2. For Sale. ***PRICE DROP £420***

For as long as I can remember I always wanted one of these beauties and when the opportunity to own one came up about 6 months ago I jumped at the chance. Sadly however, it just is not getting the use that is clearly deserves so I thought I would pass it on to another appreciator of fine vintage British instruments.

This is a very early Mk.1 1976 example as demonstrated by the 'big plate' scratchplate and the use of the surplus Hayman stock neck. Serial number 6022.

The bass itself sounds awesome giving a really throaty punchy growly tone (not a million miles away from a Ric neck pickup) with loads or presence and sustain. All original. Stereo output option (splits the E A strings to one amp, and D G to another). Nice and light, and well balanced. Holds its tuning really well. Beautiful vintage sunburst complemented with a lovely maple neck. Looks terrific in the mirror!

Obviously, given its age, there are a few knocks and bumps on this particular example but I imagine that most people considering one of these items would be aware of that fact.

I can throw in a gig bag, stereo lead and brand new strap that I bought specifically for this. Just looking for what I paid for it. Happy to post as buyers expense but might need a few days to get the box/materials together.

Any questions, fire away. Thanks.

3. So I recently splashed out on a couple of quality Strymon delay pedals (El Capistan and DIG) which I am completely in love with. However, when powered by my Diago MicroPower9 there is a very subtle but audible high pitch ringing/hiss both when engaged and bypassed. This noise does stop as soon the pedals are powered by there own individual 9v power supplies.

So my questions are: has anyone else had this particular issue, and; can anyone recommend a way of getting around this rather than being forced to carry around 3/4 separate power supply cables. I am more than happy to purchase a more suitable (better(?)) power supply assuming a different one will definitely rectify the issue.

Thanks in advance.

Building a new big pedalboard, strictly for fun and experiments at home (too heavy for me to carry around, and with effects I wouldn't really use for blues and classic rock :) )

The board has a PT Pro footprint, and fully loaded it is stupidly heavy, but as I don't intend to carry it outside the house I can live with it.

Still missing cables which I have to solder over the coming days, something I don't look forward to. :)

Oh my! Lovely stuff.

5. I am on the lookout for places that can cut pickguards to a custom shape. I have found a couple of places online but just thought I would see if anyone had any first hand experience and any recommendations. Thanks in advance.

you're giving me ideas... lots of scope for ambient intro's and sections in our bands stuff, and currently relying on a dispatch master alone... it needs some company!!

out of interest, how prominent can the reverb get on the el cap?

Its interesting that you ask that actually as I was looking for the same information before buying it.

Personally, I am really impressed with the depth of the reverb. Its obviously not got the lushness of the Eterna but is more than useful for most applications and the spring reverb makes an interesting complement to the Eterna.

Interestingly, I have just found a way of setting it up so that it can be used solely as a reverb pedal which opens up yet more options on an already feature laden pedal. This is particularly useful if you have the favorite button so you can go between just a spring reverb sound to the full on delay (with or without reverb) at the press of a switch.

Organizer with an Eterna is ultimate

Absolutely! Suits my particular ethereal style of playing. In fact, it was a comment made by yourself a good while ago that prompted me to give them a try so thanks for that.

8. Just thought I would quickly share with you all the latest evolution of my board. Need to add a true bypass switch (for switching on multiple effects at once, namely the POG and Organizer (sic)) and replace that daft red lead.

As you may have guessed, I am one of those more ambient style bassists.

9. I recently moved to Glasgow and started a new project under the name of Layaway.

Sneak peek at our debut EP can be found via the link.

Cheers.

10. I adored my Pedaltrain Jr - that was until my POG2 got busted up inside it whilst in transit. I have since returned to my Diago board for complete no-stress protection. In my personal experience, the ease of handling and transport of the soft cases does not come close to the requirement to house my pedals with security.

11. Hey all. I am thinking about building my own single channel true bypass looper pedal which will be used to switch on multiple pedals at once. Hoping to keep it simple at this stage - just one switch with four jack inputs in a small box (not even interested in an LED). Just wondered if anyone has any experience in this build and maybe point me in the right direction of build diaries, components, schematics etc etc. Cheers.

The second was a squire bronco bass. After I levelled the frets etc it could take a fantastic action. Very easy to play. But I really liked its "rubbish" strat pickup. Not great in the bass department not the highest output but did have good mids and a good growl, I thought it worked really well with pedals too. Again very one dimensional. And being picky the bottom strap button was misaligned.

+1 on the Bronco. I loved mine from years back but sadly it had an unfortunate episode with a flight of stairs.

yeh and im not even sure that with leads plugged in the delays loop it would work if they werent connected, but by the time you factor even cheap aby's buying a second pedal is probs cheaper.

Agreed. Already started the search. Thanks again.

the only way i can think of wiring that up would be to use a few aby boxes,

if you thook a line from the out of the pedal in the chain into the aby, a outlet going an aby then to the mod pedal then out of the mod into another aby.
then the a back to the next pedal in the chain.
then the b into the effects loop on the delay ( ie you can pick where the mod goes chain or loop)
then you would need to take the first aby's b back to the next pedal in the chain, where you now have 2 cables flip the another aby so you you have a and b as inputs and y as your out into the pedal.
then out of your loop on the delay you do a similar to the aby we took the the a outlet of the first aby into, use y as the outlet and a and b as the inputs.

ive attached a pic there maybe an easier way but to switch it from loop to in the chain takes 4 aby's so probs easier to buy a second modulation to put in the loop
Cheers for this. I had no idea it would be quite that mind boggling. This solution may be a bridge to far.

15. This may have come up before but I am having difficulty in trying to find the correct search words for the query I have, so here goes.

Does anyone know of a way whereby one can connect a pedal (e.g. modulation) into the effects loop of a delay pedal (e.g. Deluxe Memory Boy) and be able to use it both within that loop in addition to setting it up in such a way that is can be used individually too, i.e. as if it is simply plugged as standard into an effects chain?

I really hope that all makes sense.

Any help or links to previous threads on this matter would be much appreciated.
