  1. Up for sale only is this rather excellent Crafted in Japan vintage white 62 reissue Fender jazz bass with upgraded Nordstrand NJ4 pickups (£160 upgrade). It also has the threaded bridge for better string spacing adjustment. It benefits from a recent fret level, crown and polish with a new set of D'Addario pro steels on. The gloss neck has also been knocked back with zero grade wire wool for a less sticky experience! Those glossy Fender necks do get a bit sticky. Plays excellently, sounds great and looks probably even better in the best colour combo (imho). Comes in a quality padded gig bag although I'm trying to source a case for it so may update the ad. Weighing in at 4.1kg it's surprisingly light for a P bass. That is not an anarchy symbol in the last pic, it's a reflection of my light fitting (although maybe it's an anarchic light fitting). Can ship anywhere or collection from CH43 on the Wirral Thanks for looking
  2. Brand new kickass black 4 string, 5 hole standard Fender bridge drop in replacement. Bought for one of my basses and then realised my bass was string through. Rather a school boy error..... £60 shipped within the UK.
  3. I noticed that my shadow in pic 1 resembles a crime scene marker from police squad!
  4. Up for sale is my 24 fret Korean made Spector Legend P/J bass with 3 band EMG preamp, EMG pickups, gold hardware and quilt maple top (or is it a veneer?) in Amber burst. Made between 2004 and 2006 these were a limited run before manufacture of legends switched. It's a rarity for Spector basses to have a 1.5" nut width but that's why I bought it. It's a delight to play having had a recent fret level, crown, polish and new D'Addario prosteels. Plays fantastic all the way to the dusty 24th fret. Comes in a Freestyle case which is, well, OK.... Only faults are one very minor filled ding to the headstock face and one snapped control cavity screw. Straight sale preferred. Can courier or meet within an hour of the wirral. Thanks for looking.
  5. Well since you mention it, having got the bass out and seen it in the sunlight again, I'm having severe 2nd thoughts. It's gorgeous. I'll see what happens but I think I'd be as happy to keep it.
  6. It wasn't the Ric's fault. I got a nasty bout of food poisoning and as a result managed to acquire a double inguinal hernia. The Ric is 4.2kg on the kitchen scales.
  7. Up for sale is my 2019 Rickenbacker 4003s in limited edition pillar box red. Unusally for a Ric these came with a maple fretboard. Bass is near mint condition, set up nicely it plays great and sounds as only a Ric can. Apparently there were only 25 of these made for the Uk market so it is a bit of a rarity. It comes with the Ric certificate and all the tags too. There are a few very tiny lacquer chips on the bottom edge. I couldn't really see them let alone photograph them but they are there somewhere. They are only the top coat of lacquer so not through the paint at all. The case has typical Ric case single foot damage but other than that the bass is mint condition. Weighs in at 4.2kg on the kitchen scales and now can be seen in a better light with new pics - more than can be said for my grass. I can take trades with cash my way. A skinny necked P would be nice and am always tempted by jazz basses. Finally, I can travel to meet up but have a hernia op on the 27th Aug so am out of action for a few weeks after that. Better pics provided
  8. No surprise it’s on hold. It’s well under priced…..
  9. Can’t believe this is still here. That is an amazing price for a limited run Geddy Lee US jazz bass. Somebody please buy this! You won’t regret it.
  10. I can’t think of a good reason! Inspired by your ad I just had a jazz bass play off. Shuker jazz vs Modulus VJ4 vs USA FMT deluxe vs USA Geddy Lee. The GL jazz was the clear winner. Just a brilliant jazz bass.
  11. Bargain. Note to self: I can’t have two of them…..
  12. Brilliant basses and, contrary to some musings, they’re superior to the Jap GL by a long way. They’re so fiery and very GL out of the box. I’ll never part with mine and somebody is in for a great deal for fantastic bass. GLWTS
  13. Bargain alert! Ihave a 1980 Elite and that era was superb.
  14. Harry White. He’s a skilled luthier banging out very good Ric copies to your own spec. Some say they are better than originals and cheaper too. I enquired a few years ago but didn’t go ahead as I’m a brand snob and couldn’t quite bring myself to pay a lot for a (very good) fake.
  15. Price dropped to £75 which is under half to the retail price. Fender pure vintage 74 reissue pickups in great condition. Bought for a project and then didn't bother. Perfect working order. 7.91 kOhm bridge and 7.25 kOhm neck.
  16. Roswell copy of Seymour Duncan SPB3 quarter pounder. High output P bass pickup (8.53kOhm) Looks in great condition.
  17. Crel handwound 7.68kOhm bridge pickup 94mm so standard jazz bridge width. Excellent condition. Was in the bridge of my USA Jag but I returned it to stock.
  18. Price dropped to a tenner. I just want someone to them rather than me bin them tbh. Nice condition assumed rotosound flat wound strings taken from a Rick 4003 so cut for 2 aside headstocks but with plenty of silk left (probably not enough for 4 a side)
  19. Legato comfort strap, 4" wide, extra padded. Has schaller strap locks on. Excellent condition. £10 plus a bit for postage.
  20. Up for sale is a Darkglass vintage deluxe mark 1 tube emulation drive DI pedal. Perfect working order with new power supply. £165 or offers.
  21. I have a 1980 4001 which is fantastic. The neck is skinny, stable and the frets don't wear with roundwounds. I replaced the bridge with a hipshot as the old bridges are a weak link for sure but a 78 would sound and play really nicely in my opinion. I have 2 other Rics, a brand new ltd edition orangeglo and a 2019 Ltd pillar box red with .apple board. I've also owned several others down the years but you cannot beat the gnarly grunt and playability of a 4001. Also, the necks are fiddly to set up and should be done by a pro but once set they rarely need tweaking. I can do my own fret levelling and set ups but won't touch the old hairpin truss equipped 4001. It was set up 2 years ago and plays as well now as then. Guess mine is a thumbs up to joining the Ric club.
  22. What a tricky question. Playability also to me also means comfort and versatility so the red 4003s would be the most playable. With having a maple board it’s a bit snappier so is less of a one trick pony and of course no body binding means no forearm injury so if I was gigging and needed the most playable then I'd take the red.
  23. Sure is. Number 11 of 30. My surname is Orange and it was sort of meant to be.......... On the left is a very good nick 1980 4001, middle a 2019 limited run pillar box red 4003s and of course, L'Orange on the right.
