Maybe the trussrod is simply not working anymore or it snapped at some point.
You can contact Warwick directly by sending an e-mail to which will most likely be replied to by Hans Peter Wilfer himself.
Good luck wich your bass!

Today I fixed what Fender should have... No more funny noises when I simply touch the pickguard.
-
Shemale basses... that would be disturbing.
-
-
Fender relocated the bridge pu in the seventies because it was sticking out of the bridge pickup cover. Purely cosmetic.
The fact it sounds cool for slapping was pure luck on their side.

I use these:

I do not care. Call your bass whatever you will. Is that crazy? Maybe. Who gives.

That would lead me straight to the Precipice.

Time for a little update... I got back two of my old favorites over the past months; a ric 4003 and mm sig fender jazz.
For some stuff the growly goodness of my Dolphins is just too much and for oldskool rock tone nothing beats a ric.
I am almost complete now, with a custom built fretless Jazz is on its way that has Dolphin pickup configuration.
The jazz will consist of a swamp ash body with maple neck and ebony fingerboard. Pickups are J+TJ by Delano.
More on this project coming soon.

Those look like 4 string guitars, not basses imho.

I owned a Thumb nt4, streamer stage 1 and still own two dolphin pro 1 models by Warwick. To me the opposite is true. Especially the Thumb seems to have this natural compression going on and its tone is the same across the entire neck. It is a VERY forgiving bass compared to my old passive Jazz. I found playing some harder stuff much easier to do on these active monsters. On passive basses I MUST have a compressor or it will sound pish.

Corvettes can do a pretty decent job at the Zender tone tbh. I think you will love it.
A Stage 1 however has a bit of a rumbling growl that makes it sit in the mix quite differently then other Warwicks.
Zender's bass was a Stage2 with Stage 1 woods if I remember correctly.
Check out this Corvette clip while waiting for it to arrive...

Great tone! (until she picks up the jazz bass that is). -
I've seen this bass before. It is beautiful Don.
If only it were a 5 string eh? -
Because a lot of bands and their egos simply suck and because they are sick of playing 12 bar blues crap all evening at the local jamsessions where guitarplayers keep playing never ending solos on the same theme all night every week.

Nice thread and welcome to the 2010's. I already knew and admire 5 out of these 10 great players, MarloweDK probably being the most wel known contributing bassist of this time. The internet and youtube in particular has become my number one resource for learning new techniques and songs.
I think it is totally brilliant we can watch and learn from guys like this, MarloweDK (who's real name is Thomas Risell by the way) has a clear way of explaining new techniques that can be understood by both new and experienced players. His website playbassnow.com is one of the greatest resources available for any learning bassist and highly recommended.
Another great bassist sharing knowledge is a person you can also find on this forum. His name is Scott Devine and he runs scottsbasslessons.com. Also highly recommended!
One more note: Chris Squire cannot be copied. He is a virtuoso. You can play the same licks but it will never sound the same. Miguel comes close I do agree but no, he's not there yet.

Bump
Edit: Sorry for bumping within the allowed time period. Thanks for making me aware of this Mick! -
Best in what exactly?
Tone?
Durability?
Weight?
Specs?
Amount of roadies killed by?
What a rubbish thread. -
Doug Pinnick is 62 and still one of the coolest bassists on the planet imho. Don't worry lads age is not the issue. Behaviour is so get out there and behave like a little kid with a really big toy (talking about your bass here).

A real problem I'm facing is most of my musician buddies started having lives beside the music (wifes, kids, homes, jobs to tend to) and it gets harder to get together. Where I used to ring up my buds saying "let's jam tonight" nowadays its "can we jam in three weeks time?" I am currently 44 years old.
I miss kinda the pontaneousness of it all, everything has to be "organized" these days... -
January 2013 incarnation of my board. Need to run the wires underneath, will do so once I am happy with the layout for sure.

Right. I decided I am holding on to this bass for sentimental reasons only but I never play it anymore these days so... it is time to find a better master for this great instrument.
FYI I only don't play this bass because I have a five string Dolphin Pro 1 as well har har har.
Since it is a 24 year old instrument it has its little marks from being used but is in remarkably good condition. There's a few marks just above the pickups from where previous owners rested their thumb and near the lower horn there's some bumps as can be seen in the pictures. The electronics cover has a little bump, which is in the photos as well.
Asking price is 1400 euros including flightcase and a new set of DR Low-Riders 0.45 gauge strings.
Will ship to anywhere in the world IF shipping with insurance is possible. Costs (and possibly taxes if you're not within the EU mainland) being payed for by the buyer.
I am by the way located in the Netherlands, shipping to the UK costs 40 euros and 80 cents.
As pictures say more then a thousand words here goes:
And here's a little clip I recorded with it for the Warwick forum "Can you do it?" thread:
I am not really interested in trade offers.
Cheers, Marco -
Hold on I'll throw in my '89 Warwick Dolphin to make life easier on the lot of you and forget all the crappy JV's.

remember dudes, it may be our place to find out history and stuff that has happened to this so its clear for a potential buyer to see but its not our place to take the piss or say his price is too high. things like that should be done over PM so he doesnt get a public flogging. is this not the usual procedure?
If all is within reason, yes. If the seller is clearly trying to do some gold diggin' by all means speak up people.
Besides that floods of PM's will be more annoying then some criticism in a thread tbh.
Also this way the bass gets free bumpage all the time! So in a way we're doing a good deed.
If anybody wants to buy this special bass at asking price please do so.
a Jazz Bass is a "forgiving" bass

Each bass has its own pros and cons. I currently love to play my MIJ Fender MM signature, punchy and has a really great neck. Does sound a bit scooped but that's what I bought it for. The Dolphins are my midrange growling monsters which sound very modern, direct and dry. For raunchy dirty gritty picked rock&roll I grab the Ric 4003 (although the Ric has a great neck for slapping too).
A man can't have just one bass and expect it to do it all equally good.
