1.
Just looked at the stock socket and i cant work out how to get it out?
The jack socket is threaded - the nut is inside the control cavity holding it in place. Once the connections are cut you should just be able to push it out from the control cavity side. I too have had a few Warwicks with this problem, never had it with any other brand. Odd as the rest of the hardware is pretty solid and reliable.
2. There's nothing like a Streamer Stage 1 5- or 6-string. Absolutely massive sound and a phenomenal tone from bottom to top. Problem is they're close to £3500 new now, about a grand more than a couple of years ago. For that money you can take your pick of NYC Sadowsky, Modulus, Dingwall, Roscoe, MTD, all of whom appear to be far more highly-regarded in the high-end custom market. Based on what's been said about stock policy, I can't believe Warwick's German operation will survive in its current form. How many Thumb Singlecuts do you think they've sold starting at nearly four grand?
3.
I own nothing but squiers and fenders, what can I say they are just safe for me. I wish fender would give you a choice of neck profile though.
They do - Precision or Jazz!
4. I used to have a BSR6 and asked for some Smith strings and polishing fluid. He replied a few days later with "We don't ship small orders internationally". I sold the bass not long after. I imagine Smith can't be bothered with their non-US customers as they do enough business inside the states. Guess which brand I will not be buying in the future?
5. Two interesting interpretations. Personally I'd write it with sixteenths and ties (beginning in 6/4) as there is so much backbeat throughout the track. Good luck doing some of those jumps to runs on a 5. There is a good version of this with the Camilo New York band on YouTube (complete with a minor mess-up!) - Anhony looks like he's reading it but plays most of the runs lower down on the top C string. Having also transcribed his parts on the rest of the album, there is some fabulous playing all round. I think the highlight for me is Caribe as it's just nuts!
6. Can't beat a Warwick with a wenge neck for growl and punch. That's a bubinga body though unless I'm much mistaken - and a nicely figured grain it has too.
7. What I want to know is why there are so many basses for sale in the For Sale section.

14. SOLD I bought this from Silverfoxnik about a year or so ago for teaching. I don't teach anymore so I'm moving it on. Full specs are here: http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=150 It basically allows for some flexible routing of one or more instruments to either one or both of the outputs, with 2 channels with independent volume controls. Still has box and manual, same condition as purchased so I'd like £45 for it. Collection from New Malden or posted at cost. Cheers Mat
