1. I got the morley so I'm looking to get rid of these pedals reasonably quickly if you want to make me a offer just pm me and we can work something out.

I can't make sound clips of the pedals sadly but you all know what the crybaby is like! The chorus is a really cool pedal, sound clips can be found on the boss site for this and the mega distortion which is really cool with bass if you keep the gain down, it really doesn't take a lot of lows out of your sound like most dist's do.

I am looking into getting a big muff so if you have one for trade I'm willing to take that as a part ex or with money.

  2.
Cheers man! Its a shame they are so freakin slack!

I think on that recording it was my old Trace 400 SMX (now sold on) through a 4x10 they had at the studio (bizarre make, but damn crisp) and a sansamp to add some grit. Some of the songs are just DI into the board through the sansamp.

The bass? Just my MIJ Reissue Fender P! Least expensive bass I own, but does a sterling job :)
Cool man, I just picked me up a mia 98 p! Its my first fender and its really nice gave it a go at my bands gig last Thursday and it sounded wicked, still prefer my modulus to it tho but its a close second I gotta say!

  4.
I bought a brand new SVT 810E cab....expecting it to solve everything. It just wasn't really that impressive. You had to have it very loud to get a good tone. That was a Vietnam cab....and yes QC wise it was pretty damn spot on! But...Ive never owned the US stuff.

I dunno....that and the fact my friends Ampeg SVT 3 Pro struggles with volume has really put me off Ampeg. I won't be going back to them now...the cab has gone and the much nicer sounding/looking Aguilar cabs took its place.

I tested a SVT-VR and I found it pretty dull. I was probably not EQ'ed correctly, but it did not have the wow factor for me.

I think after a few years Ampeg will pull it back.....but I cant see myself tempted by their products again.
im forced to agree with you with the volume thing, with my pro-6 it does seem like they've exaggerated the output, it just doesn't seem 1100w loud. but i do love the tone that it puts out! and on bigger stages with di support i never have to worry and if your playing somewhere where its just your backline with my 610 it plenty loud enough.

also my 610 is built in china and has spotless QC

also just checked out you band dude! nice tone!

  5. im getting a morley fuzz wah and to free up the cash i need to move on a couple of pedals that i have.

i have a mint condition boss bass chorus

and a very well looked after dunlop crybaby bass wah.

im ideally looking for cash, but may consider a trade for the right thing.
just caught wind of this - ampeg 610 hlf £499 new. awesome company to deal with as too - ordered my wireless and tuner from here. really helpful when i had a wee problem and phoned them - resolved in about 15 minutes, and it wasn't even their fault!

woh ! there been ah 100% increase in price!

  7.
+1million - dont even change the fuse and plug it back in... might be teaching to suck eggs here, but can't stress safety enough.
the leads gone! damn promoter chucked it during our set!

  8.
Even a high power amp shouldn't draw that much continuous current unless there is a fault or you are using a very low current power lead. A hi-fi amp of mine did a similar thing years ago which was related to transformer failure.

    Alex
im using the lead that came with the amp and it's been fine up till now.

yeh i dnt plan to turn it on again till im at mansons tomoz, the kettle leads a bigger gauge than norm because of the current it needs, i suppose it may have been on the brink of breakin?

but yeh it def of to the tech to sort!

im thionking of picking up a baby amp to use as a backup now tho! Mmmm

  10. doing a sound check for our gig thursday night, and i smelt burning looked behind and the kettle lead of my pro-6 was smoking! turned it of straight away, and unplugged the lead from back of the amp, and it was melted! and stinking!

what the hell would cause that! i know the pro 6 has a large current draw! but its never happened anywhere else! any ideas?

im taking it to get looked at tomorrow as it is under guarantee but im concerned as we play alot of places this size and i'd rather not have my amp doing this half the time! is there any way to help the current draw stay down?

  11. been listening to alot of live metallica from back in the day!, ive heard this is what burton used to get the awesome fuzz tone in his solos and lead breaks in songs?

this true, if so whats a reasonable price and how hard are they to change to 230v? as i believe there a mains supplied pedal?

    anyone used one on bass?

    andy

  12. i was a little disapointed when i a/b one with the svt pro-6 but in fairness there a big price gap between the to.

i had a problem with how loud it is, as with my band id have been cranking it, but i agree it did have the ampeg tone but the pro's in my opion beat it as with the tube pre it just adds that little bit extra, but to be honest they aren't all bad, not like what alot of people make them out to be. infact ampeg aren't as bad as what people make them out to be.

  13. one of the songs is now up " waiting for my life to begin"

please go have a listen and let me know what you think? also check out the other songs that were recorded at our drummers house all opinions are welcome

they in the player at www.myspace.com/syruss

  14.
can be, IMV but depends on how you transport which is why I asked that question.... can you fit a 4x10 in the car or whatever ?
Also, we are talking about a certain budget here and he also needs an amp. The Eden setup F/S was mentioned so I went along those lines
for a practical answer, I think..

Unless you have crew you will probably have compromises in your kit...
I tend to favour a smaller flexible set-up so I can mix and match but also get it into a coupe, on small gigs it is 2 carries if need be.. and for larger ones, 4 carries max
It shouldn't break the back either but it is a very good sound for most stages.
If space and weight wasn't the main issue, I would defo run other bigger cabs in a sub and a top end config
yep i dream the day when i can have roadies! my rig would be much different!

  15. just out of intrest do you guys not think of a 2x210 setup as a limiting setup?, ie you amp will be running at 4 ohms with basically a 410 on it? i know for transporting it is easier.

kind of along the same lines but i really liked the 212 aguilar cabs that i tried out a while back i think they were the gs version? that was with the gk 700rb as well sounded ok, not a fan of the gk tone tho.

  16.
Something is broken then

Could be a lead, a connector or who knows, but that is not normal!
+1 or are there input/output jacks?

i would agree with what the guys have said upgrade the amp then go from there, this is what i did, i went from a 40w combo amp then started using a vintage trace v4 with matching 412 cab. loved that but the drummer would never have sold it, so i started looking for my own rig, got a orange ad140b and 115 cab but this even tho nice the 140w just wasn't enough unless in a small venue plus with the orange not having a di output for bigger venues was a pain (i know i could have used a di box). i was considering getting the other cab (410) but it would mean lugging around two cabs and i dnt think the volume increase would have been worth it. In the end i decided to trade the orange for an amp with a lot more power (ampeg svt pro-6) and also while at it i decided to go for a one cab system, i choose an ampeg 610hlf really easy to move around and a nice and loud rig.

  17.
Shoreline gold hasn't been available on regular American Standard instruments for quite some time. Sage Green was mostly a MiM colour and I don't recall it being available on MIA instruments at the time this Precision was built, but it does appear to be Sage Green indeed.
we'll go for sage green then :-)

  18.
Er, dunno how your monitors are set, but that's deffo not Shoreline Gold.

Sage Green Metallic yes, Shoreline Gold no. MIA's did come in Sage Green Metallic for a few years not so long ago.

Here, I'll even link to the Fender colour chart: http://www.fender.com/resources/colors/

I can definitely see the green tint, and it's lacking the redder tint that Shoreline Gold has.
actually yeh it has a green tint to it.
