    Come on guys, it was made by a 'wood instrument maker' after all, not a plastic or glass or paper instrument maker............!!!! It must be good then...

    I have found a gentle rub with fine wire wool (go with the grain) works well and will brighten the frets too. Followed by some Lemon Oil.
