This is going to missed. It’s had a few Basschat owners and I’ve had it about 18 months. It’s an absolute peach but an incoming bass means this has to go. I’ve sanded the neck up to #2000 grit and treated with Montypresso so it’s like glass, it’s slippery. The body is Mahogany and Poplar, the fingerboard is Panga Panga. Cursive/italics is a cut and paste from previous ads. This is a really special bass, so versatile. Definitely not just a metal bass, it can do it all. Neck is lovely to play, body is nice and comfortable and it balances great on a strap. Condition is excellent. A couple of headstock dints. This one has the Twilight finish with some lovely grain poplar burl. Stock Ibanez preamp and its seriously average Chinese licensed Bartolini BH2 pickups were removed and replaced with US Classic Bass Soapbars and a 3 band Bartolini HR-5.2AP/918 preamp. Configuration has changed from stock to make this the ultimate tone machine and works as follows:- Volume - Push Pull Active/Passive Blend Treble Mids - Push Pull Frequency Selector Bass Toggle Switch 1 - Series/Coil Tap/Parallel Bridge Pickup Toggle Switch 2 - Series/Coil Tap/Parallel Neck Pickup If you've played a stock SRMS805 before, this one will play the same but tonally it really is an entirely different animal. Its fantastic and the array of different tones you can get from all the different coil arrangements is wonderful. It’s about 3.8kg I’ve got proper packaging so if you’d like it posted I can do that for whatever the cost is. I’m in Gloucester if you want to try it through a Mesa or GK amp with BF cab or bring your own. I urge anyone even remotely interested to try one of these.

Just bought a little FX unit from Steve. Cracking chap to deal with as we all know.

Surplus to requirements, this brilliant little amp is looking for a new home. It’s been gigged once for about half an hour through a BF TWO10. It’s had some very recent home use but other than that it’s been in a gig bag the whole time I’ve had it. This used to come to gigs with me in the car as emergency backup for the big valve monsters in case they went pop. As most of you know, this is as serious gigging amp that can drive a 410 at volumes way higher than most of use. For 2x10 gigs at pubs and PA venues, it’s more than adequate and it sounds great. That one time I used it at that gig where my 400+ went down, the rest of the band said they preferred the sound of the Nano 300. It’s still got the box. It comes with a power lead too. There’s a few scratches on the bottom that it must’ve picked up from other things in the bag but it’s just cosmetic. I think it’s a good price for a private sale versus what’s out there through the trade. No trades, thanks. Postage will probably be about £5. If you want to come and try it, I’m in Gloucester. The MB website says: The NANO MARK 300 once again raises the bar for bass amp heads. Our smallest amp is not a toy—it gives you the Markbass tone in the most portable package possible easy to transport everywhere, featuringsimple and effective controls and yet it gives you all thevolume you need for most gigs. It's a professional-grade amplifier you need to hear to believe such powerful sound can be delivered by such a small and lightweight package! In fact, our lightest and smallest head only weights 3.20 lbs / 1.45 kgand has an unbelievable power-to-weight ratio, with its 300W of power in a very small and ultra-lightweight package. Many competitors was inspired by Markbass amps manufacturing small amps too but in our case small doesn't mean "poor performance", on the contrary with the Nano Mark 300 not only you can take this ultra-little ampeverywhere, but you don’t have to sacrifice the warm and rich Markbass tone!Markbass products are known for their clarity and loyalty to the source of sound. People often use words like warm, punchy, clear, honest, accurate- even aggressive to describe Markbass. They also say that Markbass amps allow them to sound like themselves!

I refer back to my original response. They're also relatively easy to re-sell.

Seriously, I would ask, what are you looking for in a bass? Once you understand what kind of bass you're looking for, you can then start looking at manufacturers. 4 strings, 34" is a very wide scope.

Spector Euro Series instruments are made in Czech Republic to very high standards. Such high standards, in fact, that Spector describe them as "production versions" of the custom shop basses. US brand, Euro manufacture. There's more than a few members here that will stand by the quality of Euro Spectors.

A used Spector Euro 4 LX. Thank you very much for your message. We have now closed your ticket after resolving the issue beyond reproach. Next!

There's a lot of Spector activity going on behind the curtain right now (not necessarily my curtain or the one in Warwickshire). All will be revealed soon, I'm sure. Anyway, I think I need to press the emergency Spector button > @cetera to get some advice. I saw this https://rurumusic.ocnk.net/product/1435 Read the description. 3kg? It's got paulownia backs on the wings, roasted maple neck and board. 4A maple on the front of the wings. Are we thinking that a strap is going to stop this neck-diving? Surely this is engineered to hit the deck? Is roasted maple that much lighter than "raw" maple that it balances with Empresswood (Paulownlia)? I had a custom G&L L2500 with lots of Empresswood in the body once. Very light, a bit divey.

For those you ancient enough to remember, I wonder what wisdom BigBeefChief would offer if he read this thread?

So, whoever that was, was calling Tom Petersson, Billy and Geddy idiots too.

I think a lot of the people subscribing to this have been incredibly patient and forgiving of something that is just not reliable and never going to deliver. The lack of comms is what gets to me. It's a nice gesture but if it were me, I'd have kicked it into touch a while back.

Who did you sell it to? I reckon there’s probably a dangerous fault with it and we should do a product recall...

When it comes to charity events I've always taken a hard line with venues expecting bands to play for free (in reality, at a loss). I've asked the venue whether the bar staff are working unpaid shifts and if the venue is making a loss on the event. Then I explain that if the band takes that booking, which will be at a loss to each member, it also fills the calendar for a potential paid booking. The unpaid gigs were always the ones that divided opinion in bands and sometimes led to bitchy squabbles. Some of the bigger charity events I've played in the past like British Heart Foundation and CF Trust pay really well as they value having a quality act to give the paying punters professional level value for money.

Not because of chops or technique but just the Bill Wymanness of it, Beast of Burden. Ended up watching Darryl Jones doing it live and copied what he does. Actually it's really tough to emulate Bill Wyman's playing, it's just really odd, I find. Note choices, note placement, attack, it's all very unnatural to me. It's years since I played a Stones song but I suppose the approach I'd do next time is either copy Darryl or compose a DIY version and graft on the bits that stand out in the mix.

Gorgeous. Maple. That one fits the brief of the CST.

I had a black cherry 5 that I bought from a Basschatter in about '08. This one looks nicer.

That's pretty much what I used.

I was over the Moon with my last order until "the wise one with the all-seeing eye" said, "another company trying to ingratiate themselves with their customers by sending out "free" landfill. You are the last person that needs another sticker or a ballpoint pen." I will be putting comments on any future orders to politely decline free pens and stickers however because US and Euro Spectors are made of ethical wood, I'll be accepting those as alternatives.

She's a peach and will have had the pickups rebuilt/rewound by then. Not that there's anything wrong with them as they stand, they just need a glow-up and a sort out to bring them on par with everything else about this absolute gem of a bass that I foolishly sold about 4 years ago.

Thanks. It reminds me. In addition to my list already submitted, I'll be bringing my very recently repatriated BB1300. Rocking horse hen's manure tooth back home.
