Erno Zwaan (who makes them) has informed me that he is now using black coil wire as well as the red. What I do find strange looking at the website for the bass you bought is the list prices compared to the prices they are going for on ebay !!! You have certainly got a bargain, if its as good as it looks. It does appear that another maker has come on the scene at just the wrong time and I know all about that... Let us all know how you get on with it....

Looks like a bargain considering the list is £1800......

I've heard sound clips of £1000 basses sounding like a Jedson from the 70's , or maybe it did.....?

£2900 , what credit crunch.... Private listing of bidders is always dodgy to me. Plus all the bids look a little too much in a progression !!! If you look at bids on other high value basses earlier bids beat later bids and the dates are pretty mixed up. Not that I am insinuating anything is out of the ordinary its just I think private auctions are dodgy full stop. Unless its porn movies or marital aids......then they have a place, oh er mrs.....

There are so many genres when talking about bass it is difficult to cross compare ability, its a bit like saying Stevie Wonder is better at the piano than Evgeny Kissin, it makes no sense to compare the two. I could never see Jaco holding down a rock 4/4 in the same sense that Cliff Burton may get a little lost trying to play Havona.
