  1. NO LONGER AVAILABLE- TRADED! In the past couple of weeks I've been experimenting with slab basses which as a DB player is mostly going to end in baldness, which indeed it did for me. I've now realised I shall stick to the upright, or the Hofner or at a push the UBasses. The slabs just don't like me. So, nothing wrong with this bass which the eagle-eyed amongst you will notice I only bought last week from this very forum. It has indeed been around a couple of this forums' esteemed members, and that is a good thing. It is based on the 1975 Fender Jazz I so like the look of, yet it does not like the look of me. The body is a 1970s Greco from Japan The neck is a Japanese all parts lacquered to look vintage which actually plays very very nicely. The pickups are Lindy Fralin (5% overwound for warmth) 90s Mexican Fender tuners And here's the stuff which is alien to me: 3 CTS pots (250k) hand selected to suit the pickups NOS Russian military spec. capacitor PIO 0.047uF Neutrik stereo jack output wired in Mono doubling. (Don't ask me about this stuff, I just copied it from the original listing here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/307033-75-bitsa-jazz-bass-fsft/page__fromsearch__1) And here's for the tasty bit. As you will see from the original listing, the bass was £500 a couple of months ago and was listed for £475 last week. I didn't pay that much, so I am not being greedy and I am passing on the saving. At £390 shipped, This is priced to sell. Trades I hear you ask.... I could do with a nice 12inch cab, one that you can post to me, or come to my house with, I'm in Perth, Scotland. Other than that, it's cold hard money I'm after. Here are some new photos I took this morning.
  2. Ok so fair say that blue makes everyone happy! I know what you mean about trying to resist. I keep away from the double bass thread as I was spending too much money only to come on this and I bought 2 basses this week! Help!!
  3. Bump for a blue bass which sounds loverly and you can take to pub gigs without worry of dings, dents or criminal activity. Also, blue makes people happy (with some notable exceptions above)...
  4. Price down to £180, in line with previous listings of very similar basses. Not gonna take offers of any less than this though, unless I can charge postage on top...
  5. Give it a lick of paint, you'll be grand...
  6. Price down to £180. Here is a very nice bass for very little money. Mint condition, never been gigged. It looks great (in my opinion). It plays great (fact! - the neck is brilliant, the action is cool and the strings are a good set of flatwound which are about 6 months old, and according to James Jemerson should last you at least another 75 years). It sound great (really great for a £350 bass, although don't expect Fender custom shop at less than 1/10th of the price). If I had the call for it, I wouldn't hesitate to take it along as a very giggable bass. The kind of thing that will get you working with minimal damage to the bank. For £180, I'll even post it, in its own box, and with its own new bass centre gigbag...neat. Thanks guys. Take care.
  7. PM'd you. I'll take it if still here.
  8. Absolutely great transaction completed with biggyp. Great seller, excellent communication and altogether a very positive experience. Thank you very much!
  9. This beautiful thing was all beautifully boxed up for shipment but sale fell through, its now sitting all ready to go in my way! So let's call it £335 and that IS a bargain.
  10. Bump for £350. I don't think I'll go any lower.
  11. As new; very very lightly used indeed! Fretless, solid mahogany version. Hard foam case included. Shadow electronics pickup and onboard preamp. Mounts a brand new pair of Aquila Thundergut strings, but the original black strings are in the case too. I think I also have spare pickup batteries somewhere... RRP £529 - my price £335 including UK postage.
  12. Now on eBay folks, you'll get pics on there.
  13. Obviously it's Fishman, not Fushman as stated above....
  14. Hi all, After a long absence I resurface on this forum only to sell my last bit of double bass gear... An old style Fushman Platinum Pro-EQ, the not-so-secret weapon of the touring bassist. It's the previous double bass specific black model, not the newest silver model which I believe is more for any acoustic instrument. Anyway, great condition, comes with original box, all perfectly working. Kept me sounding like a double bass and free from feedback on settings ranging from small folk club to outdoor summer festivals, through to theatres and some venues who would have been better used as lavatories... Always dos a great job, which is annoying because I couldn't blame the tools for my dodgy intonation....
  15. Any lurve for the vintage Ampeg tone on a budget?
