  1. I've got a V4BH & USED to own a SVT410HLF so PM(message) me if U want any more info..... The V4BH IS 100w BUT the 100w is probly as loud as yr 300w Mag. into the right cab anyway. Good amp-not too heavy , loud enough for MOST gigs-has a line out anyway.. BUT IMHO DON'T get the SVT410HLF!!! if U live on 2nd floor! It's a HEavy MF!!! It's heavier than my Bergantino NV610-which has 2 more 10"s, is 12lb (abouts) lighter, is EZ'er to move, thinner(410HLF is THICK-19") & EZ'er to pack & SOUNDS HEAPS better IMHO. If U can get the Sadowsky SA410 cab. it's been discontinued but U can still find a few about, or look at a Bergantino cab. They're KILLER cabs & are FAR easier to move than the HLF. The SVT410HLF was a great cab-don't get me wrong- BUT just SO bulky & heavy-IT injured me a few times in the 2 yrs I had it!- Usually thumb or fingers squashed under 'towel rack' handle. It's a HARD cab to move up stairs too-harder than my NV610!!! Even 2 ppl moving it isn't as EZ as 2 ppl with my Berg! Just the shape-Loved the sound tho! Bottom Line- if getting the V4BH, U NEED an efficient cab-to get the volume outta the amp. So look at a cab with 100db sensitivity-I think MY Berg is 103 or 102db.... Makes a LOT of difference! as u r in UK what about the Orange AD200 valve bass amp- s'posed 2 b a beauty!!!
  2. I've the NV610 & if the NV215 is anywhere near as good as it/they say it is-it'll be AWESOME!!!! BTW I USED t have a SVT410HLF-w/ tweeter-usually I had tweeter on about 1/4. The Berg cabs are voiced differently & I haven't missed not having a tweeter AT ALL!!!!! -BTW I'm playing funk/soul/modern disco/dance music in one band, rock in another! Love MY Berg!
  3. [attachment=112:DSC02345.JPG]My Fender 300PRO & BERGANTINO NV610 AN AWESOME combination!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!
  4. Well I'll comment on me own gear- I'm a bit of a traditionalist-except for 5 strings- I like the standard lookin ol' bass. The Modded Squier has a Chunky bridge & really growls with the Barts- I usually use that bass for our 60's style stuff. Switch to the 'RAY 5 for the disco & funk stuff!
  5. [attachment=65:DSC02362.JPG] My Two 5 strings EB Music Man Stingray 5, Squier Precision Standard Anniversary special 5- 2x Bartolini jazz 5 p/ups, CTS pots- actually a LOVELY bass to play-Passive too!, in front of my ol' '70's 180w valve amp( 6 x EL34's 4 x 12 AX7) on Berg NV610 [attachment=66:MM_STING..._as_mine.jpg] Close ups of the EB MM 'Ray 5 [attachment=67:DSC02345.JPG]My Fender 300PRO(6x6550 Svetlanas,3x12AX7,1x12AT7) on Bergantino NV610- AWESOME COMBINATION!!!!

    Good stuff. Thanx.
  8. Yep- TONE/SOUND/FEEL there's NOTHING like the sound of a Acoustic Dbl bass! Nuthin! Shorter sustain, a real THUMP to each note-AWESOME! I DON'T have one- I've GOT a Modded Palatino Elec. Uprite double bass. This does a pretty darn good job at an acoustic Dbl bass sound-same scale, slightly hollow body-all helps. This sounds MUCH better in our jazz style band than if I just played elec bass all the time. I do use the elec. bass on about 1/3 of the songs- makes for a nice change when I do! Cheers, Rod.
  9. Hey NAsh.....whats this .....3 forums were' able to "chat" on Now???? I know ther's more out there BUT some.... well...... better left alone.... Now I've NEVER tried an Aphex anything so....can't he;p ya there. Outta interest what cabs DO U run yr SUNN 300 into usually. I rum mine into a Berg NV610 usually, sometimes into my Aguilar GS112 & MESA/EV TL115 oor sumtimes intop just the Mesa/EV TL115 15". I LOVE the sound of the amp into the NV610 best but the 15" is great too!
  10. I tried out one of the early ones-HOW early I dunno- it was bright yellow-as opposed to the Orangey yellow of My new LMII- a cuppla yrs ago at my local shop & I wasn't impressed with it. Yet I do like my LMII very much!!!! Go figure!!!!??????????????
