1. Been out of the loop for a while and only just getting back into things, believe I brought this topic up a few years back but would be interested to see if user base has changed since. Anyone using any of the moose electronics range? Particularly the Dobsky and battle hammer and could chime in about its use within a mix etc? Sounds quite dark on the demo..

  3. http://mooseelectronics.bigcartel.com Interested in the dobsky and battle hammer, anyone had any experience? Look reasonably priced, only found one demo of them.
I'm a little curious as well. I got a Ray gun Aroura delay a couple of weeks ago ..... Superb quality, silly low priced.
Yeah I know some guitarists with his stuff and it's really well made, just can't believe the prices, I may give the bass soda drive a go at Somepoint..

So has anyone had one of these and can comment on it? With pedals getting more and more expensive, this guy keeps them pretty cheap at £65 and they sound pretty good on the demo, has anyone actually bought one? Can see it potentially replacing my VMT... 8. Want but also skint until end of the month.
  9. Usually Blend at 12 o'clock Era at 3 o'clock and Drive just past 1 o'clock and then level dependent on unity gain, have mine on all the time too, looking to upgrade to the deluxe at some point
  10.
That's pretty much it I think, also the track "Mantra" he did with Grohl/Trent Reznor is a good example of this. Side note, anybody else going to the RAH to see Iggy in 2 weeks?
Yeah just searching for the right drive! And I wish I was!
  11.
Great song. Sorry, nothing to contribute apart from that
Great album too!
  12.
Anything Josh Homme is involved with commonly has flats on it such as when he was playing bass on the last few Queens albums using that semi hollow Yamaha with flats. Flats with a bit of drive and a pick would get you very very close
yeah, just workin out what drive, something between an sft, blueberry or beta perhaps?
  13.
What a great song/album. No doubt this is some sort of real tube overdrive, but one that can be emulated by a VT Bass pedal. Sounds like some sort of neck humbucker to me with flats and/or the treble knocked down.
Yeah I love it. And yeah I was wondering either VT or maybe VMT sort of area... I believe Matt Sweeney uses an EB-0 with flats, just been trying to work out that punchy drive which probably came from a valve amp but now to work out what gets closest to it...
  14.
I think a phaser may get you close.
More specifically looking at the drive on the bass but thanks for the reply
  15. Looking for a pedal to get close to the drive and tone in this song, any suggestions? Cheers http://youtu.be/1m8TmlS20ZA

  17. This still available? Currently saving for one of these, PM me late January if you still have it. Cheers, Patch
  18.
Tarkin has massive low end, and the particularly useful "Mids" knob. It certainly cuts through, and makes the Bass Big Muff sound like a joke...
sounds like the tarkin is the way to go then! Cheers
  19.
not used the other but the cog.....that thing is filth but it sits in the mix really well. i recorded with it at the weekend, just worked so well support, Supported the guitars but worked with the drums aswell. Andy
Cheers, sounds like buying British is the best... Ive currently got an EHX bass big muff deluxe but don't really like it, so hopefully the Cog would be a big improvement
  20. Looking for a comparison of the two fuzzes if anyone's used them both, which cuts through a mix more and which gets the most fuzz/saturation? Does either sound better than the other for a heavy bass fuzz sound that cuts through the mix? Cheers
  21.
Does it cut the sound though suddenly? Literally there is no sustain at all, just dead nothingness. it just doesn't sound 'right' to me
Yeah mine does that, it's the way a gate works, when the note sustains it gets quieter and so the gate cuts it off when on settings about 9 o' clockish, which is why I never set the gate higher. I think I'm gonna be selling mine soon and getting something a little better tbh...
