It is common sense Phil,

Common sense. I play with one band where the BL just bungs the leads into a bag and I'm glad it's not me who has to extract them.
I did not realise that out BL had another band!

I think he joined the band because all my cables have cable ties
When I make cables, for me or someone else, I always fit a cable tie. It drives me mad winding a cable and finding nowt to keep it coiled.

Did not break out of the prototype phase for now, but learned a lot. For example, I need to be much better with the drill so the boards can actually align.
Need to move some stuff around, add 0.5-1mm here and there... getting there slow 😅
Having a lot of hope for the socketed testing board to try some more stuff!
Use a centre punch to stop the drill wandering.

Another day, another Legion. Used my analogue mixer for this one as the Singer likes to be able to turn himself up as we get louder later on.
Quicy set up the levels on both mains and monitors. All good until, he twiddled and we got feedback. Then he commuted the cardinal sin of cupping the sphere on his SM58. Deep joy, more feedback. The analogue desk goes back in its box next week and the singer will join it if he does not behave.

I have a few odds lights and one of those generic DMX controllers. I have set up a number of chases and scenes but will admit that the DMX learning curve was steep. Coming from an audio background, the fact that the “faders” were not light intensity/volume but rather DMX values.
Add the fact that each brand, and even models within a brand have a different DMX protocol and we are back to my favourite pastime, balloon squeezing. That is where a small change causes unexpected changes elsewhere.
One model of mini par had a very good manual except that the DMX protocol had changes mid and nobody had told marketing when they proof read the manual.
I saw @Phil Starr‘s lights a few weeks ago at a mini festival we both played and while it was not really dark, they did seem to pack a punch visually.

Had the third of 5 Saturdays in a row for us. Another British Legion ( put your preconceived ideas away). Long narrow room next to a lounge bar that was pumping out Sabbath and Ozzy tracks in a belated tribute.
As usual setup was tight and so I had no time to take photos and the better half will not put down her drink to take photos in case it is spiked
Again the reduction to a four piece means.we are are much tighter and really enjoying ourselves It is holiday time so the crowd was a little sparse but they seemed to enjoy themselves.-

I saw the video some time ago and it did concern the bigger x32 variants. However from what I remember, the ADCs were different.

I've just replaced an old Behringer X18 with a new Midas MR18. I'm using the same mixing station app with my custom template.
Putting all the PA gear in one rack has saved around 15 mins on set up and strip down times. Having it hard wired really has taken the pressure off me as I'm the only one who knows how to set it up properly.
Dave Rat checked the X32 and the Midas version and found the Midas version to have quieter pre-amps and A-Ds. Have you noticed any difference?

Behringer has good designs, if not original, so for the most part they work well. But they keep the cost down by using cheap hardware.
Most of Music Tribe’s designs are original, or as original as electronic circuits can be. Electronic components are like bricks and you can build houses and circuits in a number of ways but few are truly original. Some, like Dolby have somehow ma aged to claim and receive IP rights on their circuits but they are the most prominent in a small group.

I was watching a YT review of a Bass Fly Rig and the reviewer said he could not do without chorus.
I lovr the sound of chorus but how well does it work live, and on what type of song?

Sorry, no pics as I was still setting up until three (as in the three in 1,2,3,4). The Rebbels had a very good gig at my local Legion, in front of all my friends. People that have seen us many times said we had the sound we ever have, although we had to run without on stage monitoring, due to feedback problems. Legion in the next Village next Saturday.

Does your singer provide the mic and the wedges?
We supply our own mics and the monitors are mine. The singer has an SM58, I use a Sontronics Solo and the guitarist has a Behringer XM8500.
My mic is a super-cardioid and the others are cardioids. The Singer and I have good mic technique, but I keep trying to get the guitarist to sing closer to the mic.

Further to the comments, I remember a gig where the stage was so small for us as a 5 piece that we had to place the monitors at the side. I seem to remember a very nice monitor sound.
The monitors I use have a 60x60 dispersion on the horns, so I should have realised that we were firing at our feet. Make some new wedges to angle them at our ears next week.
One other thing was, actually two other things, the thumb screw from one of the 12" tops was missing, and the other would not tighten, the thread had stripped. I could contact the seller, but he would deny all responsibility. They had been loaned to the guitarist for a recent gig of his occasional band, but I had not checked them before lending them out. I had a spare M8 machine screw and ran it through the insert in the cabinet. It went in easily at first, but just before getting to the end of the insert is stiffened. Using the correct sized spanner, I gently tried to use the screw to clear the thread. It did finally go through, and so I was happy to search for new Thumb Screws. Despite searching for local suppliers, only Mr Bezos Emporium had the right size and they will be arriving tomorrow.

Ah ok. In my experience it's been the guitarist who wants to stick with backline and "real amps" which, tbf, I can completely understand. Whereas singers, in my experience, generally jump at using IEMs as they can hear themselves really well and only have acoustic drums on stage blaring out. Particularly helped if the desk has really decent preamps which our CQ kit does (a noticeable step up from my previous Soundcraft MTK12).
The combination of having a personalised mix at the volume we each want (potentially also giving much less damage to our hearing?), decent IEM earpieces, and quality desk preamps has made the gigging experience a much more enjoyable one for me, and I'm blessed that my current crew (7 of us, in total, on rotation) are all totally on board and very happy with IEMs.
I guess I could probably say I'm a convert, haha, having switched to IEMs for the last couple of years whilst previously regularly gigging with amps and monitors for a much longer while before that.
I would be there in a shot if I could, who said the dinosaurs are extinct?

I guess one huge advantage of IEMs is removing a major source of potential feedback from the stage sound?
Our singer will not use IEMs.

We did not mic the drums although we did have the drum mics there.
With the monitors, it was the onset of feedback. I believe, but I am happy to be corrected that the monitors were at the wrong angle. They are passive and cuboid in shape, and were on a typical bookshelf monitor so really pointing at out legs. This is where I will start next week. Either add to my collection of one 8” active speaker, or make some new monitor stands angled at around 45 degrees.

Tonight I am in total control of the PA so to add to the usual gig nerves I have that to contend with! Add the tantrums of a muddled aged child (singer)..,
However I have worked through things many time at home and I should be OK😀
Well FOH got good comments and as the Singist was in a chatty mood, all was good BUT I could not get the stage monitors to a usable level. We could hear the FoH quite well on stage and that make me wonder whether that was adding to the problems. We go again next Sat with a few changes that might help. 😀

Like @Phil Starr, I am the happy owner of an LFSys MONZA. In the early stages of development I tried what is now called the Goodwood.
I am sure that will do what you need very well. Contact @stevie, either on here or via LFSys.co.uk. He’ll surely give you good advice.
