  1. Hhhmmm, one of me best bits of kit was a bitsa amp set up of a Rocketman Head (a New Zealand own brand built in a garage) along with some home made 15" cabs, with real brown carpet outside and fiberglass insulation inside. Never knew how many watts the amp was, although it had six valves and was responsible for my tinnitus. Ahem. Had a large following back home and always had people asking after the set up and where could they get one. Also, the odd snob saying how much better it would be if it was an Ampeg. After all that I do have an Ampeg now, but do miss the sense of satisfaction of having a cobbled together thing that sounded great.
  2. Great pedal guys, they sound great. I just bought one off the eBay and they work a treat.
  3. Hey there Mr Basstastic, welcome aboard. Great basses. I have a hankering for a fretless and was thinking this was the way to go. I have a Jazz Geddy Lee which I love and really like the feel of the earlier Jazz models too. Light as well so good for long gigs! Enjoy the site
  4. It's a a Gotta-go-by-Easter-or-it's-eBay bump for £375.00
  5. Cab sold to mdc, a true gent. Redhead alone now only £400...
  6. Hi there, mdc, yup could be. Have had a couple of PM's for the amp by itself. Let me know what you are thinking of
  7. Price Drop bump... Now £450... Must get space in the house. Apparently children take priority.. Ridiculous I know.
  8. Originally a US amp, has been converted professionally to 240V and runs like a dream. Have gigged with this quite a few times and still amazes me how much volume can come from her. [s]Also have a relatively new addition of the Goliath Junior to compliment it as well.[/s] Pretty hefty amp so would be collection only, however I am less than 4 minutes from junction 5 on the M25. Will be sad to see her go, but need the space. Any questions, just let me know. Goliath Jnr now sold, so just the Redhead going now.
  9. Cheers Mark, you were right, it sounds great with the Ampeg too. Thanks again
  10. Aw, shucks guys many thanks. Looking forward to it.
  11. Hi all, Have been stalking the pages for a wee while now mainly in the classifieds but never posted. Kiwi born and bred but living in the UK since '97 via a short stint in the middle east and Italy. Found my choice of username taken by the admin and wasnt intelligent enough to think up another. Have been playing bass since I was 17, have the tinnitus to go with it, although sensibly have finally been using some earplugs. What wonders! Rock is still the first love, big fan of many genres though. Playing in a tight covers band down Kent way, great group of guys and they let me occasionally sing along. Am currently using a Fender Jazz Geddy Lee and am on the hunt for a nice fretless. Other gear have been a SWR fan for a long time, although am doing the inevitable slant towards Markbass and their lighter approach. Plus married to an Italian so should be supporting their battered economy. All the best and looking forward to the bass banter...
  12. Cheers K-Rad, will see if I can convince the wife. More bass playing Turners in Kent, what will they think of next!
  13. Hi Homer, great cab, any chance you would consider posting?
  14. Wheesh, that is a great deal. SparkyMark if you still have it by next week you will have a sale on your hands...
  15. Hi Westie, Great Amps, was at the Bass show in Olympia this weekend and at the TC stand they had a show promo of them for £700 brand new with free footswitch... Any movement on your price? Still a beauty, I would hang onto it if I were you!
  16. Actually just what I am looking for! Sadly Motherwell is just that bit too far for a South Easter like I... Any second thoughts on postage?
  17. Erm, so how much are you looking for for her for a fellow Kent man.
  18. Not to worry, best of luck.
  19. Whoo! Great piece of kit. Would you consider postage for "darn saarf" in Kent?
  20. AWESOME amp guys. I have the original older one but these are fantastic amps. Can't recommend it enough.
  21. Erm, yes it is a great amp, but you can buy it brand new for 1099. http://www.dv247.com/guitars/trace-elliot-715x-bass-guitar-amplifier-combo--94273 Maybe if still for sale you may want to reconsider, or hang onto it!
