  1. That's what happens with the compressor in my Orange 4Stroke amps. It's supposed to do that on the amp head. It could be just the way Orange build their compressors.

Email Orange and ask them, they have alway been very helpful.

Was watching a review of the BB734A last night by Johnny Dimble:

Gotta say while I love mine I definitely agree on the preamp, I’ve used passive mode exclusively as it sounds better to my ears.

I was actually contemplating switching it out for something different like the Lusithand but it’d be a hassle trying to fill in the empty holes. Is the neck pocket identical on the 434 and 734a?

I watched this video as well and thought... I want another 734a. That pre amp sounds excellent, different to the BBPH. More vicious.

Yowzer, that would drive me nuts 🤣.

SKB shallow case? Does it all fit ok and does it leave space in the rear to store the power and speaker cables?

    Cool looking bass.

    What’s people’s opinion of the BB734A bass ?

Better than a Fender MIM PBass ?

How is the preamp and build quality?

Excellent bass, I gigged mine for years and recorded our last album with it.  Great quality, pickups and preamp sounded awesome. I only sold it fund a BBPH which is also great but doesn't have the same snarl... only bass I've previously owed that I'd buy again without a concern.

I had a car for 2 months recently. My insurance alone was over £50 a month. The VED - £15 a month. MoTs are close on £50 a year now.

An oil and filter change, even if you do it yourself is going to be close on £200 a year.

Then you are losing money on depreciation that you need to put away into savings ready to buy your next car.

I really don't think people realise how much they're spending on their cars. It's one of those slow drip things.

HMRCC allow 45p a mile for a reason.

Oil change £200... What were you driving, a V12?

  6. Used in anger last night for an audition with a new Post Punk/Dark Wave project. Wow... it sounded awesome!

Yamaha BBPH through EBS BS Deluxe and a Boss CE5. Perfect, the band thought it sounded brilliant and I was offered the spot. Very happy with myself.

  7. Finally bought one after many years thinking about it. Sounds great, I definitely prefer it to the Legacy 800 that I owned for a few month before punting it on. New strings on the Streamer and neighbours away on holiday... my fillings are now loose.

The last gig I went to was Rhombus, Black Riders Cult, and Dhampyres in Leeds on Saturday. I know, goth bands most people won't have the vaguest idea about but worth a listen if you like your music on the darker side as I do, and it's good to give a shout out to smaller bands.

Cool, I haven't heard of Dhampyres. I'll check them out.

I’m more than happy with my current amp and cab. I’ve owned the Big Twin 2 pretty much since they were launched, and not once have I considered changing it. The GK Fusion is a fairly new addition. It’s a wonderful combination. Last couple of gigs I’ve done, I haven’t even engaged any pedals. Only thing I still want to add is a Spector Euro 4LX.

That photo has done my bank account no favours whatsoever... I still want a Fusion 550.

  10. Boss CE5 Chorus Ensemble has stayed on my board for many years.  It sounds great with a drive pedal.

My favourite is the original Clone Theory but it's noisy and the foot switch cracks loudly when in use . So that's now tucked away. If any one can recommend a good replica/copy it would be appreciated.
