I'm placing musical things around the place in a way that they blend in with the room decor. I'm looking for pieces that are sort of works of art but they've got to be "best of breed". That way they're also talking points. I have a Martin acoustic, a 60s AC30, a Hammond and Leslie etc. I think the Ampeg might fit the bill quite nicely but I'd like to get my hands on one as I'm aware it's gonna be pricey. Here's my old Gibson amp already in the library to show you what I mean.
 5. Anyone recommend these? Does anyone stock them so that I could try one? An old one could be cool but also maybe one of the news ones?
 6.
Lets not forget the OP's famous Kanye West thread. Haters gonna hate!
There has been some interesting discussion on here - but there is some thing that I have noticed on here. You get a lot of hostility for holding an opinion. Take this comment here. That's just downright nasty. Deliberately trying to be confrontational. And that guy called Dad3353 up the page a bit. I've already blocked him for being downright rude in a previous post. This is a great forum, but there is a lot of rudeness going on for no particular reason. I first noticed it when I had some Barefaced gear. I'm happy for people to have opinions, but why be rude? is there something wrong with your own life where you need to project negativity. It's something that constantly crops up, in my opinion, ruining this forum.
 7.
So Carole Kaye starting out on guitar & moving to bass is OK but Sting doing the same thing isn't?
I thought sting started out as a young jazz double bassist, didn't he?
 8.
Carole Kaye was teaching guitar at 14 and played guitar on 'La Bamba' before turning to bass,Played both on a lot of sessions. Remarkable musician IMO.
Good. And girl power. What's not to like.
 9.
Wouldn't risk it mate, he might not be convincing enough.
I'm unconvinced.
 10.
I'm not convinced by any of the comments so far. Maybe Paul McCartney. Otherwise ...... pfffft!
11.
You could ask the same question of Bass Players on Guitar! John Deacon for example was a bit handy on the Guitar though you'd never have known on the face of it.
But I'm not asking that question.
 12.
Sting. Very good at both.
That's the other way 'round though!
 13. Can you think of any famous guitar players who are good bass players? I can't think of any. I mean really play and understand the instrument. Not just put their fingers in the right places and do all kind of widdly things like they are still playing guitar.
 14. Musicians performing live on TV is good.
 15.
Might want to put Jazz in the title, so people know it's not a Precision guard. GLWTS!
Done. Thank you.
 16.
^^ What he said! Why did you remove it btw?
I put a b/w/b one on.
 17. This is one that I took straight off my American Jazz when I bought it. Obviously in perfect, unused condition. Still got the cellophane and the MIA sticker on it. £15.00 including postage
 18.
Won't they order the colour that you want in their next consignment ?
I think this is a good option.
 19. I'm after a specific guitar that doesn't seem to be available in the UK. It comes in two colours. The UK distributor only does the colour I don't want. Does anyone have experience of importing from the US? I sort of have. I bought an item from ebay once - a new guitar not available here - and it worked out fine. But I'm talking new item from a US guitar store. Lot's of them won't ship to the UK. Any ideas, any experience?
 20.
That Gibson looks phenomenal. The guitarist in my blues band owns a 112 Gibson amp from the early '60s (maybe even earlier), which weighs as much as it sounds good, for needing an outboard transformer. After years of mucking about with vintage trouble makers - most notably a '77 Marshall JMP and a '78 Silverface Fender Pro Reverb - I'm now using a reissue Deluxe Reverb. It's the best I've ever sounded. Oh, I almost forgot! I played a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe from the mid '90s on indefinite loan for a couple of years. Rattling tubes were a bit of an issue in the studio, but other than that it was a great working horse of an amp.
Yep. I have a Hot Rod Deluxe as my main pub gigging amp. Mega loud so plently of volume. Set clean, it's great. Not so impressed by the breakup tones - but I use all kinds of pedals for that. It's a great workhorse. Not too heavy for little me either.
 21. I have different rigs for different situations. Here's one of my fave ones though. This is the amp I have in my new house - chosen especially as it fits in with the decor and doesn't scream "GUITAR AMPLIFIER". Someone thought it was an old radio the other day. It's actually a Gibson GA30RVS all tube, class A 30 watt 2x12. It is just the best, warm clean thing that you ever did hear. Louder than my '69 Vox AC30 (and that is house demolishingly loud). It has the most wonderful stereo reverb. They're getting a bit rare now. I love it to bits.
 22. And SOLD !!!! - Glad this is going to a good home. A great little recording device with built in effects and built in drum machine. I used this for all of my demos since forever - but I'm a committed Logic Pro X girl nowadays. Fully working and in clean clean condition. Really easy to use as well. There is one minor issue with it (which doesn't affect the operation). It has one of the knobs missing. You can still easily turn the thing and you could probably just put another knob on! You record onto SD cards with it. I'll include one with the sale. I've got the original box and the manual which you can have. I'd rather you collected - or that I deliver to you somewhere between Worthing and Bournemouth - but if you did want it posting, it would be approximately £5 via Interparcel.
