1.
I'm down near Dover in Kent. You're based in Birmingham right? Shame we're not closer!
London part of the week. I'm studying music there.
  2.
I'm ok at blagging that one actually and we normally keep arrangements fairly simple, thanks though, now I'm not sure about our guitarist nailing the EVH solo!
That's the key part of the song that pretty much everyone remembers and air guitars along too
  3. Got a chart for Beat it if you want ?
  4.
Both, although '6 string bassics' covers a range of technical exercises, it's the only book I've managed to find suited to 6 string bass, against the overwhelming material for 4 string. I Just went for it too!
Whereabouts are you ? I bought this from a friend at uni a couple of weeks back. I already have a Strymon El Capistan delay, and this doesn't really do anything too different from that. I thought I may use the modulation effect, but I have that covered by my Neunaber pedal. This is a great pedal, really feature loaded, and in great condition. I'd like £[s]65[/s] £55 for it, which will include next day shipping.
  6.
No doubt posters will be at a premium with Mark King playing - "please Mark can you sign my poster..."
Didn't realise Mark King was gonna be there, that's kind of put me off going. Imagine the din of 500 people all thinking they too can play like Mark @@$%^& King !
  7. I'd really like to go to this, bit pricey though. Is there a student discount ticket ?
  8. I have a lot of stuff, I was gonna do a book, but haven't had time. What specifically do you want ?
  9. These are great, Michael Manring used to use one, you can really tweak the effects to get some great results.
  10.
It's in your profile. Manage attachments or summat. Can't understand why anyone would bother using it though, it's rather clunky. Much better to use photobucket or Facebook and paste the link into the image module of your post.
I like that
  11.
I would love the Zawinul book. How do you want paying?
Would bank transfer be ok ?
  12. Brand new and unopened. Fantastic strings. £15 including postage.
  13. Like new, only used briefly. £15 including postage.
  14.
Good evening, ambient... The photos aren't stored in the ad, they're in your Profile. Try this ... Go to your 'My Profile' (your pseudo, top right...). Select 'Edit my Profile' (black button a bit below...). Select 'Manage Attachments' (in the list on the left...). They are listed in date order. Navigate to oldest, select those to be deleted (tick boxes on the right...). Select 'Delete Selected' (grey button at bottom right of list...). Repeat, page by page, until all unwanted attachments are deleted. An external photo account such as PhotoBucket or ImageShack is a good idea, of course, if using higher resolution photos. Hope this helps. Any problems, get back and we'll see what's up. Good luck with the sale.
Brilliant, thank you All now done.
  15.
Easiest way would be to send me a list of them and I'll unlock them for you.
Thanks, you'll be sorry you said that, there's quite a few I'll remember to delete any at the time of marking stuff sold next time
  16. I'm trying to post some photos in a sale advert, but I'm getting the message that I've exceeded my global upload thingy I'm guessing I have too many photos already. How do I delete them in locked sales threads ?
  17. I bought this from a guy on here about 3 years ago. I'd just started my degree course and wanted something to cover the blues and soul songs we were doing at the time. I was enamoured by my one tutors Fender Pino bass, something I at the time aspired to own, but didn't have the cash for I was going to get someone build me a look-a-like, but never got around to it, and in the end I bought a CIJ Pino look-a-like from a guy on here. That lasted about a month before I discovered that I really didn't like it, and had no use for it outside of college. This was off a Mexican P bass, I can't remember what the original colour was, but I had a friend of my brother's strip it totally and refinish it using Fiesta red nitro paint. It's been stored on top of a wardrobe and underneath a bed since I got it back. I have absolutely no use for it, but would like the cash to put towards another revere pedal It has picked up a couple of small dinks during storage, these could maybe be touched up, but they probably add to the relic look if that's what you wanted. These are shown in the photos. The two on the front would probably be covered by the pickguard, that would just leave 2 small ones, one on the side and another on the lower horn. I'd like £60 for it, i think I paid £50, but the spraying cost me another £50, so I'm well out of pocket on it . Postage is included.
  18. Would definitely be interested in hearing any recordings. As I said in my PM, I'm sorry I couldn't make it to this, I'd dearly have loved to, this last week has been a nightmare with exams and hand-ins. I will definitely come along to at least one of your other gigs though.
  19.
Errmm... quite a few, I'm guessing? Unless I've misunderstood the whole purpose of the forum and it's not really for bass players? Maybe it's actually for guitarists who just pick up the bass occasionally - for a laugh.
I mean note wise What note on the bass, and how it works with and against the harmony of the song.
  20.
I agree and still read it as you not having to be a die hard bassist to join, a guitarist knocking out root notes could be just what is needed. The fact remains that bass is probably the easiest instrument to get to gig level on imo.
I would say that was correct. How many members on here actually know what they're playing ? There was a guy on here posted a year or so ago, that when coming up with a part for a new song, he just plays all the notes over a chord, until he finds the one that fits. Then repeats the exercise for the next chord, and so on, and so on. So bass doesn't necessarily require a great knowledge, if your guitarist tells you what note to play over a chord, and you stick to the root notes, then that's it, you've got the gig
