  1. Keeping things simple here for some rocky, post punk tunes. Shout-out to @Berserker for sending me the Sansamp so quickly!

The FS-4 offers a great deal of flexibility and everything goes straight into the front of my ABM600.

Underside and all the grizzly bits not looking too bad either. Everything's securely in place with a bit of give. I don't like it too tight with too much pressure on jacks etc.

    Cheers!

Cheers mate, I think I'll head down to the practice room tomorrow and give the Barefaced 610 a blast. I'll let you know how I get on.

  3. I've been thinking about the Ashdown ABM 610 available in the classifieds since it's a good price and not too far from me. I've been using a Barefaced Supertwin with my ABM600 and I can't help but feel it's a bit harsh sounding with the amount of drive that I use (maybe it's my EQ?) I also have a Barefaced 610 that I'm yet to try but I feel that something like the Ashdown 610 may suit me better since they're apparently a bit darker sounding.

(Currently playing P bass with flats.)

  4. The full sized TC spark might be what I'm looking for. I don't want to colour my ABM EQ too much but I do want some always-on grit. Can't go wrong at £49 new as well; bit cheaper than a new Sansamp!

  5. Try a green russian of some sort, there's loads out there. A totally different flavour despite the bass big muff being based on it.

This was the cheapest I could find at a glance (no affiliation) and they sound huge. IMO much bigger and thicker than the bass big muff.

I've spoken to Dave a couple of times and he's been amazing. On one occasion it was because he just sent me an email by mistake and I called him to let him know and we ended up chatting for an hour!

I may have mentioned that when the ABM 5 comes out with silent fans I'll have one straight away [/stuck record]

Did he say anything about the Evo V? I've been thinking about emailing them about that.

I actually considered an estate , simply  so I could buy an 810 😂

    Same.

I inherited a golf mk4. While it's not the biggest car around it does have ample room inside. Barefaced supertwin, abm600 and pedalboard bag fit easily into the boot, bass on the backseat.

Although it's 18 years old it's only got 50k on it. As long as the bodywork holds up (no rust yet) I can see myself driving this for the next 10 years.

I wonder if that's my old BB, I had Owen put in a silent bypass gadget. Could the thing next to the footswitch in the pic! Don't think I ever opened it up again so I wouldn't know for sure. Is yours nice and quiet when clicking on and off? Because they thump horridly when stock...

Yeah, I've just been back through my inbox in an attempt to find the listing. It is indeed your pedal and it is silent, yes.

I had an older wren and cuff phat phuk (not the one in the above picture) which thumped horribly as well. I couldn't stand it but they sound great. My current one (which I think it's the newer and more vibrant pink version) doesn't do that.

I was gobsmacked by how good the Xotic BB pre sim sounded on my B1-4. However, it really loses definition with the low notes on my 5 string. I'm guessing that's 'cos it's a cheap and cheerful multifx and that you don't find anything similar happening with the real thing?

I've only used a five string (which I borrowed) once with it but it sounded fine. Again, I used the five string for about 10 minutes so not really long enough to make any real impression. For what it's worth it doesn't give up the ghost when used with an octave, it just gets bigger.

Mine has an 'Owen Electronic' sticker on the inside so I must get round to messaging them to see if they worked any sonic wizardry. Maybe somebody just put that sticker inside but it really does sound fantastic 😉

Three overdrives on one board?? Are you a guitar player?? 😆 Genuine question though, what's the difference between each one?

Phat phuk B for a bit of always-on colour. Very light drive just for a bit of grit.

BB Pre (in my opinion) is probably one of th

most versatile drives out there, so this covers overdrive and distortion sounds.

The super russian is a huge fuzz so that's a bit different.

Valve drive from the ABM600 is good on its own but doubles as a booster if a different drive pedal is already on.

I am going to change things up a bit today or tomorrow.

Essentially: more drive = more good
