  1. Hi Aidan I’m guessing that shipping to London will be £25. If less I can refund the difference - if more I’ll meet the cost thanks, Mike
  2. I did advertise this a few months back and then changed my mind because it's so nice ... but I have to be honest with myself about how little use it's getting as I tend to use my p bass most of the time. On offer here is a really nice active Sandberg California 2 in natural swamp ash from 2016 with rosewood fretboard and abaolone dot inlays. The Sandberg website lists this new as Eu 2,100. No dents or dings, just light swirling to the scratchplate. The bass is perfectly balanced and comes in at 8.2lbs on my handheld luggage scales. Comes with Sandberg gig bag and original cardboard shipping box. Based near Tenby in Pembrokeshire if you want to come and try it out. Would consider swap or part ex for US Precision, one of the better Yamaha BBs or a Ric 4003. I also have a Hofner violin bass listed if you're interested. Thanks for looking. PS shipping is possible but would obviously prefer collection in person.
  3. On offer here is a Hofner Violin Bass from the company's Contemporay series. I played this for a few years when having back issues! It comes with an attractive Hofner hard case and Hofner leather strap. It has been fitted recently with a set of LaBella 760FHBB flatwound strings for that authentic tone. Action is currently set quite low, the way I like it - if you liking digging in on a bass you'd need to raise it. No dents or dings but it does have a light stratch to the black headstock around the E machine head from a string end, not sure it shows up in the pictures. Can post. Thanks for looking. P.S. Would consider swap or part exchange for a 4 string Yamaha BB, in particular a BB734a.
  4. the BB is my preference by quite a margin ....
  5. I have one of these - fantastic basses and that is a fantastic price
  6. not really looking for trades thanks, unless a really tempting Precision came along .... 😉
  7. On offer here is my Sandberg California II TT4 in natural swamp ash, now £1100. Beautiful Sandberg quality with rosewood fingerboard, abalone dots & 9v active electronics. Bought last year from Classic and Cool Guitars - link below - but I tend to use my Precision more. https://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/portfolio/sandberg-tt4-swamp-ash/ please note the colour balance on the C&CG site is too pale - the one where it's on the scales is more accurate. No dents or dings, the only thing worth mentioning is light scratches to the scratch plate from normal use which is shown in one of the pics below. Can post to mainland UK. Looking at the Sandberg website I reckon this would cost £1800 new. Weight is 8.3lbs. Comes with Sandberg soft case and original cardboard box. thanks for looking, MIke PS currently fitted with Dunlop Straploks, originals included.
  8. can I ask the dreaded 'W' question - what does it weigh? - thanks
  9. I can't even work out how this bass is different to the Blazer I had in 1981!
  10. plays really well - the pickups have amazing output - they are much louder than my 9v actve bass. the neck is much more like a typical Precision than the modern Ibanez basses I've played. There's a nice vintage fading to the maple from the age of the bass. The guitar looks nicer now I've put black tone and volume control knobs on - you've reminded me I need to post new pics, will do that tomorrow.
  11. Yes from a Sandberg - I didn’t realise they did their own strings - it’s most likely their own make isn’t it ... thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
  12. Ok so I have spent quite a time looking at various websites, including 25 pages of the TalkBass strings database, but have been unable to find a match. I’ve just bought a bass with these strings on - can anyone tell me the make and model? They are roundwounds, and feel like 45-105s (although I don’t have a micrometer). All four have silver ball ends and a sliver/beige silk binding. Any help gratefully received! ps I did try the dealer that sold me the instrument but he wasn’t sure ...
  13. thanks for the info .... now I know that the strap lock buttons that I described as 'moustache' are in fact called Dead End! I wonder how long the marketing dept spent on that one 😉
  14. Did think about that but ended up getting a small Fender combo for a good price !
  15. On offer here is a boxed Babicz bridge for Gibson or Epiphone basses. Boxed with all parts, inluding instructions. Can post to mainland UK. Thanks for looking.
  16. I've had so much fun with this amp and used it every day for a year connected to a Markbass 1x15" speaker. Although it's only rated at 5w I could never turn it past 3/4 volume in the house - although of course your experience may vary depending on the efficiency of the speaker. Takes line in for MP3 etc and has a headphone connection. Only selling as my better half doesn't want a 1x15 cab in our front room any more 😞 Can post to mainland UK.
  17. On offer here is a nice Ibanez Roastar II from March 1984, in burgundy. The bass is in good condition with a few light surface scratches, but no major dings to the body. It still has the original 'moustache' strap buttons. There are a few marks to the top of the headstock which I've tried to show in one of the pictures. These guitars have a small but dedicated following. The only thing I'm not entirely sure is genuine are the control knobs - perhaps any BC'ers can advise? I think they might be original as the plastic is pretty well worn on the inside, so that they will keep on turning past the maximum tone and volume position. However, a 1981 Blazer I had came with solid brass controls so I'm not sure. The case isn't in such good condition as the guitar - the original owner has undertaken a repair to the handle (which works!) and the plywood at the base of the case is slightly damaged. I suspect it could be glued back into place by someone who knows what they are doing. I can ship to mainland UK for £25. Not widly keen to sell as it's such a nice guitar, but I have a new Sandberg arriving tomorrow and probably ought to put the bank balance back in some sort of order. Thanks for looking! edit 13th March - price now reduced and open to offers - also I have changed the tone and volume controls to make them look more like the originals - will post picture soon. edit 16th March - I have now added some new pictures to show the new control knobs. Also, after a question about the neck I have added a picture which shows some minor fret wear, alhtough it's nothing I have ever noticed while playing.
  18. These don't come up for sale too often - on offer here is a really nice condition short Scale Fender Jazz bass, Modern Player series, made in China. No dings, dents, scratches or marks. Plays nicely, with Precision pickup at the neck position and Jazz pickup at the brodge, fitted with Fender's Hi-Mass bridge. Comes with Ritter gig bag. Can be seen/played at my house in Pembrokeshire or picked up from me at work in Cardiff. It's Candy Apple red - the colour settings on my camera are a bit out.
