  1. There's a sunburst one on Ebay with no bag for £1200! Shows how cheap i am.
  2. Hi chaps. Up for sale today is this unbelievably good D roc. I purchased this recently from basschat, I wanted to try out fanned fret. I have to say this thing is frikkin unbelievable! I gave it a full set up and cannot get over how stable it is, the action is so low, and i still think it could go a tiny bit more. It is so easy to play with these banjo frets. The multiscale is also amazing and I adjusted to it instantly. The tone is gorgeous. I can see why the dingwalls are so popular, they have created the easiest playing basses ever made. Previous owner resprayed it in a 3k white. Its not perfect very close up with a few bits of dist in it, but genrally he has done a great job andfrom a foot away it looks fantastic, and way better without the weird scratchplate sticker. Underneath is a tobacco burst, so the option is there to strip it, or relic it. But it looks so good as it is id keep it. I really don't want to part with it, but my quest for an old p bass has got the better of me and just have to get one. Pics are from previous owner with his permission. It comes with the epic dingwall gigbag, but if that's not of interest id do a deal where I keep it and knock some off the bill. Can post for £20.
  3. It's superhighway i think less than 4 kilos, and yes active/passive john east
  4. The wife!! Actually a bit unfair on her, she doesnt mind me buying anything as long as its using basses to buy basses. What she doesnt know wont hurt her right!!
  5. I never actually tallied up the costs, as im too scared to know! But as with all customs, you start off with a budget and before you know it you've spec'd it way beyond where you started!! but it was worth while and created a cracker of a bass. Seafoam over sunburst is just so striking.
  6. Its so cool and looks unbelievable, it seems such a shame to keep it as an ornament, deserves to be played.
  7. Up for sale today is my jazz bass, built by dan of dg relics. The bass was built to my spec, with allparts body and neck, sprayed sunburst and then seafoam over the top and then relic'd to look like a bass i saw online. Headstock in matching seafoam, with fender jazz decals that were a custom print job in all gold. Fretboard is ebony to get that old worn look and looks great. It has hipshot ultralite tuners that are aged, aguilar 70s pickups, and a john east preamp. The neck is jazz nut with a fairly thick neck profile, slightly thicker than my 74 jazz. Strung with ti flats by ernie ball. Wilkinson bridge under the cover. It plays well, but could do with a setup, it cost around £1200 to build. Its such a cool bas and barely touched since built, it just doesn't get played now i have my 74 jazz. I really want an old p bass so I would trade for one. Up or down. Photos are from dan himself and shows the build in all its glory.
  8. Thanks @bigthumb, it really is a beauty and a proper professional finish, and now playing much better. If you don't mind a higher action than 2.5-3mm I really don't think you would need to do anything to it. But it deserves the love of someone. I put 3 years into this bass project and would love to see it played by a new owner.
  9. Will let this go for £800 for the next couple of days, as i have something incoming. If not sold by then I'll keep it.
  10. We are all here together to enjoy these beautiful instruments. Would never want to be dishonest about a bass. I do think the neck is fixable, and as it sits now the action could go a bit higher which might sort it out. If I had the time I'd get it looked at, but 2 year old twins and hobbies don't mix.
  11. Just looking again there is definitely a curve in the neck. Maybe just clamped for a while would straighten it up
  12. The truss rod works fine, and at the moment is backed right off, maybe half turn on. I have adjusted the action to about 2.5mm and its playing well with just a hint of buzz but that's the sound you want from a stingray, nice and raspy. There does look to be about .5mm of belly in the neck when I put a straight edge on it. Maybe a fret levelling would be enough.
  13. Originally sold to @bigthumb but it was returned due to a neck issue. The neck was left off the bass for 3 years, and now seems there is a slight bow in it. The action is set very low, and if adjusted it may improve, but currently the strings buzz on frets 8-11. i just dont have time to get it sorted. So taken £200 off the price for someone to get a good deal. @bigthumb will be able to tell you the quality of the refinished and fret work.its really excellent. Originally a burgundy colour that was then sprayed orange, so i had the bass professionally stripped and refinished in clear satin. beautiful ash body. The original neck has been completely refinished, fret board cleaned and refretted, the headstock has a new coat of clear coat. The rear of the neck has been left as natural wood as i don't like sticky necks, the neck is now unbelievably fast playing. 2 scratchplates are included but no screws. Electronics were tested and cleaned. All original hardware. I have a gig bag and cardboard box, so it can be posted, I think fully insured would be about £30.
  14. Im also up for trades with this one. Value up or down.
  15. It's a lovely looking bass with a lovely neck profile. And I've saved the UK betherine from the trouble of the importing it from Italy.
  16. This one is a rare little bird. It was built by an Italian luthier, the company was called Massbass. Can't find out much about him other than he seemed to be a well respected luthier that worked with warwick and other big brands before going out on his own. 34 inch scale unlined fretless. Bubinga top Maple core European walnut rear Maple neck and fretboard Massbass custom pickups Massbass 3 band preamp Volume/blend/treble/mid/bass Warwick adjustable nut You can see the guy had skills and there are alot of warwick type details. Very well made. The bridge looks very slightly offline as the g string sits close to the edge of the fretboard compared to the b. But it never bothered me. It plays very well and is the fastest fretless I've played. Strung with flats. I keep doing it to myself, where I'm convinced that this time I'll be able to play unlined, then quickly realise I'm still crap. I can ship the bass. Insured for £25.
  17. Hi all. Im putting up for sale my Warwick streamer stage 1, its the 5 string broadneck. Im sure if you are looking at this you know what these are about. Absolute beast of a bass. With that beautiful woody tone that Warwick own. This was originally in a blue finish and has been refinished in a tobacco finish. The flamed maple neck and body shines through. It does have some surface marks but nothing deep. I would love to keep this but 5 string while fun is not natural for me, and rarely play anything that requires a B. I have a box and gig bag that it can be sent in. And shipping is £30.
