Looks a bit like static on an old school telly

Some of the examples shown here are pretty, sure, but not exciting looking in any way.
I like this one for instance, poor picture unfortunately but the quiolted maple top and transparent green lacquer really do the extreme bodyshape justice:

When playing rock covers, wearing slacks and a button-down shirt is out of place. Ripped jeans and leather jackets or somesuch would be more appropriate.
Try to match your looks and pose to the music you play, look the part or as close to as feasible.

Stacking two cabs vertically will give a better result unless you're playing arenas I think, due to acoustic coupling?

Well .. no not any, I'm sorry for charging there. An operational one. Music amplifier or bass head. Preferably cheap and from the previous millennium. Like they used when playing good rock and blues music. That should do nicely!

Someone has to, in order for them to become available secondhand.

A good alternative would be any Peavey head. Loud, warm and tight, add a preamp or pedal for overdrive though I'm not sure you'll need one.

It is the meatsmoke valve preamp, not really comparable indeed.
What toneshaping do you want to accomplish that is unique to the sadowsky?

Ta guys! I'm not the best player but it has been the only backup for the stingray for a good while. Once you're used to the different position it is not that hard (ooer)

Wear a wide sweatband and suck it up, or adjust strap to comfortable height. Acoustics are even deeper, I manage to play thrash metal on my cabbie.

Peavey T-40? Dont know about the neck though.

Ah the 1x15 may be what's bugging you. A somewhat clearer sounding 2x12 cab may give you more definition and cut through, as well as helping with volume due to larger speaker surface.
An other option still is adding a 2x10 if shlepping 2 cabs is an option.

Rubbish comment. Ronny James Dio, Glenn Danzig to name a couple. HM is no more 'boy band image' affected than any other popular music.
There are commercial acts whose image precedes musicianship (i.e. Poison, Motley Crue, Cradle of Filth) but they are far outnumbered by the people that try to make energetic powerful guitar oriented music and don't care as much about looks.

Bring a stack taller than you.

Love DRs! I use their DDTs in near-standard tuning. The lo-riders I used to use are good too, but I found the hi-beams too zingy. Not enough clout.

A five string V would make sense though!
