  1. Hi All, any tips please on how to do the above. I have separate audio files on my iPhone which I want to put into 1 playlist to play automatically one after another like a cd . Cheers
  2. Many thanks - that is very helpful and I really appreciate your advice and time. I’ve bought a Keeley compressor so like you say I’ll see how I get on it as an introduction. Cheers
  3. Thanks, I’m not sure how to dm you, lol, so just the usual stuff, eg did you buy it new, how old, how much use etc etc, cheers
  4. Many thanks everyone- very helpful.
  5. Looking for advice please. I’ve never been tech savvy and only previously used a bass effects module in a very limited way when live. Currently playing in a jazz and jazz fusion set up using an AER combo. What do I need when switching from finger play to slap ? Just a good compressor pedal? Happy to pay up to mid price range, but not sure I need top end. Thanks

    AER amp one

Hello everyone, hope you’re all healthy . A few months and a few small gigs on from my post, and loving the amp, as are the other musicians! However, I still miss a bit of zing, so any recommendations please on adding an extension tweeter ?

    Jazz bass parts

Hi, thanks for replying. Yes, the band use chord charts. I can walk to a good standard off the charts, but I’ve always been a stronger reader and a weak busker and I’m getting bored with my lines! I’ve found the Ed Friedland walking books helpful , as well as the talking bass YouTube stuff. I’ve just bought the Paul Chambers walking in the footsteps of sample transcriptions. I’ m being a bit lazy as I don’t have the time to spend many hours listening and absorbing the styles of the greats, and some transcriptions of at least some of the standards would be great. Cheers

    AER amp one

Hi , thank you. Yes, on the floor , and good point about tilting, I’ll definitely do that ( just not tried that yet as it’s heavy for its size of course and it’s feels a bit silly sticking a bit of crappy wood under to tilt - it looks lovely without ! ) I previously had a Hartke wedge and before that a Mark wedge, so your tip will be a good help. Cheers!

    AER amp one

Thanks to everyone who replied re my post on which combo to buy . I went for the AER in the end. I realise I need to experiment until I find the right sound for me , but any quick tips please to shorten the wait! I’ve used it for a couple of rehearsals (trio) and one gig ( 4 piece) - both no drummer and jazz standards. Whilst the guitarist says it sounds great, I’m only hearing lovely deep bass but no zing on g and d strings above 5th fret. Of course, I’m only a couple of feet away from it , so the old chestnut of what you hear doesn’t mean the audience hears the same. I’m using a Sire 4 string. Cheers!

    Jazz bass parts

Hi, the transcriptions to study the authentic feel of the original versions ( or a tasteful cover version).

    Jazz bass parts

Hi everyone- I’m looking for parts for the old standards- the usual sets played by small bands in pubs. Has anyone got a library /pad they could copy/ send me for educational purposes please ( happy to pay a reasonable fee). Or recommendations for a good fake book with accurate / interesting lines. Cheers
  12. Hi, any recommendations please for an app that will store parts for use in set lists for gigs? Thanks
  13. Hope you’re all healthy and happy. I’m just after views please on best combo for jazz, with versatility for function work as well. Nothing too big, or heavy in weight, or with massive power - sufficient for small venues. I don’t mind top end prices, equally happy with low price if known to be suitable. Cheers!
  14. Thanks for the message. By coincidence, I googled them a few days ago, and I couldn’t see any new posts re bass since 2018. I was originally interested as I was searching for bass notation, and they came up and the search. The demo lesson of the track I wanted was impressive, and I would have been interested if they were building a bigger library. I think I emailed them at the time, but no reply. Yes, you’re right; best avoided. Shame, as the bit I watched was very good. Cheers!
  15. True, and thanks! Suppose I’m more interested in how they play, people’s opinions .
  16. Just looking for views and price valuation please. I’m looking to buy a 4 string for home use and considering different makes. Obviously want a bargain ( don’t we all)- something active, easy on the fingers, perhaps thinner neck than normal with modern sound. I’ve just seen a Peavey Millennium ac pbx locally on FB. Looks in g c from pics. What are they like and what is a reasonable price in current times? Thanks!
  17. Anyone subscribe to Muzento? Is it any good? Cheers
  18. Well folks, I bought one, and ......I love it. Brilliant for the price ! Great for slap. A little bit ratterly but I did ask the shop to set action low as possible so can live with that. Very light - won’t be to everyone’s preference. No shoulder ache, or finger problems. Bought the retro cream, nice finish. Some critics might say it looks / feels like a toy but who cares. Id be interested to hear from any Ibanez lovers who can recommend the next step up model 4 string- loving the medium scale and neck compared to my very heavy 5 !
  19. Did you get one in the end ? I’m thinking of getting one too.
