1. A great little bass this. Wonderful vintage tone. I'm sure there are some tonal differences compared with the 2k German made models, but you'd need to be pretty clued up on their sound to actually spot them. In any case improbable to make out in the mix of a band: this is in short a fabulous gigging bass for the violin bass lover or anyone curious to have such an iconic shape in their arsenal. The reviews for the Ignition basses are great, so have a read for yourself. I've only had this for a very short time and I'm actually letting it go to stick to my acoustic things at present. Since buying it, I've taken the perloid white scratchplate off, but it is of course enclosed in the sale. Also, I have fitted a brand new set of Rotosound Tru bass 88 short scale, like Paul McCartney Abbey Road/Let it be era. The D'Addario flats it came with are also enclosed. Finally I've bought an original Hofner gig bag, because otherwise finding a suitable gig bag for this basses is a real pain. All in all, absolute bargain at £180 and here's the spiel from Hofner: Taking a lead from our 70s Violin Bass models the Ignition Violin Bass guitars from Hofner let you get your hands on one of the world's iconic guitars. In contrast to the HCT model this version has a fully hollow body and of course comes with the famous Hofner control panel, wooden bridge and Hofner style tailpiece. Hofner's comprehensive range of guitars draws on the firms long-standing success making precision string instruments for musicians. The Beatles' Sir Paul McCartney played a Hofner Violin Bass, and the company's superb attention to detail and stylish design has continued to inspire both rock and jazz musicians to this day. Despite the numerous changes over 125 years the company is still strongly a family firm with strong values for customers, and for high quality, musical instruments. 3. Where are you sir? I can't see it from my phone sorry.
4. It really is an awesome cab...
5. This is now sold pending payment.
6. Bump for this one again, yes I do realise it's a bass player's forum so I'm not expecting hellish much....but, it's now £370!!! If it doesn't sell at this, I'm keeping it myself...
7. Bump for a spectacularly price practically new awesome cabinet.
8. Pay day is coming... I'm not against holding it for a week or so with a deposit. I'd much rather that than eBay...
9.
What could possibly go wrong?
Indeed a very positive outcome for all parties involved...
10. The hard case would fit plenty clothes and another large cardboard box would be available for shoes and handbags....
11. This is basically new and it represents a huge bargain. I have tried to convince myself I need to keep this wee guy as it's so wonderful but the truth is that I don't use it and I am desperately trying to make up money for a project I always wanted to do, so it needs to go! If you don't know about these wee cabs, have a look on the net: wonderful reproduction of the double bass sound in all its fidelity, diminutive package and yet as loud as a 10inch. This is all you should need for jazz, folk, acoustic pop gigs, you know the kind. The price is a total bargain.
12. Yup, first step of recovery is the admission of having a problem: I buy gear I don't need!! Ok, I said it, now time to fix it. I need to sell this wonderful bass, which I only bought last week from here. The bass is as perfect as advertised and it comes with an equally wonderful hard case and great D'Addario flat wounds, but: 1) There is something I really NEED to spend money on (not a bass!) 2) I don't really get on well with long scale bass guitars at all, despite the fact I'm a DB player. 3) it sounds amazing, but just not like I like to sound in my head. So I put it back on here sure that the descerning bass player will buy as it is indeed a bargain. Same price I got it for last week, postage is free in the UK. This is the original link. Do please check it out as it give lots of info about how good the bass actually is. 13. If you drive to Scotland with it I'll take it....
14. In that case they are light actually
15. Feels like medium to me but they came with the bass do I don't have the packet
16. Firstly apologies if there already is an existing thread for Rich's feedback; I couldn't find it. Anyway, I bought a 50s RW PBass from Rich and he was the absolute perfect seller. I cannot believe what a good instrument it is an I am very happy indeed. Red Mozzy provides great communication, super fast delivery, courier-proof packaging! Deal with confidence here folks!
