  1. I purchased a Fodera NYC Empire 5 Deluxe from Artur.

Because I had to wait for my cash to become available, I asked him if he would hold on to the bass for me for two weeks and promised to pay the asking price which was very fair.
This was no problem. Cool! So two weeks later I made the payment and the bass was packed and sent to my address on the same day he got the money.

It took some time for the bass to arrive but this was due solely to the postal services in Europe being slower during this Corona crisis that's going on.
Nice to notice the delay was worrying us both. Artur is a very kind spirit and a very good bassist.
Yesterday the bass finally arrived, very well packed and in the exact shape as described in the ad.

I would highly recommend dealing with @kudlaty.bass any time.

  2. I just bought a Fodera bass, Darkglass alpha-omicron dirtbox and a simplifier pre with built in omnicabsim.
Now owning 8 basses 5 amps 2 2x12 cabs 1 8x8 cab and a drawer full of effects pedals.

Oh and 4 guitars and a tube guitar combo, a drumkit, 2 keyboards and a 1000w 1x15+2x10 PA.

    NO MORE GAS.

Or I will need a bigger house.

  3. Bought through this very forum. Getting it here from Poland took its sweet time with Covid delays but here it is!
My guitarist has already labeled it "Big Red".

I threw a new pack of DR Low-Riders on and yet have to take it for a good testrun. Hooked it up to my Elf briefly this afternoon to see if it works, but alas had to work all day.

Yay! You might notice I have a weak spot for anything Jazz Bass model. The red will fit in fine!

  4. No longer for sale, decided to keep it.

Selling my Transit-B as it will become obsolete once my two Trace Elliot amplifiers return from repairs.
Poweradapter has a NL plug attached but the unit runs at regular 9v power.
There's velcro at the bottom side to fix it onto your pedalboard. Unit is good as new.

Will ship anywhere, please inquire for shipping costs.

  5. Eich amps, Warwick LWA, Bergantino, Aguilar... They all sound too polite and neat. Total lack of any heft.
I am having my old tube and hybrid Trace Elliots repaired. No more modern amps for me.

Maybe you should check out a nice Ashdown ABM.

  6. I own a Boss MS-3 effect looper which is sounding pretty nice, but its dirt effects seem to distort properly on the lowest tones and sound nearly clean when I play higher pitched stuff. Its dirt tones also get completely lost in the mix while my regular dirtboxes do not suffer this problem. I have no clue why this is happening, only that I do not like it very much.

I will be putting the Boss unit up for sale I think rather then spending time trying to make it work. I simply prefer pedals. What you see is what you get.

  7. So when the next wage is in I'm calling a nearby tech who also builds his own brand amp and is well known amongst musicians here. He owns a Hexa Valve himself so I guess he is okay to repair mine (it keeps blowing out its main fuse so I expect the 6550's having to be replaced and it sometimes goes silent slowly after a while) and he can also repair this RAH600SMX.

An update: When I route the fxloop1 send to another amp I have sound. In fxloop 2 the send does nothing even when I max out its volume dials on both the front and back of the amp. The Graphic EQ, pre-shapes and gain control are all in working order, but the potmeters will need cleaning as they all crackle while turning them. The dualband compressor does nothing on Effects loop 1 but maybe it is not supposed to.

Next up is testing the three D.I. outputs.

  8. More and more amp manufacturers are including a hpf in their products. Keep this in mind when you're on the market for a new amp.
The Ashdown ABM, Mesa class D amps and some others. Thumpinator is a nice tool for the job but an MXR 10 band EQ does the same and more. It's lowest bands are at 31.25 and 62.5Hz, you get the other 8 bands as a free bonus so you can sculpt your tone however you want.

  9. I am not sure, but also no expert. What I do know is there's two separate poweramps in there each handling a max. 4ohm load and both are dead. Logic dictates it is unlikely both the poweramps died at the same time and I figure they might not be getting any power anymore. They really are dead silent even at max volume.

Guess I will have an expert look at it along with the Hexa Valve that keeps blowing out its main fuse when using it - that one will most probably need a matched set of six 6550's. I am afraid it's gonna cost me, but these amps are worth it.

  10. Hi, my big bad dual poweramp TE doesn't make any sound anymore.
I replaced all the fuses in the back to make sure that's not it.

Input leds flash on gain, compressor and EQ have their inpact on the gain leds too so the preamp is alright.
The speaker outputs however are completely silent (not even a slight hiss) it is as if the powersection has switched off.
Both of the two poweramps have gone silent, I am thinking it might be the power transformer has died or something?

The moment it died was when I switched it off. There was a very loud high frequency tone going 'pew' and after that it never made any sound again.

Is there anything I can check myself before driving it to a tech?

  11. Using the Le Bass a lot, also have the Trace Elliot Transit-B since that has a five band EQ and great compressor.
This one is arriving next week:

The cabinet emulation is analog, and the parallel fx loop has a low pass filter on it so you can for instance throw a compressor on your bottom end and a distortion or chorus on the preamp fxloop. When you dial some lows out of the latter you will get that bi-amp rig sound. The EQ is based on Ampeg amps.
