  1. Also listed on Feebay and Bumflea (aka. eBay and Gumtree) in case any wonders if there's some dodgy cloning scammer going around those sites; it's not - it's me!
  2. Offers welcome. I am down London way on April 23rd if you are down south - I can meet up somewhere close to a motorway.
  3. I am selling my medium pleasureboard as I have a small house and it's taking up too much space in one room. Shortly after buying it my band split up so I was playing/practicing far less. I only used it at home and it's never left the house. It is a joy to use, and with it I really noticed how sloppy my playing was, eg. thumping the strings to rest my hand. There really is nothing like it, and I will be sad to sell it but I need the space. It is 600W 8ohms but I found you didn't need to drive it hard to get motion from it. I used a TC RH750 to drive it very gently. It is like new other than the Tecamp logo that fell off if you even looked at it; it was attached to the side (I presume with Pritt Stick or UHU) and therefore in a position to be kicked off. I've photographed the hole that the logo fitted into. You won't miss the logo on the side but I do still have it in case you want to fit it only to kick it off again... There are no marks on this at all as I put a rug on top of it to keep it looking new (perfect sized grey rug from IKEA included). Edging aluminium is like new. Underneath is spotless - see the pictures. It really is unused! I've priced it far less than an Eich medium board (£510 from the UK distributors) so get a medium one for less than the price of a small! Collection from Droitwich, Worcestershire please. I can drive a bit up/down the M5 if that's any help - my car needs a run anyway. Payment by bank transfer or cash - ideally bank transfer so we don't contaminate and I don't have to wander down to the bank (they seem to be closing all of the bank branches in this town).
  4. I am withdrawing this from sale for the moment due to lack of interest in the UK, and prohibitive costs of shipping to the EU. Thank you all for your interest.
  5. Thank you for the information and tips. I have found it to be very expensive too so probably won't be shipping it abroad.
  6. Thanks for the info, very helpful. I should probably have read more about them.
  7. Hello I am just asking to see if anyone has any suggestions for European shipping. I have interest on a bass I am selling from various places (Norway, Croatia etc.) so trying to get prices. Since the case is massive and wide, it seems astronomically expensive for shipping so I am not sure if I am looking in the wrong places? I can see Eurosender is offered a discount for basschat; I've also looked at transglobalexpress.co.uk, Parcel Force, parcelmonkey etc. but wondering if anyone else had suggestions? Thanks, Rich
  8. I should mention that the case included with this is the standard rockbase case which is €300+ shipping. https://shop.warwick.de/en/cases-bags/bass-cases/electric-bass-cases/15755/warwick-standard-line-star-bass-flight-case?c=3061
  9. Hello everyone I can now ship this within the UK. I went to Halfords and got some giant boxes from bike shipments and so can wrap the case in cardboard. I also have a giant "loo-roll" of bubble wrap so the bass and case can be wrapped up and secured, and then cardboard placed around the outside. I am not certain the cost of shipping but will find out if anyone is interested. Thanks! Hope everyone is ok!
  10. I've done a short demo video with my phone. Please excuse the poor playing. I am not driving the amp hard at all (it's on very very quiet) so you'll probably be playing far louder but hopefully it should give you some idea what this is like. The cab is a Bergantino HD210 so not neodymium magnets in the speakers. https://youtu.be/gh3AwpHkDy0
  11. Thanks for the well-wishes. It's a lovely bass and when I look at it I wonder if I am making the right decision... Anyway I weighed it as best I could on the scales and it was 4.3kg. The case itself is something else! I have had German Warwicks (albeit solid bodies) before and I can't really tell the difference with the build quality on this at all. I have tried Rockbasses before and they felt quite horrible, but this feels fine.
  12. Not sure on the weight, I will weigh it on my bathroom scales and post details. I never found it to be heavy particularly compared to solid bodies. I know the case is like a coffin and is rather heavy.
  13. I should mention that although I do not have a box etc to ship it, I will happily pack it and send it if you want to arrange sending me a giant box / courier etc. Also, if you feel the price is too high let me know and send me an offer! Offers really are welcome.
  14. WITHDRAWN I am selling my Korean "ProSeries StarBass 5 Gold Metallic CHR passive/passive MAP fretted" (that's Warwick's description). I am trying to play fretless more these days and this is just not getting played enough. This is a passive instrument (no 9V batteries hurray) and is capable of "vintage" tones so it doesn't sound like a midrange-heavy solid-body Warwick. Serial number WPS B-000087-11 (2011 I think??). Construction wise, it has a solid maple block down the centre and hollow wings. The neck is maple (but painted in luxurious gold) and the fretboard wenge. This has Just-A-Nut III on it so is adjustable at the nut. (Just-A-Nut II was prone to breaking so the III is better). It has volume and tone for each pickup, and a selector switch in the style of a Les Paul (neck, both, bridge). I played this on 2 gigs but then the band disbanded and it's been safely at home for many years. As you can see, it is in tip-top/excellent condition, with the only minor issues being pictured: a. slight decoloration of the tuning pegs (someone must have had sweaty hands before I bought it) b. There is also a blemish on the neck paintwork but that's under the lacquer c. There is a tiny slight mark above the neck pickup d. There is a mark near the fifth fret that looks like a construction issue that was filled in. e. Some slight marking on the pickup covers where enthusiastic playing has likely bashed a string onto the pickup cover (but it's under the string and I think you’ll struggle to see it) All of these were like this when I bought it. All of these are pictured and I think you'll struggle to notice these. This comes with a colossal excellent Warwick hardcase to keep this safe. This isn't pictured but is included. It’s a very good case! I have priced this appropriately I think, given that it's a Korean Pro Series and NOT the Chinese RockBass series which seem to have increased in price somewhat (hasn't everything?), but sensible offers are welcome! I enjoyed playing this bass a lot and will miss it but I need to be realistic. I would provide sound clips but there's plenty of demos by Andy Irvine back when he was working with Warwick on YouTube, if not somewhat slap-happy. I am in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire and would prefer not to ship this as it's massive and I have no cardboard to package it. I am happy to drive up/down the M5 a bit if this helps you for travel purposes. Worcestershire is in Tier 2 at the moment so I cannot travel to other locations. Cash or Bank Transfer please. If you want to put it on a credit card and pay via PayPal you can but I shouldn't get any fees so you'll have to send it as a "gift" to friends/family. Thanks. 15. Sold subject to collection / payment. Thanks everyone for your informative input and interest in it, much appreciated.
  16. Hello everyone, I just wanted to mention that offers are very much welcomed and I emphasise that I am very happy to travel a bit to reduce any travel time you have. Thanks.
  17. I think this is a German one as it has the SN on the headstock and is solid, but I’m not sure if the colour has just faded as you can see the subtle grain of the body through the paintwork. Not sure if that helps anyone but my thoughts anyway. As others have said, the neck on this is very narrow (and subsequently “fast”) particularly compared to later post-2000 Warwicks with their baseball bat necks (which I also like). Thanks.
  18. @warwickhunt thanks for the info @karlfer might have been Bumflea!
  19. @karlfer I have never listed this on Facebook so not sure which one that was? @vmaxblues I had difficulty pricing it because I see 2 others for sale "on the Internet" abroad and they are very highly priced. I like the bass and the very burpy sound you can get out of it, just needs must unfortunately. As I said, offers welcome!
  20. PRICE DROP: £550 £475. I have dropped the price to meet demand! I am selling my Warwick Dolpin Pro II as I am just not using this, plus my wife has been made redundant. This historic bass deserves someone else to play it as it's great! There's very few of these around, from what I can tell. Very few in the UK anyway. The story behind these basses is that they were made by Warwick in Germany when Warwick was still small (before 2000). Warwick was too small to make them in great quantities so subcontracted to another company, which made items with bad necks and was selling these "out the back door" and thereby giving Warwick a bad name. So they eventually shut them down and moved production to Japan. This is one of the few that actually came from Germany, from what I can tell - 300 originally made I think? Unlike post-2000 Warwicks, this has a fairly thin neck. It has Just-A-Nut I on it (brass) where each string has an adjustable saddle to sit in on the nut. This is from 1990 so a super early one. Someone has done a bit of mix-and-match with the colour of the knobs (gold/black), tuners and bridge but I think it looks alright. Although the labelling has worn off the pickups, this has MEC pickups in it and a two-band EQ. Unlike some others, this DOES NOT have a passive toggle on the volume control so is active only all the time (9v battery at the back). This looks to have been bashed around before I owned it (perhaps it fell off a stand due to its awkward shape) so has spots of damage on the edge and a ding on the body that someone has filled. I've tried to photograph these as best I can, but it is nearly 30 years old, remember. Pictures and a demo video are available here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BNQtEDbgzp42jifoiISAjXjr3M3pUwrp Any questions please ask. I am just outside Worcester, Worcestershire and would prefer not to ship this as I have no case for it (didn't go outside the house) and I have no cardboard to package it. I am happy to drive up/down the M5 a bit if this helps you for travel purposes. If you feel this is priced too high, please make an offer. Cash or Bank Transfer please, ideally bank transfer when we meet. POLITE NOTICE: I've had timewasters on other sites like Gumtree and those that think this bass should be 20p or free due to it not being a Streamer / Fodera / a thru-neck / not made of titanium / more than they want to pay. I've had quite a few daft requests and people believing I should be giving this away because it doesn't quite fit with their hazy dream of an ideal bass, eg. it's not a thru-neck... I've had people not show up when they said they'd buy it and all sorts of clowns and jokers. Let's leave them at the circus!
  21. Very, very good. And great that you're doing it all yourself. I recently read Yngwie Malmsteen's autobiography, and he was stating how marvellous it was to be able to go and capture ideas and be in total control of the ideas he was producing thanks to the wonders of modern digital recording instead of having to explain the sound "in your head" to a drummer or keyboard player. It certainly seems like you have a fantastic set up - will look your album up!
  22. I cannot believe this hasn't sold. It's in the best colour - blue.
