D’Addario Chromes flat wound 4 string set: 45, 65, 80, 100 I fancied a change from my usual flats so tried these, I put the G string on, tuned up and then decided to stick with my old flats (2 years on and improving with age!). So the G string has been used for about 5 seconds, the D, A, and E have never been strung up. They retails for around £32 - 36 Yours for £15 including P&P (mainland UK only, other countries please contact for a postage price) Thanks for looking, any questions please ask.

Up for sale is my NS NXT 4 string Amber bust EUB (sorry no trades). I got this bass from Bass Direct for a performance project that didn’t materialize and have only used it once! So it’s pretty much brand new. Photos: (wish I could take better photos to do the bass justice!) Here’s a link to the NS and Bass Direct websites with all the technical details on.... http://thinkns.com/i...ts/nxt_bass.php http://www.bassdirec...Design_WAV.html Here’s a recording I did with the bass (the one time I used it!).... http://www.ianbass.c...n_Bass/EUB.html In the recording I emphasised the more electric qualities of the bass but you can get a more double bass sound with appropriate EQ and strings (the strings on the bass are stock). Here’s a link to the Talk Bass website thread on the NXT, to hear what people are saying about the bass.... http://www.talkbass....athread-584000/ The bass is in perfect ‘as new’ condition and includes the stand and case. Any questions please ask and you’ve very welcome to come over to check the bass out. The cost of the bass new is: £849 Price for this bass (used only once!): £700 (sorry no trades) £20 p&p UK or collect in person (Surrey/South East London area). Thank for looking
OK, I've still not had time during daylight to take some proper pics of this, lots going on at the moment, but here's some badly lit, badly taken photos to start... This bass is amazing! Eude
Congratulations on a truly inspiring bass, it looks magnificent!

I sold Roger my 5 string Sadowsky Metro bass, it was a pleasure to do business with him, great communication and smooth transaction. Definitely recommended. Thanks! Ian
I'd be interested in the cab if you'd consider splitting them. I've already got the Shuttle 3 8T so I don't need the head. Unless you fancy a Markbass LMK?
Thanks for the message and offer Mr. Bassman. For the time being I’ll rather keep the combo intact but if I get interest in just the head then I’ll definitely split and I’ll let you know. Cheers. Ian

Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0 10T combo Including an Arriba soft case. I got this from a fellow Basschatter only a few weeks ago and it’s a fantastic combo with plenty of oomph and can really handle a low B, here’s the link to the original thread with more pictures... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=138944 It currently has some new control knobs on it, the originals are included as well. I’m asking for a fixed price of £500 (inclusive of postage within the UK), which is what I paid for it only a few weeks ago. I’ve not gigged it and it’s just sat at home as I have decided to stick with my Mark Bass for the time being. Thanks for looking, any question please ask and you’re most welcome to come over and check it out. Cheers. Ian

Final Reduction, Now Only £1275 This is really is the absolute lowest I could go on the bass, I’m sure most would agree that it's great value for a Sadowsky Metro 5 string. Please don’t be put off by the couple of ‘very minor light superficial surface scratches on the body’ stated in the OP. I’m sure most people would still class the bass ‘as new’ but I do like to be totally honest and open (maybe to my detriment!). Thanks very much for looking.
No bother at all mate, happy to help I too am fairly certain the wood makes a difference, but I've seen so many threads being derailed with people putting their 2p in that I thought it'd be best to put in a caveat... Cheers, Eude
Wise words, hope your thread stays on track.

Thanks for the very comprehensive reply! Really interesting to hear your criteria for the bass - ‘very compact, easy playing, 33” scale’, sounds similar to what I look for in a bass because I’m not the biggest guy out there (read short!) and for me perfect balance and light weight are also very important. I know that there are lots of variants that effect the tone of a bass; pick ups, electronics, construction method etc, and of course the person playing it. That said, I’m personally a great believer in the general tonal characteristics of wood, accepting that each bit of wood is going to be slightly different. Looking forward to seeing the finished bass! Good luck with it all. Cheers Ian
