The ever growing list of P's coming to the Herts Bass Bash would suggest it's happening there!

It's still on eBay listed as a Fender 60th Anniversary USA Precision.
Zero bids though so perhaps everyone is in the know.

At best it sounds like a 2011 MIM bass with the anniversary neck plate -

Indonesia instead of China. But in all honesty it makes zero difference.
I had a great example of an Indonesian Squier recently and I completely agree. It's interesting that they effectively value the Chinese labour at £100+ more than the Indonesian. Given the components are all identical and the QC is there or thereabouts! -
Where is this one made out of interest? It's got all the hallmarks of a Classic Vibe (high mass bridge, basswood body, gloss neck) but it's the best part of £100 cheaper than the CV or the Matt Freeman!
-
I've taken to almost exclusively buying from Wunjo because the guys there are so helpful. Some of the prices are a little bit more expensive (strings and accessories) but that is more than compensated for by the fact they match the big retailers on basses and amps.

Shame you missed out on this one!
You never know, you could always PM to find who bought it and make them an offer!

that is disappointing -
http://www.basscentre.com/bass-collection-power-bass/bass-collection-power-bass-wimbledon-green.html
On the surface, it looks like the bass of my dreams - a passive Surf Green P-clone for less than £500. Made by Bass Collection offered via The Bass Centre.
I've heard of the brand and the shop but that's as far as my experience goes.
Does anyone have any experience with the Bass Collection 'Power Bass' that may convince me to get my card out/put it away?
Should I just spend the extra £x00 smacks on the only Surf Green P Fender offer at the moment?
First hand experience would be hugely appreciated. -

Sold. Thanks folks.

Wow that's interesting to hear, I wouldn't have expected those kind of issues on such an 'expensive' (granted, RRP) bass!

I've been there. I used a Hartke Bass Attack for a while. It's probably my favourite stand alone pedal and helped but isn't a substitute in my humble opinion

Fair play. Get down to your local shop and start trying Stingrays then -
Bumpatron.
Seeing as you're all so nice I'll let you have it for £90 collected or £105 shipped for this weekend only! -

That's not going to help you sound Stingray-ish. Personally I Love the Ray, hate the ampeggy scoop and it's derivatives.
Sansamp might have been a bad example, but I can quite easily tweak my Precision to sound close to a Ray by using my BDI21. Just a thought. -

Yeah the vid to Basket Case has him with a Gibbo which looks like one of these in.Of course vids don`t necessarily mean the instrument was used in the recordings but I always though that the tones on Dookie were very un-Fender-like.
Indeed. I think he's using the same bass in the video for Geek Stink Breath too, which is Insomniac era. -
Very nice! Love the finish, it's not one that I've seen before!
-
Would you consider shipping? Chorley is a bit of a trek from SE London

Point taken, I know what I mean...powerful I guess
You might be better served with an EQ/Preamp pedal such as a Sansamp which would cost you a tenth of what a Stingray would -

I've seen those Strats and they look amazing.
If Fender offered a MIM 50s P and an American Standard P in surf green/sonic blue they would be a huge seller. I just do not understand it.
As much as they obviously know their business, they need to research more, get involved in forums/social networking with key members of staff who basically do that as their day job.
I know I would buy one. -

I've tried a few different brands and gagues recently (Roto, Ernie Ball, D'addario, Fender) and have gone backvto exclusively using Roto RB40 nickel. It's all personal preference though.
Bass Collection Power Bass - any good?

I'm fairly sure that the company that builds these has nothing to do with the company which built the much loved SB range during the 80s/90s..
