2. True enough, but how likely is it that the circuit board is dud?
3.
No idea myself - sorry! But you have a lovely looking bass there Does it play & sound as good as it looks?
I have no idea , it needs a nut and a bridge. Hopefully it'll sound just as rockabilyl as it looks
4. Absolutely beautiful... insane price tag though
5.
Needless to say, nothing on the Gibson site for us to drool over (I fail to see how, in this day and age, a company like Gibson can issue a new model and not even update theis sh*tty site).
Unbelievable since Sixx is Gibsons most popular Rock bassist. I think he's probably shifted more Epiphone T-Birds alone than the marketing department. Lovely looking bass, shame about the inlays though, bit tasteless for my liking - should've gone for something more traditional or symmetrical
6. Posted this on another thread. Given to me by my Great Uncle. Made in Japan stamp. No idea what model Vox it is, hopefully someone will identify it. Cheers
7. Bump - Anyone have an idea what model it could be?
8. Just emailed Brandoni. Cheers for that, I can't believe I forgot about them - I ordered bits for another project a few years back through them
9. Hmmm looks a bit like the Bobcat, Ultrasonic and Cheetah. It's got a made in japan imprint on the neck plate if that helps...
10. My Great Uncle found this in the loft, knowing I was a bass player he gave it to me. all I know is it's a Vox and it needs a new nut and a new bridge (if anyone could point me in the right direction for these Id' be grateful). Possibly some electronic attention too Any ideas what model it is?
11.
Anyway, I still think that's an ugly bass, ya cakey pig
Don't make me go back t' dark place
Hum depends on what you order and how keen he is .. Might get change from £1800 ...
Yike, the American guy quoted me a third of that
I spoke to my band mates today in practice today about this bass, anyway we took a look a decided it's time we brought Skulls back to the set list. So we are playing it tomorrow night
Hurrah! My favourite classic Misfits song
12.
My mate Jon Shuker will always look at a challenge and interesting bass project ..
How much do you reckon he's charge?
Given the current mood in BC I don't particularly wish to offend anyone, but Christ Alive, that's a butt-ugly bass. It's as punk as a Bentley Continental. IMHO of course. I'd be scared of getting VD off a bass that pointy. Would you describe what it is you like about it? What would you think of a surf green version? What's with the skull trip?
Woof Bark Donkey - UNCLE PETER!!! Sorry, I got rather excited at seeing Charlie Chuck as your avatar. Umm yes I understand it's ugly to some, I see it more as a cool bit of Misfits memorabilia I can gig. and surf green? not really but I like the colour, it's what my bedrooms painted in.
13. Been emailing a luthier in America who specialises in the sublime. Interesting development, he said he could do it and he's mentioned that he could do a 25.5" scale version. Obviously the playability would be crazy cos of the guitar scaled neck, what I'd worry about is how it's gonna sound...
14. I never take a backup, I'm a heavy handed plectrum player and I've yet to break a string on my own bass. I did however snap the A string on the bass I borrowed out in Hungary, halfway through the set and carried on - luckily I managed to play the rest of the set in an improvised manner
15. TJs is your best bet for a good punk crowd. I gigged there with the UK Subs not too long ago and the crowd were awesome
16. TJs - Newport, goes without saying. Metros, Barfly, Clwb Ifor Bach, The Point - Cardiff Ponty Muni is pretty good too
17. South Wales. If you wanna check us out /add us you can find us here: myspace.com/foreignlegionpunk youtube.com/foreignlegionpunk durtymickrecords.com
18. Unfortunately no... We play to crazy punks with mohicans and skinheads... and general bikers etc. Altho I would love to play a wedding just to see the faces of the bride and her family haha
19. That custom is awesome! Know of any luthiers I could ask?
20. Does anyone know of any reasonably priced luthiers who could produce a Devastator?
21. Yeah, I got a warlock. Really I'd be looking at something as near as near can be haha. I can see me enquiring with some luthiers! I've held the real deal in my hands, Jerry's a top man - ever since I saw it up close in the flesh I've wanted my own version
22. The BC Rich looks pretty close, shame it's a 5 string
23. OUCH! I bet it's cheaper to get a luthier to make one instead of buying the Warwick
24. I've had a look, I know Bernie Rico Jr is making replicas but as you are aware they won't be cheap. I'm looking for a suitably off the shelf option that I won't be afraid to gig Just incase anyone isn't sure of what it looks like this is the bass in question
