2. Hi, I need to get rid of this and before I take it to the tip I thought I'd try popping it on here. It was an Ashdown Electric Blue 1x15 150watt Combo but I blew the speaker on a rocky/folk gig with no monitoring. I only took it because I thought it'd be a nice quiet gig. I've removed the head so all that is left is the cab with the remnants of a speaker in it. Ashdown seem to have glued it in as well as using 8 screws. I can't remove it and it's not for lack of trying. I removed a couple of corners so fit to another Ashdown amp I bought as a replacement. Lets say £20 or make me an offer. Thanks Kim

obbm's feedback

Just got a custom cable (jack socket to jack socket) from OBBM and it's an absolute beast of a cable. Excellent communicator, excellent price and it was delivered the day after payment. I'd recommend his cables to anyone.
4. Wasn't the fan in the end, I haven't been able to pinpoint the issue but I disconnected the fan and hooked it up to a 9v battery and it worked. Made a makeshift external battery case from Maplins bits and bobs. It'll do the trick for now, messing with the PCB is beyond my knowledge and toolkit.
5. Thanks, looks like a replacement fan is on the cards.
6. Hi, I've picked up a second hand MAG300 2x10 Combo (Not EVO). It's got a single fan behind the heatsinks. I was wondering if this fan was temperature controlled or if it was supposed to run as soon as the amp was turned on? I did a forum search and some answers give the impression that it runs as soon as the amp is on but this is not explicitly addressed. Thanks Kim
7. Thanks LawrenceH and Mr. Foxen That's very interesting information from both of you and something that for the most part I'd not considered. I had thought about a phase issue but figured there was little I could do with actually having the cabs to try them out. I'll probably pop the 1x15 on top for the first few gigs just to see if we're getting into the danger zone. It's typically used on functions so I can't see myself hitting 'cooking' volumes but I don't want to blow anything. Is there a formula for calculating the wattage delivered to each cab? 400w head into two daisy chained 8ohm cabs 4x10 and 1x15? Thanks, Kim
8. PM'ing now, this is sounding like a very good idea!
9.
You just learned why mixing 4x10 and 1x15 is a bad plan, if you dig the sound of the 4x10, but need louder, get another one. If not, rig rethink time. Then you have to weigh the cost of replacing the 15" speaker against the sale value of the cab, considering it has a value without a speaker.
I'm curious, why is this a bad plan? Is the 1x15 more likely to blow in this situation? I was about to start running my rig as a 4x10 and 1x15 but I have the option to run as a 4x10 and 2x10 or 2x10 and 1x15 if either of those option would be safer. Sorry for the hijack but I figure any information shared would be relevant. Thanks Kim
10. Don't think I've ever had to write this before but.. Thanks KingBollock those look perfect! ---- Obbm, I'd be after a Jack Socket to Jack Socket cable. I've got a head with Speakon and XLR outputs and another two heads with Jack outputs so a JS to JS cable would offer me the greatest flexibility for rig setups. Is that something you could provide through obbm Cables and if so how much would it cost? Kind regards, Kim
11. Hi, I just picked up an Ashdown MAG300 2x10 Combo second hand. I'm looking to use the cab without the head but need to change the jack plug which comes out of the cabinet to a jack socket so I can use it with my other rig. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy a decent jack socket that would be suitable for use externally. i.e. It won't be set into the cab. That might not make a lot of sense so I've attached pics to show what what I'd like to change. The first picture is what I have currently, the second is the socket that I'm looking to buy. But I wont be able to attach it to the cab in the same way so I'm looking for one that I could fit externally. Thanks Kim
12. I've bought two items from Mark a Squier VM Fretless Jazz and an amp rack case, I collected both and they were in great condition. He's a great seller and I would highly recommend him.
