1. I seem to be getting latency when writing a post. its as if the forum software is missing out letters because I'm typing too quickly, and there is no chance of that with my one finger method Is this what you mean ? or is it like my Samsung Galaxy tablet that seem to "bounce" the web page ?
2.
I googled it to prove you wrong and you are indeed quite right. Just so long as someone knows what they are talking about.... now as you all were
I must have been having a rare good day
Not something I'd ever have noticed, except I bought a VIIS by mistake. It was one of those "There's something wrong with this bass" moments. The VIS had a conventional split pickup. The VIIS was the P/J version.
Ah, so it was two of the red VIS I had destroyed. It's a pity 'cos I liked them. They were the only two Sound Control had, so they tried to "repair" the nut on the second one. It had a jazz type nut on it, but came back to me with a cut down classical guitar nut ! I swopped it for a Korg expander.
3. Thanks Noel. I knew you'd remember
4.
I'm quite tempted by these http://www.fender.co...gerboard-black/
....but they're both 34" scale
5. I had a red medium scale Yamaha for a while in the 80's It looked like a BB. I took it back to sound control after the nut had broken. The replacement's nut broke too. Same bass, same song, same bit. Weird !!
6. I've got a 350, a 550, and a 650. I had another 550 that I had defretted. I foolishly sold it, and would love to have it back. Though I think I'd need a 400 to have the set. They're getting harder to find, and are also pricier these days, but I want to keep mine.
7. You could have a look for old Aria Pro II TSB and CSB basses. They're well made and sound good.
8. Errr.................have a look at his other stuff for sale
9. Yamaha S something or other. There was a guy on UKMG who used to collect the guitar versions.
10. I used Roto "Solo" half rounds on my fretless for years. There was hardly any wear on a rosewood fret(less !) board.
11. Now with free postage ! <drum roll/>....bugger, forgot I was selling them
12. <puts on tin foil hat/>
13. Ah, thanks. I thought it was just me.
14. Until the site makeover I was getting my email notifications as usual, but now it's not happening. Is it anything to do with my email address ending in .com ?
15.
Blimey mate. No offence meant, but it's posts like this that makes me realise I have a very open mind. The goal is to make music, not a technical exposé on how to record instruments in musical format. I also think that your olde worlde recording methods are limited to an old geezer with an old bass and an old amp, one tone, one approach, one option, James Jamerson for example. Popular music is so much more complex now. I could be using five different tones with different effects and envelopes in one song. You would hate the way I get my sounds and how I record. But I would like to think the music speaks for itself. I wonder what you think of this as a bass tone? I'm intereted to know http://kitrichardson.../you-always-did
I really like that tone. How did you get it, or is that a Nige trade secret ?
16. I forgot to say each Vex pack contains roughly 50 custom designed kits. http://www.vexpressionsltd.com/9.html and the Roland site for the version 1 TD9 http://www.roland.co.uk/products/productdetails.aspx?p=927

Harmonica

Someone more versed than me will be along shortly, but I think most blues stuff (like GG) is cross harp i.e. if it's in E (as is GG), you need an A harmonica.
18. SOLD Roland TD9 V.2 Vdrum Module with 6 Vex Packs, wiring loom, plinth and Manuals £349 Module is in excellent condition, from a smoke free house. It's had light use, and has never been gigged. I've had it from new. I've now priced it for a quick sale. The Vex packs that come with it are Acoustix, Expressions, Hodgepodge, Master 50, Metal Mania, Naturals, and Toolbox. These cost over £100, and make a huge difference. They really show off what the TD9v2 and vdrums are capable of. I'll throw in a flash drive to put both them , and any other libraries of kits on. Along with the module is the cable loom, the stand, power supply, and manuals. This is the version 2 module with more snare and bass sounds, and twice the number of kits. Paypal or Bank Transfer is fine, but I will only post within the UK . Postage is free within mainland UK, and collection of course is also free. You're welcome to come and demo it first. It's also advertised on vdrums.com Any questions, just ask.
19. [sub]Will that sort out my "no email notifications" too ?[/sub] [sub]Maybe StraightSix is getting all mine as well as his [/sub]
20. I don't use Gmail for BC, and there is nothing in my Junk folders. Would it have anything to do with me changing ISP ? It's still the same email address though, as I have a domain.
21. .....ah, but up until recently all was well, and had been for years.
