I really love your band setup - sounds sensational. The way you play bass like that and sing at the same time is seriously impressive. If you played a bit futher south I'd love to come to one of your gigs. £15 is good value I think.
Thanks! I'm trying to organise gigs down south. so you never know

is that recorded live? )Sounds great btw).
I see the studio booth shots. Are the band miming back to a previously recorded take?
Top playing
Thanks man
No miming! It's a live multitrack recording mixed down later. It was recorded at Seagate studio and engineered mixed by Graeme Watt. He is a master engineer. He took a few shots through from the console room whilst we were recording. If we'd pre-recorded I would have got Simon to do his solo again (Not that it's bad, far from it).
I spent my teenager years playing hours and hours of maiden on the bass. I've played with Scott the drummer since I was 11 years old (I'm now 44) so we're pretty tight together.

I've booked out the Speakeasy bar in The Voodoo Rooms for our first Edinburgh gig.
This show has been a labour of love and I'm lucky to work with such skilled musicians. Tickets available via the link below. 15 quid + booking fee. It might seem expensive, but this has been a very costly project to get up and running!

I've put together The Boyz and Scream for Me as Lizzy and Maiden tribute bands. I've booked out Church Dundee for a double bill gig. 10.00 + booking fee if bought online via skiddle. 13.00 on the door (cash).
Tickets available via skiddle:

Sounds great.
I've just joined a rock band and we play a few Lizzy tunes. It's good to be able to play with pick. The last time I played with a pick I was 18 years old and was playing Queen songs in my school band.
For real! I never usually play with a pick or get to play my trusty old precision as I need a five string for my function band. Playing these tunes with a pick and a very mid-heavy tone is great fun. I would never normally use the tone I've got for the Lizzy band but it just works in context. A precision, rotosound flatwounds and a pick = 70s bass sound!

Multitracked and quickly mixed from our rehearsal a few weeks ago in preparation for our debut gig.

I was very surprised at how well our first gig went down in Dundee, so I've book out the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh. It's only a small room, 80 standing. Hopefully see some of you there? I'm always up for a chat about bass related things and we're a friendly bunch over all.

For anyone who didn't get, you missed out as this was a great gig. The whole band were tight, sounded and played really well. It was obvious that each member had put a lot of work into learning their parts, getting the sounds accurate for each track and pulling it together as a band. Chris (@doc40hz) had a brace of very nice JD's and Trace Elliot amp to play with 🙂 Well worth seeing them if you have the chance.
The only negative for me was that the cost of parking was more than the ticket for the show! That can't be right! Anyway here's some videos that my mate took.
Thanks very much! And thanks for coming along : ) I enjoyed our wee chat.
Can't see those videos, I think due to FB settings. Would be nice to hear how it sounded out front!
